I looked at both of the kits that were coughing up blood, and then I looked at the mates. They were both freaking out, and so was I, though I did not show it. They were dying, and I was pretty sure of it, they were coughing worse than I had even seen Oister cough.
I did my best to stay calm for the others. Though, I was not feeling too calm myself... I looked over at the fence, Limp needed to come back fast! There was nothing that could be done now, I had lost all of the tansy when the twolegs had caught me.
But I was not sure that would even help the kits, I could tell they did not have that much longer in them. I looked up at the stars for a few moments, just searching for guidance. Had they really brought them this far just too lose the kits?
It did not make sense, surely they would refuse to follow me, if their kits died because of me... If they had just given the kits to the shelter, then the kits would have been fine. I closed my eyes for a few moments, I was freaking out like the rest of them now.
I had to stay calm, that is what any leader should do... I had to prove to them that I was a leader. I could tell most of them were not too sure that I was qualified for that spot quite yet. Now was my time to prove it to them, I then opened my eyes at the mates.
They were paying to attention, I could see that the she cat was crying for help, and the tom was doing nothing to help her or make her feel better, his eyes were just wide and he did not know what to do. I stood there for a few moments, and then I saw the she cat run at me and throw me to the ground.
I did my best to get up, but I was just so stunned because I had not expected that, and she was holding me down on the ground. I opened my eyes so see her breathing on my face, and hissing at me, her mate was doing nothing to help me... I did not really blame him for it I suppose.
"You killed my kits! They would have been fine, if it was not for you, and your fake religion!" She yelled at me. I looked at her a slight bit scared for a few moments. But then my face turned into a fair amount of confusion, I had no idea what the word religion even meant in the first place.
I sat there for a few moments, and I just let her dig her claws into my pelt, I was guilty... I had really let all of the cats down. I was a failure, which was always the one thing that I had always been afraid of... And now, here were, I was failing her.
"I... I... I am sorry... They told me to get you, I do not blame you for it... I tried to help you, help save the kits..." I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she began to hiss at me once again. Clearly she was not buying into a single word that I had just said to her.
I was not beginning to wonder if, starclan was even real... Were they just a figment of my imagination? I looked up at the sky, to see if I could see them looking at me from the stars... But as I looked up, there were no stars for me to see.
I closed my eyes, in pain once again. I knew that they were real, I was not the only one that had seen them. Had I failed them? What had I done wrong? Graywing had just come to me saying that I had done everything right up to this point.
As I opened them, I saw that the stars were glimmering even more than ever. I knew, that whatever this was, it was all a part of some big plan. A plan that I was not even sure of what it could be quite yet. I then looked back at the she cat as she began talking back to me.
"You didn't... One of my kits is already dead because of you! Now we are about to lose 2 more! 3 dead kits and 1 living kit is a lot worse than 0 dead kits and 4 living ones." She said to me. Honestly, I did not know what to say back to that, she was 100% right about that.
This time I heard her mate step up, and I was a bit surprised at the words that he said to her. I would not have thought to say those words, and maybe they would have not done the same amount of work as it would if he was the one saying it.
"Storm... We would never get to see them again. They may as well be dead, and if they don't get adopted before the moon ends, than they will get killed. They are still alive, we must keep hope in them until the others bring back the medicine." He said to her. She turned her head over to him for a few moments.
She looked at him, squinting her eyes at him, and then she got off of me. I sat there for a few moments, and then I finally pulled myself up from off of the ground. I turned my head over to Piper, and I nodded to him thanking him. I was grateful for him, he had put those words into her head.
We all sat there for a few moments, each of us looking at the kits, they were still alive... But I could tell that they were in bad condition. I was not sure how much longer they had left, or if it was too late, and the cure would not help them at all. I just had to keep faith that starclan would not let them pass quite yet.
I expected one of the starclan cats to visit me at any moment now, just to make sure I knew that they were listening. But it still seemed as if I was alone on this right now. I turned my head when I heard the footsteps of other cats walking towards me fairly quickly.
