Chapter 8

Aya stormed to the back of the room, she couldn't get out of these clothes fast enough. She was gathering her things when she heard a voice.

"You can't quit, how will you pay your rent? Admit it you need this job."

Aya slammed her locker closed. "I'll find another job, I am not going to stay here so you can verbally abuse me longer." She pushed past her manager.

"You won't find another job."

Aya closed the door behind her drowning out the manager's voice. She walked to the beach and stopped where the ocean kissed the sand. It was 10 o'clock in the evening. Her phone vibrated.

"I know it is super late."

"How was your day?"

"I was wondering if I could take you out tomorrow?"

Her anger turned in to tears now.

Finally, the practice was over. "Alright, guys! Let's go home and rest, tomorrow we will be at it again." The guys let out a groan.

Hoseok picked up his bag, he took out his phone, 10 o'clock already. He wondered if she was home. He sent her three separate messages. They climbed in the car, his phone vibrated.

"I am on my way home. My day began great... It ended badly."

"I am sorry to hear that. Would you like to talk about it?"

"I don't want to bother you."

"You are not bothering me. Tell me what is wrong?"

Jimin touched his shoulder. "Hobi, we are home." Hoseok looked up, he didn't even notice. "Thanks, Jimin." They were the last ones out of the car. "Hobi, who are you texting? You look worried."

Hoseok looked at Jimin. "I..." He wanted to tell him. Jimin placed his hand on his shoulder.

"You can tell me." Hoseok had to because Jimin had to help him out tomorrow.

"I am texting the girl we met yesterday evening."

"You are!?" Jimin couldn't hide the excitement in his voice.

"And!?"

Hoseok smiled. "She is perfect. She seemed a bit down at the moment, I am trying to find out what is wrong."

Jimin clapped his hands together. "Hobi! I am so happy for you, is this the reason Joonie is so upset with you?"

Hoseok nodded. "Yes, but I think he is stressed."

"Yeah, but it looks like he is picking on you a bit hard. Let's go in, so you can give your girl a call."

Hoseok couldn't help to smile at Jimin's words, 'his girl.'

Aya stared at her phone. "You are not bothering me, tell me what's wrong?" She was still standing on the beach, her face stained with dried tears.

"A group of customers ruined my evening, one of them tripped me, so I spilled their food on them. I called them out but my manager belittled me in front of them. So I stormed off and quitted my job..."

Fresh tears rolled down her cheek. She took off her shoes and stood so the ocean water can tickle her feet. She didn't know what she's going to do now.

She needed that job to pay for her lousy apartment. She let out a sigh, the money at the sanctuary won't cover her rent this month.

Her phone vibrated, she started at the screen, Hoseok was calling. She froze up, finally answering.
