"What are we doing here?" Max asked in a hushed voice as he descended toward the Race Hall.
"We need to prepare for the worst scenario which is you going rampage. If you need another reason then if we do it inside your room it'll be extremely hard, if you don't stop yourself from screaming in pain someone will most probably come. This is the best place to do so." Alexander told Max his reasons just as they reached the bottom of the stairs.
"But I am not allowed in here" Max, who was highly unsettled, got on Alexander's nerves as he said that.
"And? Can you stop being a child for once?! The leader told you to come here once you are worthy right? Do you think that being scared of this change that happens in your life will make you worthy?" Alexander was stuck up with Max, he always was anxious about things nowadays and he became like that after becoming a werewolf as from the limited interactions the two of them had before Alexander knew that Max was a lot more confident.
His words made Max stumble backward out of shock as he wasn't expecting this to happen right at this moment.
'It seems like it's the time you have to choose Max. You either start making your own actions or accept that you will always be influenced by what you fear. I didn't want to tell you this so soon, especially after having our talk a while before but this is a crucial choice for now.' It seemed that Matt also rose up in order to pressure him; this making Max almost succumb to the sudden stress he was feeling.
His hands began trembling slightly and as Alexander looked at him he frowned upon seeing this reaction; he didn't know that he was also facing an internal conflict at the same time.
"I don't know if we have time but we'll search for a place where you can start your transformation. Let's go" His teacher said as he turned around, climbing the stairs step by step.
'And how am I able to change like that Matt?' Max thought as he felt sick of people telling him that he changed for the worse.
'You forgot already? I can help you but I don't want to change your personality without your agreement.' Matt talked in a relaxed tone as if this was a breeze.
'Then do it.' Max stopped thinking about it and just responded affirmatively.
Matt heed his command as soon as Max agreed, stopping the fear and anxiety from clouding his mind. This was a hard process to maintain but he didn't have to keep doing it constantly; just when it was needed.
Max felt strange suddenly, all of the thoughts that pushed him back from even taking a step forward vanished, leaving him in a tranquil state. He raised his arm which now trembled no more, using it to wipe his sweat off his damp forehead.
"No, I'll do it here" Max spoke up after hearing Alexander going up the stairs.
"Are you sure?" Alexander's voice reverberated through the air. Truthfully, he was taken aback by Max's determined tone as it seemed like his personality took a 180-degree turn for the better.
"Yes." That was all that Max said but it was more than enough, Alexander basically appearing beside him from thin air.
He looked at Max quite doubtful but after noticing the look in his eyes he was able to see that he had no fear anymore, his body was loosened up and his mind felt clear.
"Then let's go" And as Alexander took the lead they soon entered the same room Max went in before, where he met with the leader and where he was able to see just how many werewolves were in the academy; he of course didn't know that the number he saw was roughly half of the total werewolves.
As the duo entered the room a lot of individuals, in human form or not, stared in their direction. For some, the smell from the boy that followed Alexander was unknown while for the others it was not. Those who knew that Max shouldn't be here wanted to ask what was happening but after receiving a threatening gaze from Alexander they stopped, nobody was going to face him at that moment.
"There is no need for you to ever be afraid of this place. Everyone here is an ally" Alexander told Max who nodded in response, his gaze jumping from individual to individual in an attempt to recognize the people inside.
He examined all the individuals inside the room as he followed closely behind Alexander but he wasn't able to see who he was searching for, the leader.
"If you are searching for Lutz, he is not here today" Max's search didn't go unnoticed though so Alexander told him after knowing that the former realized that he wasn't here.
"Oh…" Max now felt a bit awkward as he was anxious just because he didn't want to face that exact person which was missing.
Max wasn't able to see the inside of the room before as he went on the path limited by the werewolves which were present at that time but as they were now scattered around the place Max realized the utter beauty of this place.
It seemed to be made fully of marble, beautifully engraved pillars sometimes present to support the ceiling from falling. Werewolves were present, filling the grand space that this place presented even toward the back of the room where a grand throne could be seen on which were embedded strange white stones that glowed with blue light from time to time. Max walked forward and sometimes he was able to see doors carved with different designs.
Some showcased wolves of different colors while others presented fangs on them but none were the ones that Max stopped at. After a while, Alexander stopped and Max who was able to see a double door that brought an awe-inspiring feeling to it did as well. The design of the door was special, extremely so knowing that there weren't any other double door entrances inside this room, on it were two wolves one on each side howling toward the moon that was situated in the middle of the door.
"Hope you aren't afraid of the dark," Alexander said as he pushed the door open, grabbing Max before shoving him in quickly.
The doors closed and as they did a blue hue rose from them, the door now presenting a light similar to the stones that were engraved on the throne.
"ALEXANDER!" Max shouted as he banged onto the door that didn't budge.