The cats were in a rush, I knew right away what cats it was. Limps footsteps stood out for me because of the Limp that she walked on. I turned my head over to them, to see that each of them were carrying tons of catmint on them. I nodded to the gratefully, as Limp, who I could tell was very worried about the kits in particular walked over and crushed the cat mint.
For a few moments, the kits refused to eat any of it. So then Limp shoved the catmint into their mouths, for a few moments I thought Storm was going to get angry about that, but now I could see that she was beginning to understand what we were doing, and why...
The kits gulped in down their throats, and Limp began to pur happily. I squinted my eyes at her, a bit surprised, but then I nodded to myself. She looked as if she was enjoying this, and that she wanted to be a medicine cat, but we would see when the time comes.
I thought the same for Oister for a short amount of time, but she wanted to have more kits, and she also wanted to go out and hunt, and learn how to fight. Limp I could tell was quite a bit different than that however, but I did not want to recommend it to her, because I did not know if she would get upset or not.
Once Limp made sure that all 3 of the kits had eaten the catmint, she then turned her head over to the mates. She began talking, I thought she was just going to calm them down, but I did not expect her to say these exact words to them, I had completely forgotten about them as well...
"You two are sick as well... There is plenty to go around..." Limp said to them. Storm looked as if she was about to say something about it, but then I saw her mate shake his head at her. She then nodded back to Limp gratefully, and she began to eat the small piece of catmint.
Piper did the same as well, nodding to her thankfully. Limp nodded back to them, and she began walking over to me. As she sat down beside me, she looked over at the others, and then back over at the kits, making sure that they were okay as they were sitting beside their parents. Then she nodded happily, she was enjoying her work, I was happy for her.
"Thank you so much Limp... I can not express how much me and my mate are happy that you have saved our kits and us... We did not want to lose ours kits and each other." He said to her. Limp looked at them for a few moments, squinting her eyes, as she looked back over at the kits, she then nodded.
I wondered what it was that she was thinking about. I then shook my head, it was none of my business, I was just happy for her, and I was happy for the mates and their kits. I turned my head over to Briar and Shadow, Shadows fur was tilted up, but he did not say anything.
I looked at Briar a bit confused as to why that was so, and what had happened when Limp had gone into the yard. There was no way that Sphinx had attacked them right? She was a friendly dog by the looks of it, and when she had talked to me... Maybe she was not happy that they were stealing some of her catmint.
"What's up with him Briar?" I said to him. Shadow looked up at me, he looked a bit angry, but he was not angry at me as far as I could tell. He turned his back away from us, as he looked over at the fence, with quite a bit of an angry look on his face.
I turned my head over to Briar, waiting for his response, I saw Briar grin a little bit as he then turned the grin into a laugh, I wish I could have seen the look on the face of Shadow when he had seen that the dog had begun talking. But I suppose I had to stay here to clarify to the mates why it was important to be with me.
"He freaked out and went crazy when the dog started talking, tried to attack the dog... But we stopped him, it was a really cool dog." He said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, and then I began to smile. I wish I would have been with them one last time to have talked to Sphinx, but I was happy that they had at least got to talk to her one last time.
I was pretty sure that I would not ever be back here again. There was no reason for me to be heading around Shadowclan territory, especially if I was going to be leading Windclan. I closed my eyes for a few moments, and then opened then and smiled.
"Did you say anything about me to her?" I asked him. He looked at me for a few moments, and then he nodded to me, with a bit of a happy look on his face. I smiled, I really wish that I could have seen her one last time, but I was just happy to know that she was still doing okay.
"Yes... She wished you good luck on your journeys..." He said to me. I looked at him, and smiled, and then I turned my head back to the other cats that were with me in the small little path that we were on right now. The mates were busy staring at their kits, and Limp was looking at the stars.
I figured I would enjoy these moments for a few moments longer, but then I realized that we had the cure, and Oister was still in a lot of trouble... I was not sure how much longer she had, not to mention the fact that Kettle and Mint were worried out of their minds right now.
