Chapter 38

"Y...You."

"Say it Aya."

"You told me that something about Luke bothered you because of his sudden proposal. I think your exact words were 'Luke is playing you like a fiddle and you are jumping into the creeps hands' and I defended him."

Carl smiled at her. "And what else?"

"I should not marry him, because I started to express my doubts to you."

"Which were?"

"That he and Cassandra were getting too friendly with each other."

Carl held her gaze. "Let it out Aya."

"We went away for a weekend because you felt that I had to get away before stepping in as a wife for a guy you did not approve off."

"Go on."

"We got back an...and we found out what a slimeball Luke really was."

"And?"

"I had my panic attack because my world crashed down around me, you were there you are always there."

Carl put his tea down. "And I will always be here, Aya. There is no way I will leave you to fend off the wolves on your own, I promised your parents at their grave that I will look after you."

Aya looked at him questioningly. "You promised my parents?"

Carl smiled at her, reaching over the table taking her hand. "You are like my little sister, I will do anything for you. Now tell me about Jung Hoseok."

Aya's cheeks flushed, averting her gaze.

"Hoseok doesn't make me feel like a trophy he should earn, he treats me like a human being."

Carl squeezed her hand, urging her on.

"He considers my deepest feelings, he gives me confidence, he makes me feel like I am free-falling."

"That is how you are supposed to feel, Aya. No one should make you feel afraid in a relationship."

Aya squeezed Carl's hand.

"I never felt that way around Luke, I was too afraid to give my opinion on something, but with Hoseok he truly listens to me, he makes me blush, he teases."

Carl smiled at her words, letting go of her hand, he leaned back on the couch.

"And that makes him right for you Aya, he brings out the best in you."

"The best in me?"

"Yes the best in you, you can deny it all you want but you are a bit of a hermit."

Aya scoffed.

"Yes, you are and Hoseok is very outgoing, he is the one who will help you be the best you can be."

Aya placed her finger on her chin thinking at Carl's words.

"Wait a minute! How do you know so much of Hoseok's personality?"

Carl scratched his head nervously. "Well uh...Uhm I..."

Aya narrowed her eyes. "You are a fan of his?"

Carl averted her gaze from her. "I... We are not here to talk about me. We are here to talk about your man trouble!"

Aya threw him with a pillow. "I think the tables have changed!"

Carl caught the pillow before it hit him in the face when he lowered it, Aya was in his face.

"W... What?"

"You are a fan of his! Omg, why didn't you tell me you are fanboying over him?!"

"How do you tell your little sister/BFF you are fanning over her new boyfriend?"

Aya was red to the tip of her ears at the mention of boyfriend, she playfully clapped Carl's knee.

Carl started laughing.
