The New Generation Marine

The next day dawned brightly.

Already a considerable number of figures were converging on the beach, looking agitated and discussing.

"We're finally going to start special training today, and I thought we'd have to wait forever!"

"Well, Nah, I hear there's a new instructor."

"What bad luck, I just happened to run into Vice Admiral Dragon on an emergency mission, and the new instructor is not as strong as Vice Admiral Dragon."

"That can't say, strength or weakness doesn't mean that the means of instruction are superior or inferior, and being able to become an instructor at this headquarters boot camp speaks volumes in itself."

"But Vice-Admiral Dragon can produce a lot of good students, especially the three monsters from the last year, and I've heard that they are now as strong as many of the Rear Admirals of this headquarters!"

"Speaking of monsters, we've got a lot of great characters in this new year's class, too... Doberman, Hubert(Onigumo), Dalmatian from this division, Strawberry from the G2 branch, and Les from the G8 branch, one of them has monster-like strength, too!"

Most of these newcomers' eyes focused on the five most dazzling people, three of them were strong swordsmen, and one of them was a sporadic iron-headed power. As for the last one, although he was only a common Zoan ability, he also had quite a good performance with his strong physical skills.

Soon, the burly form of Admiral Zephyr appeared in the eyes of the crowd, followed by a tall but young-looking marine, leaving the public on the field a bit confused. Was this ... interloper?

Most of them had heard Longinus's name at one time or another, but not many had seen his face.

Amidst a group of confused whispers, however, two screams stood out in particular.

"It's Longinus-senpai!"

"It's Boss Longinus!"

One of the speakers was Les from the G8 branch, with a mohawk on his head. And the other was Strawberry from the G2 branch, with a skull length well beyond the norm.

Before the group of cadets could respond, Chief Instructor Zephyr stepped forward and said, "Little ones, are you tired of waiting, one by one? However, I want to tell you that your good days are over as of today, and what awaits you next will be a long and harsh training. You guys, are you ready?"

"Ready to go!"

There was no fear in the hearts of these newborn brats, but instead, they cheered in high spirits, causing the adjutant at the side to lament that they were indeed still too young!

"Dragon's mission is almost two months away," After Zephyr spoke, the noises quickly disappeared, and everyone listened intently, "And during those two months, you will be mentored and trained by your last outstanding senior, Captain Longinus!"

After saying that, the arena suddenly erupted in astonishment, filled with suspicion and disbelief. These newcomers naturally knew of Longinus. In the mouths of those adjutants, this one could correctly say to be the best cadet of the last, and even the previous five sessions.

But, as an instructor, he's still not entirely up to par, no?

Most of them cast their suspicious eyes on the straight figure standing behind Zephyr. Still, there were a small number of attentive people who noticed that after Chief Instructor Zephyr's announcement, none of those Commodore and Rear Admirals who served as adjutants even showed anger or suspicion, as if they were quite convinced of Chief Instructor Zephyr's decision.

With Longinus' heart, even the gazes of tens of thousands of people can be indifferent, so naturally, he would not react much to such a small scene, so he took a step forward and said in a gentle tone with an unquestionable toughness:

"I know that you may have doubts in your mind, and you may also ask me questions during the break. However, please put those doubts away for the rest of the training. And since I am now your instructor, all you need to do is to be obedient, is that understood?"

"Understood!" The sparse response interspersed with two more resounding yells, but it made many people angry that there was a traitor among us?

Zephyr wasn't surprised, these recruits were also called geniuses in their respective fields before they selected, and it wasn't easy to get them to let go of their pride so quickly.

But Zephyr wasn't worried. In his opinion, it was a simple enough task to bend these little guys with Longinus' means and abilities.

"Now, for the first task of the morning exercise, swing your fist full force 10,000 times in thirty minutes!"

"Five to six punches a second? Difficulty sounds pretty average!" Many of the recruits were disdainful in their hearts, many of them could even do ten punches a second, and in a world filled with monsters, five punches a second was indeed not difficult.

...

The first half of the Grand Line. The Kingdom of Atran in the middle sea.

The warship moored in a ruined harbor, and the sound of sirens drew a large number of refugees out of the jungle not far away, one by one holding sticks and stones, the best equipment seemed to be a few rusty kitchen knives, one by one with greedy eyes towards the warship in front.

"Good ... what a big boat, there must be a lot of water and food onboard for such a big boat!"

"If the robbery is successful, we'll have something to eat! Maybe it will last another week?"

"Idiot! That's a warship. It must be the royal family asking for help to get the marine to suppress us, run!"

"So what about the Marine? If we can't get food, we'll all die sooner or later!"

Seeing this chaotic scene, the adjutant who was following Dragon asked incredulously, "Could it be ... that these refugees are the rebels of the Atran Kingdom?"

"That should be right." Dragon, in a somewhat heavy mood, replied briefly.

"How is that possible? Isn't the Kingdom of Atran a government affiliate? How can the domestic economy wither to such an extent when even the exorbitant heavenly tribute can pay?"

"For, the roots of the royals' payment of the heavenly tribute itself come from the poor in the country. Even the Atran royals have used heavenly tribute as a tool for their enrichment. So much so that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer."

"I've been to many countries, but never has a kingdom thrown away even the most basic of coverings." The adjutant sighed, "Wouldn't the government regulate the royal family when they run amok like this?"

"Of course, we will. We're here, aren't we?" Dragon snarled, "Except it's not about setting things right as you might think. It's about helping the royal family suppress the so-called rebels!"

"It's the first time I've ever seen a rebel without clothing or even a weapon!" The deputy scoffed.

Dragon said, "The Kingdom of Atran has abolished all its troops. So much so that these refugees are considered rebels in their eyes!"

"Abolish the army? Are they crazy?"

"They just don't want to waste money on things that don't 'make sense' and anyway, whether it's a pirate attack or a domestic riot, they need to ask the World Government for help."

"Is the suppression of such a riot really ... considered justice?"

"But we have no choice. At least we could keep those refugees safe if we were the ones to come." Dragon sighed, "People can take medicine and operate when they're sick, so what do we do when the world is sick?"
