Kizaru's Laughing with a Big Asshole Smile

1503 Age of Kaien, G2 branch of the Grand Line;

With a clear, resonant cry, Longinus finally retraced his steps to the place where this three-year journey had begun.

He returned as Commodore of G2 branch this time, not aboard a warship, but sitting on Minos's back to get a feel for the skies.

The griffin landed at the branch port, and if it went directly inside the base, it would inevitably give others the impression of being rash and reckless.

While he didn't think that someone who could make it to Commodore and Rear Admiral would be hostile to a promising rising star like him over such a simple matter, it was better to keep a slightly lower profile when he rejoined.

Although the supposed lower profile was only in his own opinion;

Riots had inevitably erupted when the griffin's massive size descended on the port.

"Hell, what's that?"

"Isn't this supposed to be the griffin from the knight novels? Why would such a fictional thing appear in the real world?"

"Could it be the fruit ability?"

"Whatever it is, never let it take a step over here, we've got thousands of ordinary people behind us!"

"At the risk of the Marine's dignity, we must not let this monster pass one step through here!"

Though even their minds trembled, these marine soldiers did not choose to back down, not because they didn't want to, but because they couldn't.

Jaw!

Minos felt incredibly strong malice in the actions of these two-legged beasts, and if they hadn't been dressed in a costume that bore some resemblance to his great master, he would have winged them over.

"Minos, quiet." Longinus jumped off the back of the small griffin and asked at the bewildered marine soldiers, "I am the new Commodore Longinus, who is on duty here today?"

As these soldiers looked at each other, not knowing how to reply, a figure rushed out from the rear duty room and shouted in excitement, "Ensign Longinus, is it really you?"

"No, I should say Commodore Longinus!" Those who rushed out were too convinced of Longinus, believing even such words as three years across Ensign to Commodore in the first place.

"It's you, Will!" Longinus smiled gently, "You've become an ensign now, too!"

"Hehe!" Seeing that Longinus recognized him at first glance, Will was less restrained, "Compared to you, Boss, it's a shame that I've only been an ensign for three years!"

"To have a righteous heart is honor, where is there any shame?"

"It really is Ensign Longinus! Three years ago, it was Ensign who saved our boatload of people from the pirates, and it was because of Ensign that I signed up for the Marine ah!" A newcomer-looking Marine man said, half excited, half chagrined, "What a failure I was to recognize Ensign in the first place!"

"It's not surprising, who in our part of the sea has not been favored by Ensign?" One of the Marine's next to him looked at Longinus with adoring eyes, "Having completed the transformation from Ensign to Commodore in just three years, Ensign ... Commodore Longinus he's just amazing!"

"So that griffin is Commodore Longinus' mount?" The surrounding marines didn't have the slightest doubt about Longinus' self-declared identity, and their eyes towards Minos changed from guarded fear to curious yearning, "I've heard that the Griffin is a symbol of justice and courage. And to be the master of the Griffin, Commodore Longinus is truly the embodiment of justice!"

"The battle power of this legendary creature should be very impressive, right?"

"How could an ordinary pet Commodore Longinus look at it, if you ask me, this griffin would even be able to keep up against a sea pirate with an 80 million berries bounty on his head!"

"Maybe it's not even a match for the sea king class in the deep sea!"

Minos tilted his head slightly in arrogant disdain; he was an excellent intelligence creature and had been trained by Longinus for some time to understand the meaning of human words roughly.

For this reason, it disdained these stupid two-legged beasts that looked somewhat like the Great Master but were vastly different.

Eighty million berries are nothing; when it was being hunted by that nasty guy before, it seemed like a bounty of hundreds of millions of berries was offered for any random wing shot. As for the sea king class, that was just its after-dinner dessert.

Just the thought of being forced to eat that disgusting stuff and no longer being able to go into the sea and grab a spicy bar, Minos screamed with grief.

Will, who was talking to Longinus, also cast his gaze over, unable to hide his curiosity, "Boss, is this really the legendary Griffin?"

"Nice."

"I thought it was an ability user like Gregory's!" Will said without envy, "It's really handsome to have such a powerful and domineering mount!"

Said Will before slapping his head, "Look at my memory, I can't believe I kept you out in the sun, even the Griffins are tired of waiting, let's hurry inside now, the brothers and Commodore Adkin, and Rear Admiral Jonathan they'll be happy to see you boss!"

"The rules that should be in place are still not to be abandoned." Longinus shook his head, "You go in first and brief Vice Admiral Borsalino for the record, I'll go back in later as well."

Will knew that Longinus wouldn't change his decision if he made it, and he didn't advise much, "Then boss, wait a little while, I'll inform you right away."

Longinus had time to take stock of the marine base after three years of absence when Will left. There was a crowd gathering around it, mostly for the return of Ensign Longinus, the pride of the G2 branch, or the appearance of legendary creature Griffin.

For Longinus, being surrounded by a crowd had long been an uncommon occurrence, but the situation brought back specific bad memories for Minos.

Jaw! Jaws!

Minos crowed slightly irritably twice, and the silent release of the Top Predator's pressure suddenly turned the scene around him into a riot.

"Minos, don't be afraid; I'm here. No one can hurt you here." Longinus' voice was soft, but it seemed to carry an invisible power, and the agitated Minos quickly calmed down.

"Oh yo yo, is that the power of Haoshoku? It's amazing how you can use that kind of overbearing power to appease, Commodore Longinus you're really getting scary!" The obscene, soul-deep voice came from the back of the room, and Longinus didn't even have to look back to know who it was.

"Vice Admiral Borsalino overpraised me, but it's just a few tricks about Haoshoku." Longinus smiled.

"Commodore Longinus was as humble as ever, but ..." Borsalino smiled brightly, "I'm sure my job will be a lot easier with a competent subordinate like you. "
