CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE

CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE

Leto gave one last checking on Alice Slade's vital as her assistants left for the night. Despite that they were alone, Alice Slade remained motionless—unconscious. So, Leto was left to ponder by herself whether what she had seen and talked about with her subject was simply just her imagination's creation due to guilt.

She stopped in front of Alice Slade's bed and put her clipboard down. She stared at the young woman who was unmoving on the bed.

"Alice Slade?" she called, apprehensively. She waited but the young woman never replied nor did she moved even a little.

With a sigh, Leto turned around and left. She left the laboratory after one last check. She then made sure to lock the door behind her. As she walked down the hallway, Leto checked her watch to see she would make it in time for their meet-up.
