"So, did you find out anything?" Parisu asks in excitement, currently, it's only Reina, her and Kin in the club. The rest of the members have mysteriously disappeared, saying they needed to do other things. Reina had already given him the number which was exactly the same as the one he had saved on his phone already. But he kept it anyway, pretend that it was the first time he was seeing it.
"Hm?" he asks, Reina was also interested but kept her distance as she needed to compile the magazine.
"In Niigata, did you see where the company was?" she asks. He looks up from his laptop, he is currently wearing glasses as he spent all night without them and he had almost tripped over the threshold on his way to school. He didn't like it however and adjusts it to prevent it from sliding off his bridge.
"No... I didn't have the time, I'll go today," he replies, saving his work, he closes the laptop," Reina-senpai, I've sent the page to you, I've also added the cover for the page, could you see if it'll fit into the issue? Thanks," he replies before briskly walking out after getting confirmation from her, his cheeks a little red.
"Is he alright?" Reina asks in worry. Parisu chuckles sheepishly, truly the completely clueless crush doesn't only exist in Anime.
He walks towards the carpark instead however, he had to bother his mother to drive him there for she was going there for some business as well, it won't be good if she saw him sneaking around the place. So he had told her in the morning before she went to work.
Her work requires a lot of driving around, so she does so, it's rather weird that she'd be the one with the car rather than his dad, but he didn't see the need when he can take the train every day.
"So, I said, well if you don't want your walls to look like a child had used wet glue to stick the wallpaper on, you better give me the money," she bursts out laughing. Kin smiles, it sounds very much like her, outspoken, honest and snarky, sigh, he wishes he could be as brave as she is. Sounds very strange sure, but he can't speak in front of crowds, get flustered easily and is silent most of the time. He doesn't like to talk much, why when he has friends that do all the talking for him?
He is like his mother in looks and his personality like his father he supposed. He seems rather silent too, never really talking to him unless it was about homework or business or well... food. Yeah, he can geek out about food all the time and he constantly says that Kin is bad at it and always will want to grab the spoon from him to measure the right amount. He didn't mind so long as he spent time with his father, he seemed to heal from cooking as well, always coming home late tired and his eyes lighting up at the smell of food.
He hasn't been listening to his mother, however, worried that he might distract her from the road, just saying a few words of confirmation. They arrived in Niigata in no time, she drives up to the address he gave her and looks rather hesitant.
"Darling, don't you want to reconsider? If you pass and your father found out..." she replies.
"You don't have to think so much about that," Kin smiles reassuringly," besides, I haven't got anything related to music nor dancing in my profile, I'm sure they'll find someone better," he adds. His mother seems rather contemplating about it.
"If you change your mind, however..." she replies, bracing herself, though she had followed her own dreams, she had suffered a lot, at first she thought that was what was going to happen when he joined Yukiyume University but knowing him... he is bound to change... again-
She didn't know however was that he joined because of a certain someone rather than it was because of what he liked. He never knew what he wanted to do, the people were mostly because of what he wanted to do. Sure he wasn't a people person, but just one is enough to motivate him to do things.
He looks up at the building, he was just going to be in and out of it, this is for the paper and to satisfy his curiosity, surely people would be interested in idols again. He braces himself before climbing out of the car.
"Call me when you're done," she beams in encouragement and they wave at each other in goodbye. Kin sighs as he sees his mom's car drive away, steeling his nerves, he marches into the building. Though he should be filling his head with encouragement, all he could think of was how he was going to be made fun of.
'I'm doing this for the points, doing this for the points,' he repeated in his head. He can't impress his teachers, so he might as well get extra points from club projects and possibly have a printing future if the university doesn't work.
He walks towards the front counter, is met with a nice lady who directed him towards the studio. He sighs, waiting outside as she seated him there. This is definitely coincidental, on the day that he received the card, the audition was hosted the next day, even if he was a late recruiter with nothing to prepare other than himself, possibly because the audition only consisted of dancing or singing. They must be prodigies to be able to audition at a moment's notice and he was wondering if he should be doing any stretches or warm-up when the door swing open.
It's Mr Tanaka, he seems rather formal than he last saw him. His shirt is loose with matching pants, he's even barefoot.
"Come in," he gestures and leads him into the studio, Kin was surprised at the lack of people today, there are just five guys together, one even looked like a baby. ( well not really but compared to the rest at least )
Kin stands slightly to the side of the guys, all of them not paying him any attention, rather they were more focused on Bokkai who stands at the desk with another woman, she seems more presentable, with a business formal outfit, her hair dyed light purple.
"We'll start with the first guy,"
...
The audition was chaotic... at least to Kin, he suggested a song he heard briefly and probably didn't even sing the right lyrics, he is sure he was in tune but from the lack of impressive faces from the two staff members and the other guys, he didn't think he did well. He sighs, well that's a huge failure, he didn't even get to see the guy he saw 2 days ago, he didn't even remember his name.
While he was internally mourning, the staff members dismissed them and said that they'll send the results to their emails.
He sighs, leaning on a lamp post dejectedly, seeing the other guys walk away, he waits for his mother to arrive. He could smell candy, as soon as he thought about it, a lollipop appears in his vision. He turns to look at Bokkai who looks at him with a neutral expression.
"For you," he replies. Kin didn't really want to be rude to reject it but... he is quite scared that he may have drugged it. Then again, it looks unopened. He sighs, just taking it.
"What's the long face for?" he asks. Kin smiles sadly at him, did he not notice?
"Nothing... just tired that's all," he chuckles.
"Yes... university... don't know how it's like but must be tough," Bokkai offers. Kin wonders if he was just consoling him before he let him go back to his daily life." But you did good today," he replies. Kin can't help but snort at that.
"I'm saying the truth, sure you're not really good at singing, but there is always time to master it," he adds, chewing on his lollipop. Kin wonders again if he knew what he was majoring as and how long it has been since the last touched any instrument or never have- at all. He simply makes a grunt.
Bokkai glances at him before nodding.
"You know, call me a fraud but, I can tell where someone's fate will lead them to," he replies. Kin raises an eyebrow, now that seems more like a scam." I see your road lead to endless possibilities," he simply says before walking back into the building," you'll do well whatever you choose to be in future," he adds.
Kin looks at the disappearing back even as his mother's car slows down beside him, staring at the candy for a while, he opens the wrapper and throws it into the bin before climbing into the car.
Meanwhile, Hideki skips along the sidewalk alone, rather happy about his performance.
