Meeting Mark

Max woke up later that day. He stretched out his hands in the air while still laying down on his bed.

'Good morning Matt' Max greeted Matt in his thoughts.

'Morning Max' Matt addressed back. Neither divine nor cursed souls of the respective items would sleep at night, they would just be doing other stuff during that period to entertain themselves. The only times when they could sleep would be when they slumbered but Matt was an active weapon and even contracted, slumbering was out of the question for him.

What Matt would be doing while Max slept would be either thinking, about ways to improve his meditation routine or other nonsensical stuff, or he would be gathering magic particles around him, storing them inside his corporeal form and discharge them around Max while meditating.

Max got up from his bed and stretched a bit more before going towards the bathroom, he planned to freshen up and that is what he did. He finished his daily routine, making his bed, organizing some stuff, and out of boredom an idea surfaced inside Max's mind.

'I wanted to explore the academy but now I don't have to do it on my own' He began walking towards the bathroom once again, but this time he wasn't going to use it. Going past it towards the second entrance to the room Max slowly opened the door.

'Let's see what the guy... Mark?... is doing' Max remembered the name of the person he met last night, well... earlier today.

'Hmm?' Max peeked inside Mark's room, not being able to see anyone around. He wanted to close the door and back into his room, thinking that Mark had already left and will be coming back later today but then, just as he was about to close the door a snore sounded inside Mark's room giving away his position.

'He is still sleeping?!' Max was both surprised but not at the same time, it isn't normal for fighters to sleep so much but when thinking about it, it was pretty late when they both supposedly went to sleep.

He entered Mark's room and walked towards his bed where he saw Mark, hugging the blankets on his bed.

'Why does he remind me of Ken?... no wait, he is just like him...' Max rubbed his eyes in annoyance at the resemblance of these two.

'Can I wake him up? I mean, after all, we just met briefly...' After a second of thought Max chose to wake him up in a more gentle way that he was accustomed to.

"Wake up Mark, let's go explore around the academy" But there was no response from him. Max wiggled him with a bit more force and was able to disrupt Mark from his deep sleep.

"Ugh...? Just a few more minutes" Mark commented, he didn't open his eyes and had forgotten the fact that he wasn't home, thinking that Max was his mother trying to wake him up.

Max looked at Mark in disbelief, 'Just how much can you resemble him?' and as his anger got the best of him he pulled Mark by the hand off the bed.

"WHAT?!" Mark got a nice wake-up call from the floor and it seemed to work. He jolted back up, looking around him and spotting Max.

"The hell was that!?" Mark asked Max, he had most of his answer already figured out, he asked just to confirm his suspicion.

Max feeling deja-vu and a lot of nostalgia answered. "Shut up, you deserve it." A smile appeared on Max's lips, 'These idiots really are the same'.

Touching the back of his head and slowly massaging in the spot where he felt the most pain Mark answered, "No I don't."

For some reason, he didn't feel mad but he surely was confused. 'Why is he here? Wait what was his name again??' Mark didn't remember Max's name.

"Okay maybe a little, this concussion you gave me made me forget your name, what was it?" Mark asked, trying to blame Max for his own mistake. He remembered that he was the guy sitting next door to him and that they shared a bathroom but he forgot one of the most important things about him. His name.

"I'm Max" He simply responded. Even though Max was a bit annoyed that he couldn't remember his name, the familiarity of Mark made him forgive him pretty much.

"I'll come to your room after I freshen up... please leave now" Mark hurriedly told Max to leave right after.

'Strange...' Max thought but did as told and gone back to his room through the bathroom.

After a while Max heard the door to the bathroom open. He looked towards it and saw Mark standing at the doorstep not coming into his room. He was now in different clothes, he changed from the light blue pajamas he wore into a chainmail armor. He had a sword by his side, sheathed, his hand resting on it.

"Alright then, let's go." Mark stood in place for a while, Max was still examining him. "You didn't wake me up in such a way for nothing right?" He continued, annoyed at Max which was still staring at him.

"Um no," Max finally replied to Mark. He pointed his index finger at him then began making a circle with Mark being the center of it.

"But don't you think this is too much?" He asked doubtfully. He thought that maybe this was his normal wearing when going outside but he still had to ask it.

"No, and looks who's the one to talk. Aren't you also wearing your leather armor?" Mark tried directing the interrogation towards Max.

"I also have metal armor, this leather outfit of mine is just to go outside while still being cautious about it." Max shrugged while getting up from the bed.

He walked towards the door, opened it and as he left his room he turned around to see Mark who was making his way out of his room as well. "Do you know anything about the academy?"

"I have no idea really, I know some stuff about it but I don't know where places are." He admitted to Max which frowned for a second.

"Alright then, let's aimlessly look around."
