Chapter 2: Mysterious hero part 3

Last time on M.O.K

Si-U : but my parents, if i leave they'll worry."

So-hee : Dong-Hyuk.. if he finds out that you know about me he'll kill you. this, will also affect your parents. It's just a matter of time until he finds out and no matter what i can't lose you, so let's leave ok?

NOW

"Are you sure this is the easiest way?" si-u asks as he makes his way to the top of a boulder and looks around the forest, very large trees and bushes blocked the view in almost all directions. So-hee had told him that the closer the jade was to his body the easier it was to communicate with her without entering the dream space.

This led to him wearing it as a necklace.

"Yes," she replied from the dreamspace "as your parents have definitely received word that you're missing and have probably notified the hunters nationwide by now." He felt her uncertainty and "are you really sure? ow!" he felt a small sting from the small jade and so-hee giggle. "why did you do that?" He asked.

"you should trust your master more shouldn't you?" she suggested as-a-matter-of-factly "that aside the transfer array shouldn't be too far ahead, my only concern is that it might be damaged after so many centuries of not being used or maintained."

Si-u paused and looked behind at wan er who followed at a distance, he wasn't sure why she followed him or why after he'd exited the dream space she seem so different. She seemed stronger somehow and her attitude had changed. She also seemed a lot more eager to follow than he thought she would be. He'd sensed that she'd broken through from ki-gathering late stage to ki forming first stage and this caused her ki reserve to have grown to be immensely larger than before.

"are you worried about her?" So-hee asked softly.

"a little, after all this doesn't have anything to do with her and it could be potentially dangerous." he replied.

"Potentially is an understatement really it's just that with me here as your guide you won't have anything to worry about." so-hee interjected, then "she on the other hand won't be so lucky, I don't get why you're wasting your sympathy on her."

"She's innocent, in a certain sense she's like I was." Si-u answered.

"Innocent?" So-hee asked "have you forgotten what her brother did to you?"

"No, I haven't but was that really her fault? And unless I have proof how can I say that she'd do the same? "

"That hopeful naivety of yours really scares me sometimes." So-hee sighed. "Her thoughts right now are only about how she can use you to get her family free."

"What do you mean?" He prodded.

"I explained how my family... my clan trapped and sealed me in this place at a very young age right?" He nodded. "That bed you see in the dream space is also one of my clan's creation and the reason my cultivation was able to get to such a high level." She took a breath before continuing.

"That's a monarch grade artifact gathers and copies the memories of the everyone within a certain radius it's called the shape changing throne of creation."

She paused a little before continuing "let's say that true ki is a form of energy derived from the trained will of certain individuals. That's how you would normally cultivate and that's true for more that half the population of our Lin empire, however there are other types of ki two examples of this is natural ki which is created by plants, nature etc and dark ki which forms from the malicious intent of others over time. My cultivation grows because of a similar type of ki, and as long as there are people around the artifact can and will absorb ki in the form of memories and thoughts generated by humans as long as it isn't true ki." Si-u furrowed his brow while she continued.

"Thoughts absorbed by the artifact are also directed towards me, it's my job to turn that into ki by separating harmful from useful and although it isn't very clear I can feel people's thoughts from them and from her thoughts I can say that nothing good will come from her coming with us."

"So-hee, you trust me right?" Si-u asks after thinking in silence for a while.

"I do." She replies "but as your master I'm inclined to ask why you so suddenly asked. Don't tell me you plan to-"

"-I do." He replied smiling "after all if someone wants to use me I'll be sure to use them in return."

So-hee sighed "I'm against it, not only are there many dangers, we're also probably being chased by hunters nationwide and here you are wanting to playing hero."

"It's nothing I'll just ask, if it's too difficult then I'll refuse, ok.. master?"

"Fine," so-hee replied finally "but you better not get hurt again."

Si-u grinned "~Thanks master~ ow!" The small jade stung him once again and so-hee giggled.

After talking to wan-er and discussing her situation various things came to light. The first being the situation of wan-er's family the Divine Wind sect. They'd been under the strict control of one of the great families The Descending Heavenly Dragon since a couple years before when they were suddenly stormed by The Descending Heavenly Dragon sect after the Divine Wind's high ranking ki masters had left on the news of their missing princes reappearance.

In reality this was a trap laid out by the Descending Heavenly Dragons in order to take the Divine wind clan.

The second issue being how Wan-er planned on freeing the sect. She intended to take advantage of the Descending heavenly dragon's sect yearly tournament of geniuses where the winner gets one wish granted by the clan leader. The tournament like its name suggested was usually filled with very strong individuals, geniuses of their respective area of expertise with varying levels of cultivation all below the ki master realm. Many of them being only a step away from breaking through.

Wan-er smiled for a moment before continuing, a distant hope in her eyes. "the tournament will be held in six months and you're required to be a member of the clan or of at least an affiliate clan which the divine winds were now considered, as well as sign up at least one year in advance." she sighed dejectedly "i could get you in with my connections but half a year isn't enough time to prepare."

Si-u smiled brightly after all he'd heard so-hee's new orders from the dreamspace.

Her words?

"OH!? such unexpected fortune! If you accept, ill guarantee that afterwards you'll reap incredible rewards."
