Infirmary

'What is happening?' Alexander asked himself while he rushed his way to the infirmary of the academy with Max in his hands.

Max was in a horrible condition because something strange happened and Alexander didn't know what did but something surely was needed to happen otherwise Max will die.

'What do I know… We fought… Smashed him in the ground… But why would that cause his evolution process to speed up?' Alexander tried to find a reason but it was too late for him to assess the situation as he entered through the doors that led him inside the infirmary.

"Where are you Aphrodisia?!" He demanded someone to show themselves and as requested a woman with beautiful white skin rushed from a back room attached to the main room of the infirmary.

"What is it, Ali? Don't you kno-"She knew that when Alexander called her in such manner it meant that something happened but she wasn't expecting to see him holding a bleeding body.

Her eyes turned sharped while she looked at Alexander; studying the student he brought with him.

"Werewolf, New-Blood I suppose… Place him the bed" Aphrodisia pointed at a certain bed in the room and Alexander listened to her; placing Max down before backing away from the bed.

"How did he get in such a situation now? Isn't it still day?" She then asked moving her gaze on the window before looking back at Alexander.

"This is what I don't know, he was alright until the fight ended." He said but it wasn't much of an answer.

"Ugh, you never have any information… Don't disrupt me then." She commanded Alexander before closing her eyes, her hands emanating blue flames before placing them on Max's belly. They spread around his whole body, going back and forth while Max spasmed lightly.

"Black Dragon Flames?!" Aphrodisia almost shouted in surprise.

"What do you mean?" Alexander immediately asked after hearing her surprised tone, he didn't have a lot of knowledge when it came to the Dragonborn race.

"Different types of flames, there are special flames and normally a Dragonborn is born with the basic flames but there are exceptions… Some have different attributes such as being able to inspect information about whatever they incase in the flames or… in the case of the Black Dragon Flames, be able to absorb magic particles from one's body." She explained in a jittery manner but her words made enough sense for the other to understand.

"Those flames!" Alexander jumped from the seat he just took and Aphrodisia nodded in acknowledgment.

"It means that he took moonlight particles from you when you fought against him" Aphrodisia said, confirming Alexander's thoughts.

'Tsk' Alexander clicked his tongue while examining his body in search of abnormalities.

An alpha could absorb a myriad of particles each night so just a few weren't going to affect him in any way but as he looked at how many his body had yet to process he felt perplexed seeing that there were none left in his body, the only other elemental particles being the fire elemental particles that were also amiss by about a few hundred.

"He did, this is all my fault…" Alexander was mad at Max but at the same time he couldn't say that it wasn't his fault either, after all, he was the one who wanted to see Max's abilities.

"Don't worry wolf-boy, this is annoying but it isn't unsolvable. I'll help him just for you" Aphrodisia then pulled the drawer next to her open and searched for a while before taking out a black cube.

"Here." She pushed the cube on Max's chest and it started glowing, white patterns slowly lighting up.

After a few seconds the cube was removed from Max's chest and thrown at Alexander who instinctively caught it.

"That is a relic forged by a Black Dragon and it has the property to absorb and store any magic particles from a body. It also has the property to release the particles whenever you want it to, all it takes is a little shake." She explained in a relaxed manner while pointing at the cube.

"Why would you give it to me? Shouldn't you or this kid keep it?" He asked while looking at the cube in a fascinating manner.

"C'mon Ali! Do you think I would trust a stranger with treasures of my race?" She complained while slightly pouting.

"Right… I say sorry for the sudden appearance…"

The two talked in a relaxed manner, disregarding Max who was now looking a lot better than before. His bleeding stopped and his spasms subsided as well; his breathing also regulated which proved his state being constant.

'What happened?' Max asked himself as he slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the light in the room.

"You know, I can help you release some of those pent-up emotions that males have to conceal" The appealing voice of an unknown woman resounded in Max's ears and his body jerked into the direction of the sound by instinct.

"N-No thank you. I released them a while ago…" It was the voice of Alexander which sounded extremely uncomfortable.

'Hmm?!' Max was able to see two people standing on top of each other. Above his teacher Alexander being a woman with blonde hair whose cheeks were slightly red.

"Max! Thank God! Let's go, I have something to explain to you while I escort you to your dorm!" Alexander heard the sound of Max moving and his position erected, almost throwing the woman off him but catching her and safely placing her on the ground.

"I thank you for helping me Dia but I have to go, I'll be sure to visit you soon and give you the cube back!" He released the woman from his grasp and then grabbed Max by his arm, dragging him out of the bed.

"Whoa!" Max stumbled but couldn't fall because of the grip Alexander had on him.

"C'mon!" His voice was filled with discomfort while he urged Max out of the infirmary.

"Playing hard to get" Aphrodisia clicked her tongue before saying in a low voice.

***

"What was happening before I woke up?" Max wasn't oblivious to the words spoken and on the sight, but he just had to ask.

"You saw nothing. You passed out after accidentally stealing moonlight particles that had yet to be processed by me and your body began evolving at an alarming rate, almost costing you your life. Understand?" His teacher said in a really authoritative tone.

"Wait, teacher, you are a werewolf as well?!" Max felt surprised at the sudden discovery. He knew that he was different but had yet to place his finger on it.

"You... you didn't realize that by now?" Alexander forgot almost instantly about the other matter, being surprised by Max's ignorance.

"I knew there was something I didn't know about you sir but never realized it," Max responded truthfully to Alexander's question, feeling no reason to lie or think about it.

"Ugh… why weren't you explained basic stuff like this. Listen to me closely while we walk"

Alexander began explaining as fast as he could what a werewolf's standard abilities were; telling him about the sense of smell and instincts he should trust from now on. They reached Max's dorm room in the meanwhile and his teacher let Max's arm free.

"This is just the basics I can explain to you, gain experience and learn the smell of different things to be able to identify objects and other shapeshifters from around you. Otherwise, you are dead meat."

"Thank you for caring about me sir!" Max shouted but Alexander stopped only after hearing the door to Max's room close, turning around to look in the direction where Max stood before.

His demeanor changed alongside the look in his eyes; taking out the black cube that shone with white light on it before shaking his head and placing it back in his pocket.
