In seek of information

'You'll transform on the first full moon you experience' These were the words that agitated Max after he was notified by Mark regarding the full moon the next day.

"What is it Max?" His friend asked, slightly being taken aback after seeing Max get up from his bed in an instant, his facial expression showing the anxiety he felt while beads of sweat appeared.

Max didn't want it to happen so soon, there were too many things he had to do lately and as a result he pushed this matter at the back of his head, this action ending up being a nuisance later. Max realized he didn't want to go through it alone while not knowing anything about it as well, the sudden realization making him curse in his mind.

'What should I do now, I haven't seen Dylan for long now and I can't just go find him on a whim. It feels like he disappeared from the academy' Max asked Matt who was more than pleased to answer.

'Dylan and his group would be the first to ask for help but I think that there is something we don't know about those three. Don't you find it strange how they guarded you for about a week while being unconscious but now they aren't even visiting? I guess that something happened at some point… I can even say that it was because you met with the leader' Matt began speculating at first but soon he gave Max his answer.

'I think Alexander would the better choice, it feels like he would help you with this if you asked and inform you on what to do; this is a better choice than searching for those three. Also, he seems to be older so his help might be more valuable as well.' Matt was invested in this whole deal, helping Max find the best path of action for him.

"Earth to Max?... Hellooo…" Mark was finally able to break Max's concentration after saying and doing some questionable things. This process took a while so he was ready to give up but to his surprise Max woke up from his stunned state right before doing so.

"I am sorry. I was thinking of something" Max apologized as he looked at Mark who looked like a bored child.

"No problem, then… what is your answer?" His friend asked and Max felt heartbroken at what he was supposed to say.

Max woke up and freshened himself before going at his practical hours where he met up with Alexander who seemed down. It was quite a sad sight but Max knew there was nothing he was able to do about it.

"Is everyone here?" Alexander asked as he looked at the bunch of students that gathered in front of him over the last few minutes. He didn't get any response back from them as for a student to respond toward a question that wasn't meant specifically for him was disrespectful even in this situation.

"Alright then… where were we last time... Ah, right." It took a few seconds but Alexander began guiding his students after remembering what each was supposed to work on. It took a while but it was Max's turn and as last time his teacher approached him but today both of them bestowed frowning expressions.

"I didn't have any time to look for an ability book for you," Alexander said in a monotone voice, the same voice he had been addressing to everyone today.

"It's no problem, I want to talk with you again after the hours. It's really important" Max didn't have the same thoughts as his teacher but he was bummed by what he said either way; barely being able to hide his annoyance.

"Alright, if you say so" He then left Max before the latter said anything else, leaving Max shocked slightly by this action. Looking toward Alexander he saw him going toward the next student, instructing him before leaving in a similar manner.

'I feel so bad' Max thought and was startled when he got feedback from Mark.

'Well, it was us that made him be like this. He had to fight with someone he was very close to, maybe even closer than usual…' Mark said in an unusual gloomy voice. It seemed like his speech tone began changing after integrating with Max, making him more human and relatable as before his usual cheery voice was annoying in serious situations.

It was almost noon when Alexander told everyone that they were free to go for today and after a few minutes of waiting everyone except Max left, making the two of them the last to leave for two days in a row.

Max looked at his teacher who faced him, not saying anything. Just staying there looking at each other awkwardly didn't solve anything and after a while, Max finally broke the silence between them.

"I know how it sounds but I need your help again, can you tell me information about what happens on the first full moon of a werewolf? I don't want to bother you anymore but I need to" Max told Alexander who seemed disinterested at first but as the former finished his question his eyes widened in realization.

"The full moon is today right?!" Alexander returned to how he was a few days ago in just a second, no gloominess felt in his voice at all.

"Yes," Max affirmed and he was once again asked by his teacher.

"And it is your first moon now, and nobody is helping you with that? Where is Dylan?" Alexander asked curiously. He knew that something happened if he wasn't around Max but he asked just to be sure.

"I don't know… He didn't visit me for the past week so I can only go to you for guidance. I can't show my face down there either." Max told Alexander and was obviously referring to the place that he can only call the academy basement.

"Wait, you were at the Race Hall?" Alexander asked doubtfully. He hadn't been there for a while but still heard that something happened when a beta came to visit the leader. 'Wait' It was then that something clicked in his mind.

"You are that beta?!" He remembered all the times he heard things about a new beta confronting the leader in front of half of the pack. There were even some stories that other race leaders retorted at their leader for claiming the beta without telling them first, even though nobody does that.

"I don't know what you mean but yes. I was at the 'Race Hall'" Max finally found how to call the place below the academy.

"This is going to be a pain then, let's go to your dorm. I'll try and clear any questions you might have" And with that, they both marched toward Max's room where they had a session of questions and answers.

There Max found out that a special event happened on the night of the full moon which had yet to be fully researched. During that night the moonlight particles are especially pure and denser and in such a night a werewolf's strength is doubled because of the purity of the element while it also forced the new blood into transformation. This transformation was vital because of a multitude of reasons one of which being able to grasp the feeling of it; making transformation controllable from that point onwards.

Max also asked about the transformation and Alexander informed him that it served as a power amplifier but if he used it in battle he couldn't stay into it for too long as the moonlight particles from the body would expend at an extremely fast rate. Everything his teacher said was realistic but as he saw Max getting excited about it he went on to tell him that only alpha werewolves can transform whenever they wanted, be it night or day; other werewolves only being able to transform during the night after experiencing their first full moon.

Alexander told vital information to Max and one of them being that he had to be awake during the whole process otherwise he wouldn't be able to control his transformation; falling unconscious made his body which would be affected by the pure moonlight element go on a rampage, using its instincts to sheath its bloodthirst.

They talked for a long while and that was for a reason. As the sun began setting below the horizon Alexander told Max that he would be staying here to supervise him as nobody knows when something can happen during such a hectic time.

"Thank you" Max sincerely said but his teacher didn't accept his words.

"Don't thank me. It's about time so let's get to work"