This had taken a bit longer than they had expected, they thought that it was just going to be one day and done. It had nearly taken us 3 days already, we needed to get back to the others as soon as possible. I sat there for a few moments, and then I heard Limp say something over to the mates.
"They will need this probably another time, and same for you unless you want to risk it, we have plenty with us." She said to them. Nodding to Briar and Shadow who also had a lot standing with them in their mouths. I looked at her and nodded, even though I knew that she could not see it, I was happy for her that she was stepping up.
But now it was my turn to step up, and be a good leader. We had to make sure that Oister was okay, and that she was going to make it. We had to bring the catmint to her as soon as possible. I walked over to each one of them, and nodded to the mates as well.
"Okay guys... Go ahead pick up your kits, we need to go, Oister is very sick, and it is not safe out here for one thing." I said to them. Storm looked over at Piper, which was what she usually did, when she did not want to make the decision, I could tell that Piper was the leader of their small little group, even though he did not talk very much.
Piper looked at his mate for a few moments, and then he turned his head over to me, blinking a few times. He then nodded to me, pointing me over to pick up one of the kits and help carry it. I gladly picked up the same kit that I had been carrying earlier, and then I nodded to them to make sure that they were ready.
I looked over at Storm mainly, she was the one that I was most worried about, I was not sure if she liked me very much quite yet, or maybe she was just being a little bit overprotective about her kits. Well, maybe a bit more than just a little bit...
"Lets go... It is not that far away now..." I said to them. I looked at each one of them, as they all nodded to me. Limp looked at me as well, and she then nodded to me last... Which came as a bit of a surprise to me, because she was the one out of the rest of them that knew that I was the leader.
I did not think too deep on it however, as I turned my head, noticing that the sky was beginning to light up in the sky, it was nearly day time. It scared me quite a bit as well... I did not know if the tansy would hold off Oister for very much longer, she needed the real medicine that would help her.
I was mainly worried about the fact of her just falling asleep this night, if she was on deaths bed right now, then falling asleep was the last thing that you wanted to do. Even though I was not a medicine cat, I knew that it was one thing for sure that all cats knew.
If you went to sleep, you most likely would never wake up from it. I closed my eyes for a few moments, trying not to think to deep on it at all. As I then blinked to open my eyes, we needed to hurry up and hit the path... I knew where we were at now that I could see because of the sun light.
I took the first steps for the rest of them, I knew that they would not know where we were going. Maybe Storm and Piper might know at least, considering the fact that Summer had said that she had met them not too long ago.
But I did not feel like telling them about the cat that they had met right now, they might not even know who I was talking about, or the exact direction that they had gone too in the first place.
I smiled, we were nearly there, I just hoped that starclan would make it all okay, I did not want to lose Oister yet, we had gone so far... Kettle would be devastated if he lost his mate. I kept on walking with the others following right behind me.
We were nearly there, the sun had fully risen up in the sky at this point, and I could see the exact abandoned twoleg nest that I had seen no more than a couple of days ago. I began speeding up a little bit, even though I knew that I should not be doing that.
I could tell that Storm was beginning to struggle to carry her kits... I was thinking about telling her to let them walk themselves, but I could tell that they could not make it long just walking alone. They were less than a half a moon old, not too mention they were sick as well.
I shook my head, as I walked up to the abandoned twolegs nest. Piper then began to realize that he had been at this place before, and he had a bit of a smile on his face as he recognized where we were at, he must have made friends with Summer, she had not told me about that.
"Oh! Summer! That is my younger sister! Is this where we are headed?" Piper said to me. Looking at me dead in my eyes, he was hoping that I was going to say yes. It came as a bit of a surprise to me, they looked nothing alike, none the less she had not told me about that at all.
I nodded to Piper, trying not to drop his kit at the same time. He began to grow even more excited than he was a few moments ago. I looked at him for a few moments, happy to see that he was happy as well. I then nodded to him as he began to walk over to the fence.
