Blessed Shield

In Max's home, Hans was watching Max quietly. He had a hunch that this kid will be able to do it, albeit Igor's son and whatnot, when he began explaining Max was concentrated on every word spoken by him and tried to understand them. Once he was given hope he will be grasping it for his highest chances of survival which was a great character to have.

But this was too much.

Maybe he was talented, a genius at that, as otherwise Hans can't explain it, not by a long shot. Max was able to connect to the soul of the weapon in just a few seconds, and a few minutes after he already contracted it. 'What is going on??!' Hans thought as he felt the strong magic fluctuation between Max and the shield.

He looked towards Max breathless and for a second he almost forgot about the risks that this might implode. As he regained his posture dark green particles began flickering in the air, their diamond-shaped figure filled the space inside the room as Hans began reciting in a low voice. The dark green particles began forwarding towards Hans, more exactly they were gathering towards his staff.

The air around became restless as Hans began conjuring his magic, ready to unleash an attack. Igor could feel these fluctuations, he wasn't a mage but the power that Hans was gathering could be sensed even by normal Weapon Masters.

Max began waking up in the meanwhile, he looked flustered at his surroundings. 'I am back?' He asked himself. Even though he was inside that dark place for only a few minutes he got accustomed to the feeling of being there, nothingness surrounding him, and whatnot the feeling of being in a completely new place, it all changed in just a few moments.

Max felt suppression on his body shortly after. It was on a whole new level from what he had been experiencing so far, his body shivered and it began limping. Before even standing upright, on his own two legs, he was already kneeling, unable to resist the pressure.

"Mr. Hans it's me! Max! I have completed the contract!" Max almost shouted, he understood what was happening as he remembered Hans's last words 'After you finish the contract you have to announce it to me, otherwise I will kill you thinking that the cursed soul had taken over you.'

"How?! How can you still be yourself?" Hans screamed in frustration. When looking at Max he was able to realize that he was still the same person, but he couldn't believe it. The speed that he completed the contract with the weapon was astonishing! Normally it would at least take some hours.

Before anything else happened the door burst open as Igor went through it with ease. He became too anxious. He felt the pressure coming from inside the door and his son talking to Hans once more, he couldn't bear it anymore.

"Elder Hans please stop!" Igor begged Hans. He didn't care if his son was possessed, he would bring him back at any cost. 'There should be at least someone able to help with this even if the worst happened!' Igor thought to himself foolishly.

Just then the pressure began subsiding and with it gone Max began getting back up on his feet.

"So how are you feeling then?" Hans asked cautiously.

"It is strange, I can now fill the soul inside of the weapon without even trying, it is like before but it isn't forced.. it doesn't feel wrong... I am sorry I don't know how to explain it..." Max scratched his head, embarrassed by the fact he can't explain the feeling he is getting right now.

"You feel a connection like before but it's soothing, and you are not scared of it anymore right?" Hans asked Max helplessly, he understood why he couldn't explain it. It was a new feeling, he would at least need some time figuring it out by himself to be able to describe it.

"Yes... like that, I also feel stronger for some reason... like my body has strengthened"

"Your body was drenched in magic particles a few seconds ago, of course it was strengthened. Now tell me what happened, I want to at least be able to get the gist of the situation." Hans said as he wiping the beads of sweat that began forming on his forehead.

"Interesting... I have no words to say Max, you are a lucky kid I guess, being able to be the master of a Blessed Weapon from such a young age... not even your father has one!" Hans began laughing for a little while before stopping and continuing his speech "I will be the first one to congratulate you then, Max. I should be going now, you have stressed this old man enough so far. I hope to meet you again, Igor can you escort me out?" Hans asked of Igor. He couldn't complain so he ended up helping Hans.

As they both left a voice was heard ringing inside Max's ears.

'Call me and my weapon form shall respond! When are we going to train?' the voice of the excited Matt was heard, he couldn't wait any longer.

"What? Matt?" Max panicked while looking around, his eyes eventually landed on the shield which he left on the floor.

'Our souls are connected now so of course I can at least communicate with you silly' The joyful voice of Matt sounded again, informing him of what was happening.

'So if I talk like this you will be able to hear me?' Max thought doubtfully.

'Yes! You are learning so fast Max' Matt had an impressed voiced this time 'Now call me, I want to test something out that we might be able to do!' He recommended Max once again.

'Ok then.. come to me..?' Max thought, and in the next moment the shield began emitting dark diamond-shaped particles around it. The shield was covered in the black diamond-shaped particles and as in responding to Max's call, it flew towards him at a pace that Max couldn't even see. The shield glued itself to Max's arm as he didn't even need to hold it by a handle or anything.

Max moved his hand and where it went, the shield followed.

'This is awesome!' Max thought excitingly.
