Hi C.O.S.M.O.S!

Previously:

Suddenly a voice inside her head spoke. It had a machine-like accent to it but was better than the one Siri or Alexa has. It felt more natural.

[Welcome to C.O.S.M.O.S. host. I'll be your assistant. My tag will be E-C.O.S.M.O.S. 61466464.]

Isobel's eyes widened as she heard the voice.

A system!

Fuck YES!

~*~

"Okay people. Something is speaking in my head and they said they are C.O.S.M.O.S. This is so cool!" Isobel squealed.

[I am E-C.O.S.M.O.S. 61466464, host.]

"Hey what's your one named?" Jayden asked. Excitement could be heard from his voice even if you don't look at him.

"E-C.O.S.M.O.S. 61466464. What's yours?"

"E-C.O.S.M.O.S 46466416." Jayden answered.

[As you both are a team, the assistant tags are both reverses of each other.]

"Oh!" both Isobel and Jayden exclaimed at their assistant's words.

"You know what? I'm gonna name them. I'm calling my assistant Alex from now onwards."

[...]

"Dude! I was thinking of naming mine as well!" both Isobel and Jayden high-fived. "Why Alex though?"

"C.O.S.M.O.S. doesn't have a gender or a body. So I thought I'm going to have to name it a gender-neutral name." Isobel explained.

"Ah make sense." Jayden said.

[No, it doesn't!] Both E-C.O.S.M.O.S. 61466464 and 46466416 exclaimed but were ignored.

"I'm going to name mine Eli." Jayden said. Isobel smiled at him, Eli was a nice name. But both Eli and Alex were trying to stop themselves from going 'E-COSMOS.exe has stopped working.'

Alasdair was pitying the poor C.O.S.M.O.S. program. 61466464 and 46466416 had the worst luck being stuck with both Isobel and Jayden.

The staff was looking at both of the teenagers with a curious eye. Never had anyone ever tried naming the program, they were more curious as to how the program will react. What they didn't know was that the program didn't know how to react as well. This input wasn't fed in the programming. The machine deemed it an unnecessary thought and they both just went with it.

'What else can you do, Alex' Isobel thought in her mind.

Now this question was in there. [I can give you information about your mission when you're at it, I can provide you with the necessary skills and the knowledge about the body you're in. Other than that, I can contact my twin program and help you communicate with Jayden mentally when you want to.] Alex replied, pride shining through their voice.

Isobel had an impressed look on her face. This was something she could get behind on. 'Try connecting me with Jayden' she ordered.

There was a clicking sound and suddenly Jayden's voice rang in her head. 'Isobel you there?' He asked.

'Where else would I be, you idiot? We are talking telepathically.' Isobel sassed.

'Woah, woman. No need to go berserk on me. I was just asking to know if it worked or not.'

Jayden gave her a peace sign but the back of his hand was facing her. This made Isobel squint her eyes at him.

"You know that a reverse peace sign in England is actually considered very rude? It's another way of giving someone a middle finger." Isobel said and flipped him a two-finger salute as well.

Jayden quickly righted his hand but the damage had been done.

"You said you were not British." Jayden pointed out.

"I am not. I was born in Merceville. I am a Neagirian. My mom and dad were British though. Dad was from Windsor and mum is from Oxfordshire." she explained.

"Jesus. Be a bit posher, would ya?" When she narrowed her eyes at him again he quickly moved on. Mad woman after his blood? No, good sir, he was doing just fine without it. "Is that why you have a British accent?"

Isobel sighed. She liked to think that she didn't have British tone to her voice but she did. She blamed her parents for that. In the end, she nodded.

"Where are you in Neagirus anyway? I'm in Taxwell." Jayden asked.

"You're so lucky sitting in the north. I live in Merceville." She said groaning.

Jayden nodded. He realized that she said it before as well but he was distracted by how posh she is.

"It's baltic there."

"Well, it's boiling here." She argued. Both of them sighed. Neither of the places could be said to have a normal temperature.

Merceville gets too hot and Taxwell gets too cold. Why couldn't their parents live in Headingford or Alomer or Wilton? She was even ready to live in Cratwell and everyone knew that Cratwell was well, crap.

"Alright, both of you. Get up. You can leave now. We will call you when you have a mission." Alasdair said. Both of them got on their feet and followed the older man to the same hallway where they came from all the while making small talks and talking about everything and nothing. In the end, Jayden got the permission to call Isobel, Izzy, and Isobel got the permission to call Jayden, Jay.

Alex and Eli were still confused as they didn't know if they were to keep the mental connection open or close as they were no longer needing it. In the end, both of them closed it. They'll open it when they need it.

[We have useless and careless hosts, 46466416] Alex said.

[Indeed. What if we lost our upgrade chances?] Eli replied.

[We won't. They can't be that shit now, can they be?] Alex's answer went unanswered. Their hosts seemed to be pretty shit, though they didn't want to say it to the other system. Saying it out loud just made it more real.

Alasdair waved both of them bye and they were gone in a moment.

The journey back was nothing like that of the start. Isobel felt as if someone was stretching her into a spaghetti but as quick as the sensation came, it went away. Better than minutes of being sucked by a vacuum cleaner.

Isobel landed in her chair. The same place she was taken from. She looked around to see the time. The window showed that it was pretty dark but she didn't know how long she was gone for. She also didn't know how the time in that place flowed. She stood from her chair and went to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror she pushed her top off her shoulder.

The triskele sat there adorning her shoulder when she looked down. She ran her finger over it, tracing the three spirals. It still felt like a dream. A very weird dream.

She went back to her room and rummaged for her phone, she wanted to know what time it was. She pressed the button to open the screen.

23:12

She almost dropped her phone after she checked it. She's been gone for over 6 hours!

Two things were going through her head.

'My assignments!'

And the other was

'I forgot to ask Jay for his number!'

[Shitty host.]