I followed him, and so did the rest of the cats that we were with. By now I could tell that neither Briar nor Shadow had no idea where we were at, this had probably been outside of the range of the places that they had lived at, I did not think too deep on it, that was the least of my worries right now.
I watched as Piper put his kit over the small little hole that was in the fence. I watched as he hopped on top of the fence, and then he jumped down onto the other side. Next was his mate, as she did the same thing as well.
Once she had done that, I did the same thing, hopping on top of the fence, and then making sure that the kit that I had just put across the other side was okay. Once I knew that he was okay, and that he was with his parents, I sat down with the rest of them.
Then watching as the other cats that were with us did the same thing that we had just done. I nodded to each one of them as they made it to the other side, Limp being the last of us. I was a bit surprised that she had actually ran over to it, knowing that she had a limp on her.
I did not think too deep on it, mainly because my mind was on other thoughts that were now swarming through my head right now. I did not see Oister nor Summer anywhere to be seen at all. I looked around further into the yard, but still no luck at all.
Had Summer gone out looking for some more tansy? I closed my eyes for just a few moments, trying to imagine where they might have been. But I had no idea in my right mind where they could be, how could Oister even make it over one of those fences right now? I knew that she was a strong cat, but she was sicker than she had ever been.
"Where is Summer and Oister?" I said out loud, more as a thought that I was questioning to myself. Piper stepped up and answered right away thankfully, as he knew where they might be. Which would make sense considering that they were kin.
"They are probably inside the abandoned twoleg place, that is where Summer spends most of her day... If your friend is sick as well, it probably is a good idea to stay inside..." He said to me. I looked at him and then nodded, I did not want to go into another abandoned twolegs nest right now, but I suppose that we had no other choice.
I did not want to go into any twolegs nest, because I did not like twolegs, but an abandoned one was worse to me, there were so many creatures that could be hiding in there, not to mention the fact that there could be nasty and mean cats in there, like the cats that I had met earlier.
We all began to walk into the twolegs nest anyways, I smelt mice everywhere, and I began to realize how hungry I was... I had done nothing but run and walk non stop the last day or so, it would make sense at the fact that I was so hungry.
I shook my head though, I needed to worry about Oister before I could worry about myself however, that would make me a bad leader, if I was out hunting while one of my best friends was dying. I closed my eyes and just kept on walking with the others.
The other cats that were with me seemed to be perfectly fine with the smell that was in the air, like it was normal to them, or even maybe the enjoyed the smell. We kept on walking as I shook my head at the raunchy stench that was in the air.
I then heard footsteps in the other room, as each of the other cats then stopped directly in their path. All of them were freaking out besides Piper and Storm who looked to be as calm as ever, which would make sense considering the fact that they had been in here before.
Seeing that they were fine, I began to calm down a little bit, the footsteps were probably just Summer in the other room, hopefully Oister, I still was hanging on to the hope that she was in good condition, though I heavily doubted that to be true.
"Summer? Are you there?" Piper said to the cat that was in the other room. For a few moments there was nothing but silence, and I was beginning to grow a bit worried, but then I heard the voice of another cat responding to Piper, thankfully I voice that I knew as well.
"Piper? Yes, I am okay... But there is a sick cat in here, I don't want you to get sick as well, so don't come in, I will meet you out here." She said back to Piper. I sat there for a few moments, waiting for her to walk into the room with us.
I did not know if she would be more happy to see her brother, or the fact that she was going to see me, with the cure to save Oister. I began to smile, if she meant that there was a sick cat, that had to mean that Oister was still alive, surely right?
I waited, as I listened to the footsteps, as they drew closer and closer to the small corridor that we were in right now. Then I saw the face of a cat that I had seen just a few days ago pop out of the little crack. Looking right at Piper, but then realizing that there were other cats with him.
"Whoah! You got kits? Wait who are all of these other cats that are-" She began to say, but as she turned her head over to me, she instantly knew what was going on right away. She then stopped herself and nodded to me. "Moon! Your mate is sick! She needs help badly! Do you have the cure?"
