We walked through the meadow for a while until we reached the top of a small hill that looked over a tiny village that rested peacefully in the center of the large meadow.
"Alright, here we are my young apprentice." Herobrine said to me as he looked down at the village like a hungry lion looking down at a flock of helpless sheep.
"Young Apprentice?" I asked with a confused look.
"Yeah, what else would I call you?" He answered as if he didn't realize the movie reference he had just said. I just smiled slightly and tried not to giggle before looking back at the village. The villagers were peacefully going about their lives with no idea what danger lurked just outside their home. I had a feeling the villagers would be wishing they had working hands in just a few minutes. My stomach squeezed itself with the thought that I was actually gunna be working with, the Herobrine, in destroying stuff. But a part of me just accepted it for some reason.
"What are we going to do?" I asked Herobrine, just wanting the paragraph I just wrote to not be any longer. (That's the real reason, and cut it out future self plz) {editor me: "no :> "
"This is where you are going to learn the basics in summoning and handling your powers." Herobrine whispered. I could hear the role of a teacher in his voice. I slowly looked back at the villagers just walking around, farming, crafting, and playing around. I felt sick but the part of me that actually WANTED to be evil pushed those feelings down.
"Okay.. What first?" I asked, amused by what I was saying. Herobrine seemed amused as well as he looked at me with a proud smile.
"The first thing you need to learn is probably the simplest: summoning items into your inventory." He said with a smile. "The more you practice, the more items you can make pop out of thin air. But there is a limit. I still can't summon things like Bedrock or the Ender Dragon Egg.. Now, what you need to do is think of flint and steel. Imagine it in your hands." Herobrine instructed. I was pretty interested in what would happen so I did as he said, surprising I know. It didn't seem to work but Herobrine kept encouraging me to try harder. I squeezed my eyes shut and focused so hard I didn't even notice the item appear in my hands. "You did it!" Herobrine said excitedly and I opened my eyes and looked at the flint and steel in my hands.
"I did?" I asked while looking at the item. I still wasn't sure if I had actually done it or not. Maybe it was just an illusion, I didn't know.
"Yeah, now try a sword." He instructed again. This time it was easier and a wooden sword appeared in my right hand. That time I actually saw it magickly appear. It was only a wooden sword but I was still proud of it.
Why I followed Herobrine's instructions I had no idea. Why I felt like I actually sorta kinda WANTED to be bad, I didn't know. But I had a feeling that the answer, wasn't something I was ready to face yet.
Herobrine didn't look as excited as I did, but he had a pleased look on his face that told me he was glad he had rescued me.
"Okay, one thing to note is that your powers are like a muscle. Use them a lot and you get weak until you're able to rest and recharge. The more you use your powers, the longer you can last without getting tired.. Since you literally just started I'd guess you would be able to use your powers maximum five minutes before tiring yourself out. And of course I could probably last at least a week straight without needing rest, of course, my body needs rest like any other human though but I'm pretty sure you get the idea." Herobrine lectured. I just nodded my head and replayed all he had just told me in my head.
"So what now?" I decided to ask.
"Now, we attack," Herobrine said as he started running towards the village, motioning for me to follow. I felt sick inside but ran after him. As we got closer to the village some of the villagers noticed us and yelled for help to the others. I didn't even know they could talk, or have minds of their own, which just made me feel even sicker.
When we entered the village I let Herobrine handle the iron golems while I used that flint and steel I had summoned. I ran over to a house and prepared to hit it with my item so it would catch on fire, but I stopped and just looked at the block in front of me. Then, suddenly I was slammed against a house wall by two large metallic arms and I cried out in pain. I looked up to see an iron golem towering just in front of me. I saw it get ready to strike, it probably would have finished me right then, but I saw a blue blur jump towards the metal creature and stab it several times in the head and chest. The iron golem fell quickly and I stared in awe at Herobrine in front of me.
"You need to be better than that!" Was all he said as he pulled me up to my feet. He then ran off and fought some more iron golems. There were a lot more than expected, almost as if the villagers had expected Herobrine to eventually show up. But they didn't expect me to show up. I quickly turned around to the house I was slammed against and without hesitation, lit the woodblock in front of me. The fire spread quickly across the wall and I ran to the other side of the structure and lit it again. I then ran from building to building, setting the wood blocks on fire.
Suddenly I felt a punch to the face and I fell to the ground. I was worried it was another iron golem but the fist felt smaller and, human. I was then worried I had done something to make Herobrine mad as I looked up at whoever had punched me. I was partially relieved it was just a villager.. A VILLAGER!?
The villager was wearing a dark brown robe and an iron helmet on his head. But what surprised me most was that his hands weren't folded into each other. They were grasping an iron sword tightly in front of him. I could tell just by looking into his eyes that he was scared of me, but was determined to do something. I felt almost as if I could read his feelings just by looking into his young but solid dark green eyes. I could tell that this wasn't the first time he had witnessed a Herobrine attack, and he intended to do something about it.
"Listen, I don't want to fight." I said as I stood up and put my hands up in a surrendering position.
"That's a first!" The villager shrugged. He didn't put away his sword. "I never thought a follower of Herobrine would be so wimpy." He mocked, but I didn't blame him. I saw sorrow in his eyes, and then, he saw sorrow in mine.
"I didn't want to..." I said softly. The villager seemed to understand slightly but didn't put away his sword. So, I finally drew mine. I saw a faint smile creep up on the villager's face as he studied my bad posture and wooden sword. "Heh, why would Herobrine want a noob on his side?" The villager asked, mostly to himself. I just shrugged though I already knew the answer, the two answers.
Then the villager leaped towards me and I moved my sword to block it. But he had faked his swing and quickly turned his blade around to cut my other arm. I ignored the pain and swung at him. He blocked and swung back, luckily I was able to block that one because it would have been really painful if it had hit me. The villager started swinging like crazy and all I could do was block his sword. He finally seemed to tire himself and I swung at his chest. He blocked it but he looked even more tired. Then it was my turn to swing like crazy. We had practically swapped roles in the fight and just like him, I got tired too. We both stopped fighting for a moment and awkwardly stood next to each other panting. I looked up at the burning houses and so did he.
"..Why?..." The villager asked me in a hurt voice as if I had just betrayed them. I asked myself the same question and my head hurt to think about it. I knew there was a reason other than that I simply wanted to be evil but I couldn't put my blocky hand on it.
"I wish I knew..." I finally said with a pant. We then started fighting again. We were both tired but neither of us were giving up. I was honestly surprised I had lasted so long. I felt like talking, I felt like clearing my name. I wanted so badly to grab a water bucket and put out the fires. I felt so, bad...
