Set On Fire

Isobel opened her eyes and closed them again. Her vision wasn't clear. She pulled her hand to rub her eyes but that's when she noticed it. Her hands were tied behind her back. Isobel in a fit of panic tried to push the bindings apart. Her eyes were wide and full of fear. That's when she coughed and realized.

Her vision wasn't distorted, she was surrounded by smoke. This only made her more terrified. She started whimpering and pulled at the robes harder. The cracking of the fire in the background did nothing to ease her.

"Izzy?" Jayden's voice cut through to her from behind her back and she almost cried in relief.

"Oh thank god, Jay." She said, "Do you know where we are?". Jayden was quiet for a while but he answered. "I woke up from my stupor a minute or two ago. That's when I realized we are in a circle of fire surrounded by smoke and chanting people. I think we are in the middle of a ritual."