I looked at her, and then rolled my eyes, I did not know why she kept on continuing on with the saying that she was my mate. I had already told her that it was just a friend of mine. I looked at her and then nodded, pointing my head over to the cats that were carrying the catmint.
"Yes... We need to get in as soon as possible, how sick is she?" I asked her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she turned her head back to the doorway of the room that she was just in. I could tell that she was worried, which meant that what she was about to say next was not good news.
I looked down at the ground, I just had to hope that we were not too late. I looked up at the ceiling of the room, and began to pray to starclan that they would make sure that my friend was safe. They had helped me out so much so far... Just please help me out with this.
I turned my head back up, as I then began to hear Summer start to respond to what I had just said. I nodded to her, giving her my full attention to what she was about to say about my friend.
"She is very sick... She is not even comprehending the fact that I am talking to her... I am not sure how much longer she has left... So 1 or 2 of you follow me in the room, I don't want the rest of you to get sick." She said to me. I looked over at the other cats, and then I nodded to Limp right away.
"Alright... We need to hurry then... I don't want to lose her." I said to each one of the cats that were with me in the room. Each of them nodded to me, showing that they fully understood what I was getting at. Even Shadow was acting calm for once...
Limp began to follow me, I then saw that Summer was a bit surprised and a bit confused at the same time. Wondering why she was coming into the room with me and her. Which I was confused about as well, she had said to bring another cat in with me.
I put down Storm and Pipers kits, and then nudged it slowly over to the mates, who then nodded to me gratefully, and then I began to pay attention to Summer, as I heard her begin to talk to me.
"What is she doing? That is a kit! She could get sick worse than me or you." She said to me. I looked at her a bit surprised, and then I turned my head over to Limp. Limp looked at the cat, with a bit of an angry look on her face, even though she did have anger issues, I did not blame her for being angry for this one.
Limp stepped up for herself this time, which surprised me. She did not respond with any sense of anger or hatred either. Which also surprised me quite a bit as well, I nodded to her and let her speak her voice in the encounter.
"I am going to be the next medicine cat of Windclan, I know more about herbs than you will ever know about hunting or fighting, so watch your tongue." She said to her. Summer moved back a little bit surprised, and she looked at me as if she was waiting for me to say something back, but I just shrugged my shoulders at her.
What Limp had just said, had proven that she had learned quite a bit over the last couple of days. She acted calm and steady when she said those words. It brought a smile to my face as well when she said the fact that she was going to be the next medicine cat of Windclan.
I looked at each of the cats. Then I took the first step into the room, by now we were wasting far too much time, we needed to go and make sure that Oister was okay, and save her as well. The other 2 then began to follow right behind me thankfully.
As we got into the room, I saw that Oister was sitting there in the corner with her eyes closed. I squinted my eyes at her, and then I began to move a little but quicker to get over to her. It looked as if she was not breathing, which badly worried me. I turned my head over to Limp.
"Is she dead?" I said to Limp. Limp looked at me a bit surprised, and then she turned her head over to Oister. Squinting her eyes at our friend, she too began to get a little bit worried at the fact that she might be gone as well.
I turned my head over to Summer, who was beginning to talk, I could tell that she was beginning to look a bit worried as well, when was the last time that Summer had checked on her? I closed my eyes, as I listened to what Summer was saying to me and Limp.
"It can't be, I just saw her with her eyes open when you guys got here! There is no way!" She said to us. I looked at her for a few moments, and then I looked back over at Limp. Had she really passed the moment that we had walked into the room? Would Starclan really allow that to happen to us?
Limp then walked over to her and she put the side of her head, near her ears on the side of her chest. I looked at her for a few moments, Limp just kept on sitting there, I could tell that she was looking for a beat of the heart. I closed my eyes...
We had really lost Oister... I then heard Limp say something to me, but the tone of her voice did not seem like a very good tone. I opened my eyes to hear what it was that she had to say.
"She is still warm... Which might not matter, if she had just passed recently, I am looking for a heart beat, but I can feel nor hear any signs." She said to us. I looked at her. I then began to shiver, surely this could not be real right? There was no way that it could be true...
