Aren't They Suspicious?

We both went back to join the party. The party went exhilarating with the deafening sound of the party music being played. Groups of people also came in.

"Hey, Blue Eyes! We've been looking for you everywhere!" Adora said when she saw me. She's holding a cup and her face shows that she's already tipsy.

And Neo, trailing behind her back with a murderous glare on Travis beside me while he just gave Neo a smirk. Which seem to annoy Neo so he turned his gaze to me. Fixing his gaze at the jacket that I am wearing, then looked back at Neo who's now wearing a T-shirt.

"I was just at the beach. I wanted to breathe for a while, it's suffocating me here," I explained trying not to be offensive.

Neo's brows met when he heard my answer while Adora had a confused look on her face.

"With him?" Adora asked.

"Yeah, you know him right?" I asked her. She raised both of her arms in shoulder level and had a confused look, again. And so do I. I remember she once told me that she knew Travis and even admired him but now Travis is in front of her, she doesn't even recognise him? Weird.

"Uh, who is he?" Adora asked. I looked at Travis while he's eyeing Adora and smirked. He had this familiarity with Adora.

"He's Travis, Adora. I thought you know him?"

Surprisingly, she doesn't even moved or even blink. She just stared at Travis blankly and crossed her arms. They sure are weird.

"Maddie, wanna go have a drink?" Neo said, breaking the cold ice between us. I agreed and followed him to the bar counter leaving the two behind.

"You really seem to know each other well already," he started when he finished ordering a tequila. I think he drank a lot already by the look on his face, it's already red.

"With who?" I asked even though I know who he's pertaining to.

He scoffed. "Travis."

"I think so," and as I answered my mind betrayed me when it flashed back to the moments we had earlier. Especially to that kiss. That kiss made a great impact to me I don't know why I felt my stomach filled with butterflies.

Neo didn't talked back when his tequila arrived followed by my cocktail order. I told myself I won't be drunk tonight, I'm a total mess when I'm drunk. I can't let my friends take care of my drunk ass when they are supposed to be enjoying the night.

We fell awfully silent the next minute even though the music was defeaning. Adora is nowhere to be found and Neo is already drunk, I think because he kept on mumbling something that I couldn't hear. And my conscience will kill me if I leave him here alone.

"Travis, you asshole," he mumbled. His head is already resting at the counter top. I can feel his breaths are getting heavy as his shoulders are dramatically rising up and down.

"You asshole, you're doing dirty to me again," he continued. I can't take my ass away from him as my curiosity is drawing me closer to him.

I already saw them talking to each other and there's this familiarity that can be seen both in their eyes. A history of the both of them that is yet to be unravelled, that they both want to keep hidden in the Chamber of Secrets. As much as I want to know more about them, about their relationship before, I will keep my butt away from it. I can see a red flag if I stick my nose to it.

Neo's body finally gave up and he got completely knocked out. I don't know what to do, and I can't and won't carry him out of here because for goodness sake I'm a woman and he's a big mammal. I tried calling Adora but she won't answer and so I did it again until she'll answer me. I bet she's busy with boys right now.

"Hey!! Who's this?" she shouted when she answered the call and I automatically put the phone away from my ear to avoid eardrum complications. She's too loud and also drunk.

"Can you help me with Neo? We are at the bar counter," I told her and hoping she comprehended it well.

"Yeah sure! Wait for me there!" she said and hung up. I just hope that the angels will grant my prayers that Adora will be here completely sane.

Minutes passed and I unexpectedly saw Travis entering the bar alone. I thought he's just going to pass right at us but he looked at Neo helplessly.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him. He checked Neo and sighed.

"Your friend, Adora, told me to come over here saying that you need help but she didn't tell me that the help she meant was this," he said pointing at the sleeping Neo.

I apologised to him and helped him carry Neo to his back. It looks awkward but Travis didn't mind at all. We went outside and went directly to his car. He forcefully put Neo down at the back seat which thankfully didn't wake him up.

"Get in," he commanded.

"But--"

"I'll take care of your car, just get in. We'll bring him home," he said and entered the car. I just followed him and removed his jacket and gave it to him. It's getting colder and he's just wearing a plain t-shirt.

"It's cold. Wear that, I'm fine," I said when I handed him the jacket which he did not hesitated to get and wear it. He must be feeling really cold.

He revived the car engine and heated it up before driving away from the party. I hope Adora will keep her head straight and get home safely. She's a bit wreck less at times. She must be handled with care like a fragile expensive product. She's precious to me.
