Pancake store [Liam's POV]

"Handsome, would you lend me your car?"

That was the first line I heard from her after so many years. The shameless woman tapped my shoulder with her delicate finger and when I turned around, the face she made was everything for me, she looked so shocked that I wanted to laugh. Those pale blue eyes, that black silky hair, those soft cherry lips. She was a dream.

However, I only smiled, I couldn't mutter a single word. Then she took the keys from my hand and stole my car, what a cheeky woman.

She will never know though, but, I was waiting for her right there at that exact time. I knew she would find me someday, as I had long found her. My men were very resourceful, and I made some of them infiltrate her little group. She will kill me if she knows... sigh.

Yet, we couldn't be together. She had to be the one approaching me first, and I had to make sure to let that happen.

She took my car, well, more like she stole it, but I was well aware of that, I knew she would like it, after all, she was going to be my wife, and that was my first present.

Then as a desperate man who had just been stolen, I had to call the name on the card she shamelessly threw at my face. Eve Cote.

I didn't need to read the name, as I already knew it, but the feeling in my mouth made it real. It was happening.

"Miss Eve Cote, I want my car back."

"I know," she giggled.

She answered after several calls, how shameless. I've been waiting for her to return my car, but my Queen left me hanging. However, any way could be forgotten with the amazing way she returned it.

I took my car and she took my sanity.

That day, I wanted to slowly make her fall in love with me, to court her, to tease her. I had planned a whole day, a date with her outside in a beautiful restaurant, then a walk in the park to make her remember, and then a dance.

However, my fiery baby just had to push me down the moment she saw me, any thoughts of taking it slowly faded as dust, and I won't ever regret it, only that she left me again after three days. That cruel woman.

Anyway, I knew she had her duties and I had mine. After all, she would be mine again and this time forever, or so I thought.

That woman appeared in a black dress, the sexy kind of dress that could only look good in her. Many disgusting eyes were watching her like animals ready to devour her, I couldn't stand that, and more than anything, I couldn't bear the thought that she may be enjoying that moment.

'My dear, this time you shall be punished,' I thought and went for her. The Mansion we were in was mine, after all, and no one would dare disturb us on the balcony.

"Yes!" she screamed, her response to my proposal almost made me laugh as happiness was drowning me.

I wanted to take her with me, to escape that very moment to sign the papers and marry her, but… she was afraid, her eyes when she heard my name were the signal and I didn't understand. She escaped again that very night…

"Mister Evans, what do you need us for?"

"Eve," I said to the great Peter Lark in front of me that time. I knew what I wanted and if I knew he had already found her too.

"What would I receive if I help you?"

"Whatever you want."

"Heh… I want a promise, Mrs. Evans."

"… what is it?"

"When the time comes, you will know."

I nodded, but who cares, I would give my entire fortune if it is to find her again.

****

"What about that time?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't you remember? The time she escaped and returned pregnant. Why did she escape?"

"I…"

"Liam?"

"Shut up!"

I don't like to remember that day, I almost went crazy when I saw the note on the side table.

'Goodbye, I won't see you again, ex-husband. P.s. you should open a pancakes store.'

I sent people to watch over her assistant, her friend Maya, I kidnapped that disciple of hers, and even his CEO was constantly watched over.

She dared escape again, she dared leave me.

"Sell the apartment, sell it today!"

I didn't even want to keep that place. If I only knew, I wouldn't give that woman, Rose Mills, the address of my house. Again, that woman couldn't stop needing my help over and over, so annoying.

I let her into the shower to cool herself in the guest room and called an ambulance, but only a few minutes were enough for my cruel wife to escape my arms again.

"Dammit!"

Then I had to follow the lead, the lead of food, for six months. In every restaurant she liked, she wouldn't be able to escape her gluttony, it was her biggest weakness.

I found her again, but she wasn't moving or going out of her house, I couldn't even ambush her in the street. Why?

"Fuck! It's not yours!"

That is the worst welcome I could get, but at the same time, there was no doubt that the child growing in her stomach was mine.

I already knew we weren't careful the last time we met. I knew there could be a possibility, and, of course, there was. The chance that made me get her came in the name of a cute Mila.

A beautiful baby that liked to be treated like royalty as her daring mother, the Queen of my heart.