I moved over to try to do the same thing that Limp had just done. Listening closely to hear if I could feel the blood pumping through her body from her heart. It seemed to do no such sort of luck at all however.
But, just as I was about to give up, I heard faint shiver, as I realized that it was not a heart beat, but it was the fact that Oister had lifted herself up. I picked myself up from off of her, and then I looked at her. Quite a bit surprised, as she seemed to know what was going on around her.
It was the opposite of what Summer had just said about her, she looked over to me, I could still see that she was moving very slow, and she was still very sick. But she began to speak to us with quite a raspy tone in her voice, I was just happy to see that she was still alive.
"Moon? Where have you been? Limp, you! Is this a dream? Where am I?" She said to us. Looking around at the room, she tried to get herself up, but then she feel back down the moment that she tried. I stopped her before she had an unsteady landing on the ground.
I looked at my friend for a few moments, and then smiled. I saw that Limp was a bit embarassed, I wondered why, but then I remembered the last time that she had talked to Oister. Some harsh words had been said to her that day, to all of us at least...
"No... This is real Oister, you are sick... We took you here with our friend Summer, we have the cure... You are going to be okay!" I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, still a bit confused. Then she looked over at Summer, and she seemed to remember all that had happened right away just in a flash.
She turned her head back over to me and then she nodded to me. She then began to smile, I smiled back at her, just happy to see that my friend was going to be okay... Happy to see that she was still alive... She always seemed to bring a light to all of her days, I could not imagine a world without her.
"I was always going to be okay... I didn't need that medicine!" She said to me and Limp. Limp looked at her, and I could tell that she did not believe a word that had just come out of Oisters mouth. Neither did I, so it made sense, as she continued talking to us. "But I will take it, I do feel a bit sick for sure."
Me and Limp laughed a bit. Then Limp handed a bigger piece of catmint, than she had given the kits over to Oister. It made sense however, the kits were much younger, and they did not need nearly as big of a dose as she had just given to Oister.
Oister took the catmint, and then began to eat it up happily. Looking at me and Limp happily. I could tell that she was happy to see us both back together, and both of us were in good hands. She then looked over at Limp, a bit confused. It seemed as if Limp knew just about exactly what she was about to say to her.
"Starclan sent me to find you... I am sorry for what I did that day..." She said to her. Oister squinted her eyes at her, trying to see if she really went what she had just said. Both me and Oister could tell that she meant each word however, even if Oister was not in the condition to even be thinking properly.
Oister then smiled at our friend, and then she nodded to her. I had remembered the story that Oister had told me about her kits, and how she had not even told Kettle about that story. It proved how close I was to all of the cats that I was with, they trusted me to be their leader.
Oister then looked back at me, she looked a bit afraid now, which confused me a little bit. I then began to pay attention to her as she began talking to me, and now I began to understand why she was a bit afraid...
"Are Kettle and Mint okay?" She asked me. I looked at her for a few moments, I hoped that they were okay, they were in a bit of a secluded area, maybe being there for a few days was exactly what Mint needed to finish the final stages of all of her healing. I just hoped that they weren't worried and had gone looking for us.
That would definitely spell some trouble for us for sure. I could only imagine them finding this insanely large twoleg place, and exploring it, searching for us. We had not gone too long, so I just hoped that they had not gone to those measure quite yet.
"I am sure they are... I was busy trying to find those cats I was talking about. I found them... A couple others as well..." I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she nodded to me and then she smiled. She then blinked her eyes at me and Limp... She then began talking to us two.
"Now that I know that all of you are going to be okay... I can finally sleep now." She said to us. She then closed her eyes. I looked at her for a few moments, a bit confused what she meant by that. I then noticed right away that she had fallen asleep.
I was worried right away, because I knew that once a cat was about to die, the last thing that you wanted to do was to fall asleep. I began to go up closer to her, just to make sure that she was still alive once again, but just before I got there, Limp stopped me, which confused me a little bit.
