Chapter-19: Recruitment Week pt-5

*Tak*

A rather weak shockwave spread throughout the area upon the collision of two kendo sticks. The two combatants applied pressure on the other with their weapons, both trying to dominate the other.

*Tak*

Both of the individuals retreated backwards before once again engaging in an exchange of attacks. The Kenjutsu Club Member was using [Accel] on himself to accelerate his body while the Kendo Club Member was using pure swordplay to keep up with his opponent.

Both of them exchanged 50-60 blows, neither of them was backing down as they continued to exchange blows.

"Haa...!"

The Kendo Club member swung his wooden sword towards his opponent's abdomen, his strike was fast and radiated power.

"Humph...!"

The Kenjutsu Club member immediately positioned his sword near his abdomen to deflect the incoming blow but what he didn't know was that the incoming attack was just a feint.

The wooden sword suddenly made an unusual turn and instead of striking the opponent's abdomen, it turned towards his right shoulder.

"Damn it!...."

The Kenjutsu Club member cursed as he forced his body to defend against the sudden change in trajectory, pushing his reaction speed to its limit, he immediately twisted his sword to block the fatal attack, using [Accel], he accelerated his reaction speed while leaning backwards to minimize the incoming impact.

*Tak*

The two wooden swords made contact with each other, resulting in a loud noise. The impact sent the Kenjutsu Club member sliding back due to the momentum behind the attack.

"Wow!....these seniors are so cool!"

"Yeah! It looks so similar to an anime battle!"

"Yeah! But that Kendo Senior is really strong, he is able to keep up with Kenjutsu Senior and still send the latter sliding across the hall."

"I wonder who will win!?..."

The Kenjutsu Club Member stabilized his body before looking at his opponent with a fire burning inside his eyes. He placed his sword parallel to his body before the atmosphere around him solidified.

"[Accel Burst]...."

Suddenly the Kenjutsu senior burst forth with insane speed, appearing right in front of the Kendo senior, the latter wasn't able to react to the former's sudden increase in speed and couldn't defend against the incoming attack.

The Kenjutsu Club member thrust his wooden stick right into his opponent's stomach, the tip of the sword impacted the opponent armour and dealt massive damage.

The attacked knocked the air out of the Kendo Senior's diaphragm even though he was well protected within the armour.

The Kenjutsu senior didn't spare his opponent and immediately sent three strikes to different body parts of the Kendo senior.

The latter hadn't recovered from the previous blow and couldn't defend against the incoming strikes.

The incoming attacks assaulted his dominant arm, causing him to let out a painful groan. The wooden stick within his arm fell down while the Kenjutsu senior went for the finishing blow.

His eyes shone with a fearsome light as he attacked the right shoulder of his opponent, intending to temporarily wound him.

"Sumuchi....!!"

The other members of the Kendo Club immediately sensed the other party's intention and let out a shout since they were too far to intervene.

'Humph! Take this...'

The Kenjutsu Club member raised his sword up high, intending to strike but his attack came to a stop as a calm voice resounded throughout the hall.

"Alright, that's enough....."

The Kenjutsu Club member paused and looked towards the source of the voice. A First-year course-1A student appeared within his view.

"The winner of this challenge is the Kenjutsu Club....."

Erik calmly announced the results to the crowd as he looked towards the two combatants, his eyes conveyed a single, clear message.

'Stand Down....'

The Kenjutsu Club member lowered his sword and walked towards his friend while completely ignoring the fallen Kendo Club member.

"Sumuchi-san!..."

The other Kendo Club Members rushed towards to help their fallen comrade, taking off his armour they checked his vitals and abdomen for any injury.

"I....am okay, I....am sorry I couldn't beat h...him."

The fallen combatant struggled to speak due to the pain he was feeling at his abdomen, that strike had nearly rendered him unconscious, thanks to his strong will was he still conscious.

"It's okay, don't worry about anything! You should not speak, rest first, leave the rest to us."

"Yes, brother Sumuchi! Don't worry about anything....!"

"Yes, don't push yourself....!"

The various members of the Kendo Club comforted their fallen comrade and told him not to move, he had sustained injuries but he would recover after some time.

"See I told you all, traditional skills can't beat Magic...."

The other Kenjutsu Club member didn't let go of this opportunity to put down the Kendo Club and immediately berated them.

"You...! I will show you what it means to be a swordsman....!!"

One of the Kendo Club members rushed towards the Kenjutsu Club member who had just berated them.

"Humph!..."

The Kenjutsu Club member snorted coldly before also rushing towards the Kendo Club member, both of them intended to beat the crap out of the other.

"Enough!...."

But before they could begin with their fight, a calm yet cold voice ordered them to stand down.

Both of the combatants looked towards the person who had interrupted them with fiery eyes, unfortunately for them, Erik wasn't in the mood for drama.

His calm face and cold chartreuse phosphorescent eyes were enough to deter them from making a move.

"The fight is over! The Kendo Club had booked the hall for 3-hrs, time is running low, it's better if you focus on demonstrating your skills to the students rather than fighting others....."

"Unless of course, you want the enforcers to take action....."

Erik warned the two individuals against fighting each other, the Kenjutsu Club Member retreated while the Kendo Club Member stubbornly argued.

"Tsk....! What can you do!? You are just like those other course-1 students...."

"You...!!"

Mari immediately stepped forth intending to properly destroy the Kendo Club Member, verbally of course. She was well aware of Erik's personality, slandering her friend is unforgivable.

Erik cut her in between, not allowing her to continue while he confronted the Kendo Club Member with an indifferent expression over his calm face.

"You done? Now carry on with the demonstration, mock battles within clubs are only allowed under the supervision of the Council."

"The first challenge can be ignored since it was purely based on testing the other individual's skills, now the second challenge is driven by the intent of vengeance, thus it is no longer viable to conduct such challenges."
