Chapter-18: Recruitment Week pt-4

Erik, Mari and Mayumi soon arrived within an open space, multiple students could be seen standing near the stands, eyes on the group of students who should in the middle of the hall.

"Haa!!..."

*Crackle*

A set of students, wearing protective gear and holding Kendo sticks could be seen performing a set of beautiful sword strokes. Their elegant moves captivated the audience, the three of them were no exception to this.

The Kendo Club were demonstrating their skills in front of the new students so to impress them and gain more members.

The reason behind all this publicity and demonstration was due to the fact that the budget for every club was propositional to their size. If a club had more members then they could request the council to provide them with more funds which would be very beneficial for the club.

The competition for the recruitments between the clubs was quite hard, Kenjutsu Club and Kendo Club have always been on odds with each other whenever it came to skills and funds.

If it wasn't for the hard work Erik put in preparing for the recruitment week, it was a possibility that some kind of conflict would have broken out between the two clubs.

"Attention!..."

"Haaa...!!!"

*Thump*

"Woohoo!!!...."

*Clap-Clap*

The demonstration by Kendo club finally came to an end, the students were obviously impressed by the skills displayed by their seniors, awesome discipline and finesse could be clearly seen within the seniors.

"Tsk...!!"

Suddenly, two students stepped out of the crowd and headed towards the Kendo Club members who had just finished their practice.

Both of these students also wore similar protective gear as the Kendo Club members and had well-maintained physique.

Just like the Kendo-demonstratives, two new individuals also held kendo sticks within their hands.

"What's so good about normal swordsmanship anyway!?...."

"What did you say!..."

(At Erik's position)

"Looks like some conflict is about to break out...."

Mari was dissatisfied with the situation and the behaviour displaced by the two new students, she was aware of the fact that both of the two students belonged to the Kenjutsu Club who must be wanting to create trouble for the Kendo Club.

She was well aware of the work Erik had out in while planning out the recruitment week and now because of the intent of gaining more funds, the proper atmosphere was going to be disturbed along with the peace.

She moved forward, intending to stop the two students before a conflict could break out.

"It's okay Mari-san, keep watching...."

Instead of being annoyed or angry, Erik had a slight smile on his face as he observed the situation with keen interest.

"Why...!? You know they will surely get in a conflict with the Kendo Club!"

"The two students aren't here for creating a conflict...."

"Huh?..."

"You see, if they wanted to create trouble for the Kendo Club, then they would have disturbed the demonstratives while they performed but they didn't do so and rather waited for the performance to end."

"They are here for a bigger purpose, they first allowed Kendo Club to set a standard, students loved their performance and would surely join their club but now they smartly interrupted the club, assuming what I am thinking is right then....."

"The two students would probably challenge the club to a duel, being Kenjutsu Club members, they do have an advantage over the Kendo Club members due to the latter being unable to profoundly use magic while in combat."

"Once they defeat the Kendo club members in a duel, the students who were previously charmed by the Kendo Club would be more willing to join Kenjutsu Club...."

"Thus giving the Kenjutsu Club free publicity and popularity, a well thought out plan I must say, impressive!..."

(At the inner hall)

"I said 'What is so good about swordsmanship?' you deaf?...."

"Why you....!!"

"Kendo is a way of the sword! It is beautiful and majestic! But ignorant fools like you wouldn't understand this!.."

"Is that so? I believe that magic is superior to such superficial skills!..."

"What did you say!!!...."

"Humph! You don't believe me huh? I challenge you to a duel! Do you dare accept!?..."

(At Erik's Position)

"...."

"How did you know what was going to happen!?..."

"Hmm? It was quite easy to figure them out you just have to see their intent plus I have always been good at reading people."

"That was way more than a simple possibility, you literally spoke what was going to happen! Almost like you could see in the future!!"

"Haha....it just analysis Mayu-chan..."

Erik laughed lightly before teasing Mayumi with a cute nickname, watching her turn red was quite satisfying so to say.

"Stop flirting you two and focus on the duel...! Seriously!"

"Haha!....whatever you say, Mari...."

Even though Erik said that he was paying attention to the duel, he actually was focusing somewhere else. Just near the left side of the inner hall, one could see a particular stall with four students standing near it.

The stall belonged to the [Magic Martial Arts Club], Sawaki Midori was a second-year course-1 student who was the current president of the club. He was also a senior member of the Public Morals Committee and Erik had some conversation with him.

Sawaki is a handsome young man and didn't care about the fact that he had Course 2 students as his Club members, as long as the person had the ability, they were welcomed in the club.

He refused to be called anything other than his family name as he has a complex with his feminine name.

He is also a caring man and is very observant of the people in his surroundings, specially tailored for the Public Morals Enforcer squad.

Sawaki specializes in creating waves of air pressure with the speed of his fists. Rather than coating his hand in thick armour made of air, he widened the surface air without increasing the weight, and with magic, he uses an accelerated fist to strike a clump of air. 

Erik was interested in seeing the skills of his senior who was regarded as one of the best combat experts within the school.

(A/N:-The server °•The Coffee Shop•° was created with the intent to help authors find a well-organized server where they don't have to worry about creating multiple channels and handle the server.