I looked at her, wondering what the reasoning was that she was stopping me. I was just trying to make sure that our friend was okay. She was just shaking her head at me, as if I was the one being stupid for some reason. I tilted my head at her a little bit confused.
She coughed, but not one of the coughs that told me that she was sick thankfully, and it did not seem like she was joking about it either, that would be a bit rude and immature. I knew why it was because I had looked away and I was no longer paying her any attention.
"She is going to be okay Moon... She is just tired..." She said to me. I looked at her, and then turned my head back over to Oister and then nodded. I suppose that she was right, I was just so worried about losing one of my friends right now.
I looked at each of them, making sure that they were all okay. I did not want another one of them to get sick... They both nodded to me. I was just trying to be a good leader, and make sure all the cats around me were safe. Even if they did not want to be a part of my clan, the life of every cat mattered.
I then began to walk out of the room, I knew what I must do next, I must go and find Kettle and Mint, make sure that they were safe... Then bring them over to us. Once we were all safe, and we were all together... That is when we could start to bring back the clans.
I was a bit confused still however, at the fact that Starclan had brought me to the place of the cat that had been a leader of one of the clans. He had shut me down immediately and gotten all of us to leave. I suppose, as Squirrelflight would say to me, that not everything would come my way exactly the way that I had planned.
If I only had one failure at the end of all of this, thank that sounded like a win to me. I had my ropes against the wall in all of this, but I still managed to make it to where I was now somehow. I looked at Summer as she interrupted my thoughts when she continued to speak.
"So what happened to the cats that you were telling me about? The ones with the kits... I didn't see them." She said to me. I looked at her quite a bit confused as to what she was talking about. I had come back with the exact kits that were in my dreams, exactly how it had all been planned out.
I tilted my head at her, a little bit confused as to what she was talking about. She did not seem to notice, she was clearly lost in her own thoughts right now, such as I just was a few moments ago. I began to speak to her, to get her mind back onto what was going on around her.
"I brought them here, it was your brother that was in my dreams... You me right too them! Though I had to go through a lot of different paths to get there..." I said to her. She looked at me a bit surprised and a bit confused as to what I was talking about at the same time.
She had told me the direct path that I had found them? Was she somehow talking about another group of cats? I was just as confused as she was right now. She turned her head a bit sideways. And then she shook her head, but she began to respond anyways.
"Oh no... I haven't seen my brother in many moons, I did not even know that he had kits... I was talking about 2 other cats... They were a bit mean and fairly big cats. I was a bit worried for you if I was going to be honest." She said to me. I looked at her a bit confused, I then shook my head.
It was strange the way that Starclan worked I suppose, I never would understand some of the things that they decided to do. I then began to laugh a little bit, imagining the cats that she had been talking about. I closed my eyes, and then I realized the cats that she was talking about right away.
I had met them in one of the nearby abandoned twoleg places, they were a bit mean! I knew that they were just trying to protect their kits... I did not want them as a part of the clans however, and I was not sure that it was worth my time to go back and look for them.
They had threatened me if I ever decided to come back there ever again. Besides, they would shut me down, attack me, or they might not even be in that place anymore anyways. I shook my head at Summer, as she began laughing back at me as we began to walk out of the room.
As we walked into the hallway, I saw that the others were either licking their fur, or just talking to each other quietly. I looked at Briar and Shadow talking, even though they had trash talked each other, I could tell that they were still friends with each other.
I smiled and then nodded to each one of them as I walked into the room with each of them. The other cats then noticed that we had walked back into the same room that they were in, each of them nodded back to me as well.
I looked at each of the cats, and then looked at all of them. I was about to go look for Kettle and Mint, and I needed to make sure that the place would be safe while I was gone. Which probably meant that I needed to bring Shadow with me if that were so, because I still could not bring myself to trust him.
I also knew if it was just me and him, he could easily attack me, and take me down from behind, he was far bigger than I was, and I would stand no chance in a fight, even with the skills that starclan had taught me if he snuck up on me like that.
