Chapter 24: The Alchemist Banquet

Wei Di reached the banquet hosted in the alchemist association building in no time. He showed the invitation card and was led in by one of the guards. As he walked in, he could see how grandaunt the banquet was. There were at least 300 tables filled with guests from the region. The place was fully furnished with a fully- carpeted floor and the waiters were dishing out extravagant and exotic food such as braised 200-year-old king shell abalone.

Inside the banquet, bustling and boisterous with prominent figures chatting with one other over alcohol. He was led to the long all the way close to the front, where the most influential clans of the Fengfan city and the region were sitting.

He first met his eyes with the seated Du Ji, who averted her eye contact with Wei Di in spite. Wei Di took the seat beside her.

A towering figure slowly appeared on the stage and in an instant, everyone stared at the stage as the banquet hall quietened down.

It was the current branch head of the Fengfan alchemist association- Yao Gui ye. Everyone clapped their hands and shouted," We pay respect to the branch heard Yao!" Gui Ye laughed heartily "I hope you are enjoying your food! Now the main event for today, the alchemist competition shall begin now!" The other clans and houses roar in unison, causing the room to tremble tremendously.

The alchemist competition is a huge thing in the region and the winner of the alchemist competition has huge commercial benefits to the clan he is representing. The clan would receive contractual deals throughout the year and privileges such as faster distribution and placement in the alchemist stores throughout the nearby region. More importantly, they might be granted an audience with the alchemist king that resides in De Yao city. It was a wish that a plethora of alchemist would give up everything for.

There were 12 participants and 3 participants came from Fengfan city itself, the rest were participants from the nearby cities. All of the participants started to make their way to the center of the area. When all were gathered, a small dimension gate appeared in front of them. Inside of the gate lies where the alchemist association stores its ingredients for pills. It features endless shelves and shelves of ingredients procured from all over the country.

Gui Ye announced "please enter the dimensional gate and choose any ingredients in our storage place. After choosing, you may enter your designated practice room to conjure up your desired pill there. The time limit is three hours, so you better start moving now! May the best alchemist wins!"