I looked over at Briar, squinting my eyes at him, I kind of trusted this cat. He would help me with this as well, I then nodded to each one of them and made my decision, the others needed to stay back here, while I brought Briar and Shadow with me to go and check up on Kettle and Mint.
"Alright... Briar, Shadow, you come with me, I am going to look for the rest of my friends... They rest of you stay here, stick with Oister in the other room... We will be back as soon as we can... Tomorrow night at the latest." I promised each of them. They all nodded to me. As I looked over at Briar and Shadow.
They looked over at each other a bit excited as well. They nodded to me back and then they got up and took the rest of the catmint into the other room, without me even having to ask. I looked at the others as the followed them into the room as well.
I was happy that they were all going to be okay, and I smiled as I saw that Shadow and Briar were walking back into the room with me, with big smiles on their faces as well. Maybe I just had a bad first impression on Shadow, he still was a bit young, and I could tell that he was not an evil cat by any means.
"I can't wait to get out there, we have never been outside of the twoleg place!" Shadow said to me. I looked at him a bit surprised, because he did look like more of a rogue than a kittypet, and the way he talked he also sounded like a rogue as well.
It did not surprise me that Briar had never been outside the walls before, he had told me that he had never been out there... I looked at both of them and then smiled at each of them, I was excited for them, it was going to be a new experience for both of them, and it was going to open them up, unto a whole new world.
"Alright lets get off... We need to hunt as well, which I will probably have to do for the both of you. I want to be back before the time that I promised them." I said to both of them. They each then nodded to me. As I took the first steps out of the abandoned twoleg nest.
I began to head over to the fence. As I nodded for both of them to jump over, this side of the fence was much taller than the side that we had come in through, but I knew that both of the cats were strong enough to get over that side of the fence.
The both jumped on the top and stayed there, staring down at the outside of the fence. I hopped up beside them as well. Remembering the first time that I had seen the outside world as well. It was all new to me, so big, and also kind of scary at the same time.
They must be having those exact same thoughts, probably to a lesser extent do to the fact that I had been scared to death practically by Tristan as I was growing up. I smiled at both of them, their eyes were wide and they were just exploring all that they were looking at.
"This is crazy! It is like something that I have never seen!" Briar said to me. I looked at him and then smiled, Shadow I could tell was thinking the exact same thing that his friend was. The were both just staring into the woods. It did not seem real to them.
I hopped down from the fence, and nodded for them to do the same, I was not joking when I said I wanted to get back as soon as we possibly could. They looked at each other for a few moments, and then they nodded. Both hopping down at the same time.
I then began walking, trying to use the scent that I had been using the other day to get back to the place, but the scent was too stale... I just had to guess the general direction that we had come from, and follow it from there. I looked at both of them, and then I nodded to them to make sure that they were following me.
They nodded, and they kept on walking with me, both of them just staring up at the sky, it was all new to them, I am surprised that they had not even noticed the scent quite yet... Much better than the scent of a twoleg place.
I suppose it had taken me a while to get used to the scent however. They were slowing me down by just staring up at the sky, but I just let them, it was not slowing me down too much. I would let them enjoy walked around out for a little while.
I looked around after a few more moments, and then I realized where we were right away... We were right at the place that Kettle and Mint were staying, but I could not smell their scent which confused me quite a bit.
We walked right into the small place that the had been staying and I smelt their scent right away... But that was not the only scent I smelled, I smelt the scent of at least 4 other cats with them... All scents that I recognized from a while ago... I was not sure if that were good or bad quite yet. I walked right into it, and the cats behind me began to freak out. They had not expected this many cats either.
One of the cats poked its head out with a bit or smile on its face. I looked at the cat for a few moments, I squinted my eyes, I recognized the she cat from a long time ago, I am not sure from where however. Then 2 other cats walked out a bit confused as to what was going on.
I recognized one of them as Youngtail right way... The other one I noticed as well, both of the other 2 cats were from the mountains! How had they followed us! I then saw a 4th cat walk out of the small little rock den, and he smiled at me right away when he saw my face.
"Well... Hello Moon..."
