But Minoru in turn had an awkward smile on his face as he didn't know what to say.
"Well, it is what it is...." (Minoru)
***
*knock!*
There was a knock on the door as the conversation between Leo and Minoru had to be put to a stop for now.
"It is probably, Erik." (Suzune)
Suzune muttered to herself while Mayumi spoke up.
"Yes, Please enter..." (Mayumi)
*click!*
The doorknob twisted open, revealing Erik who was looking real handsome in his white suit and pants.
He wore golden-rimmed glasses, a red tie, and black gloves which only enhanced his natural charisma.
Erik stepped into the room and closed the door behind him.
"The points of round 1, of the event [Battle-Board] will be distributed equally to all participants." (Erik)
"The round 2 have been shifted to a later date whereas the committee will continue with the events." (Erik)
"The next event is [Pillar-Break], I came to check up on Mari and make sure that she is alright because I go." (Erik)
While speaking, Erik turned to look at the newcomer within the group as his eyes widened in surprise.
"Hm? Minoru? You are here?" (Erik)
Hearing Erik speak his name, Minoru nods and opens his mouth to speak.
"Ah yes, Senior Erik." (Minoru)
"There is something I wanted to tell you. It is concerning the accident that happened in the morning." (Minoru)
Everyone within the room immediately looked towards Minoru with their full attention dedicated to him.
Many questions popped into their minds yet no one spoke a word.
They wanted Minoru to complete his words before they react.
And although his tone was very stable and firm; the look in his eyes seemed to give away his nervous self.
Do not misunderstand his intentions!
He couldn't care less about others, currently residing in the room but Erik was a different case altogether.
He simply motioned for him to continue speaking but Minoru knew by now, that the former was aware; that the "accident" was no accident.
"Hm...Go on." (Erik)
His nervousness only seemed to amplify after observing no apparent changes in Erik's calm expression.
He gathered his courage and continued with his words, ignoring the intense look that Mayumi, Naotsugu, and Suzune were subjecting him to.
"While analyzing the footage from the various cameras placed all over the course..." (Minoru)
"I believe that there was an outside interference in the [Battle-Board] event." (Minoru)
"Using my 'ability', I was able to observe a minute disturbance when the [Seventh-High Participant] tried to deaccelerate her board." (Minoru)
Hearing up until here, Naotsugu was shaking in anger as he struggled to maintain his composure.
Now that even a Kudou had confirmed his suspicion, he couldn't wait to get his hands on the "Outside interference".
Minoru stopped speaking and looked at his benefactor.
Erik stayed silent for a few seconds which felt like an eternity to Minoru and calmly question the latter.
"Did you inform, Elder Kudou? If yes, then what did he say?" (Erik)
Erik questioned if Elder Kudou had any idea about what could this disturbance be? Given his vast experience and knowledge.
"When I informed my grandfather of my suspicion, he told me that during the battles against the Guangdong Army of East China." (Minoru)
"The Japanese forces suffered terribly under the effects of a specific spirit magic." (Minoru)
"They called it [Golden Electron Silkworms]." (Minoru)
"It was an SB magic or a magic that uses spirits as a medium, used by the Magicians in the Guangdong Army during the battles in the East China Seas." (Minoru)
"According to my grandfather, [Golden Electron Silkworms] pass across connections to invade electronic devices." (Minoru)
"It's was a magic that disabled precision weaponry." (Minoru)
"The silkworms didn't rewrite the process itself." (Minoru)
"Instead, they interfered with the output signal and even altered the signal." (Minoru)
"This delayed the spell activation by hampering the electronic mechanism without triggering the OS or anti-virus programs." (Minoru)
"It was and is!...." (Minoru)
"....Till this date, not possible to counter it without deleting the entirety of the software and installing a new one." (Minoru)
"I fear that the thing used to cause the accident was [Golden Electron Silkworm]." (Minoru)
"Since the Guangdong Army was defeated and destroyed by our forces, the remaining survivors joined the [No Head Dragon] organization." (Minoru)
"That means that a member of [No Head Dragon] has managed to infiltrate the Organizing Committee." (Minoru)
*Silence!*
An uncomfortably heavy atmosphere spread throughout the room.
The shit just got real!
Miyuki stood closer to her brother as she could feel the various emotions emitting from her friends and seniors.
Being a pseudo-empath was not a blessing since you couldn't even control the power to filter out the various feelings.
Which in turn made you unstable and erratic by nature.
If not for the nature of her psion; Miyuki would have been overwhelmed by emotions.
Mizuki was having trouble breathing as she looked at the enormous amount of hate and anger emitting from Naotsugu.
She had to forcibly close her eyes to block out the entirety of negative emotions filling the room.
Mikihiko seeing this slowly placed a hand on Mizuki's shoulder to help her calm down and relax.
Tatsuya glanced at his sister as he quickly thought of some words to help decrease the tension in the air.
"This is way out of our jurisdiction." (Tatsuya)
"[No Head Dragon] is an international criminal organization, we can't afford to act out of line." (Tatsuya)
"I suggest that we should inform the authorities while we stay anonymous." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya presented his thoughts to the other people within the room. Unfortunately, his expressionless face sent the wrong message to simple-minded people like Erika.
She immediately burst into a fit of anger.
"Tatsuya-san, Mari-nee nearly faced a fatal injury because of those bastards!" (Erika)
"How can we let this go!?" (Erika)
Miyuki immediately tightened her grip on her brother's arm.
Tatsuya's neck snapped towards the redhead as he spoke in a tasteless tone.
"You are a member of Chiba Clan, Erika." (Tatsuya)
"My sister and I, have a normal family background and I can't put my sister in danger." (Tatsuya)
"This is not something that we, students should be dealing with." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya's words made perfect sense!
Who was Mari to him? No one!
As a normal human being with someone to protect, he would of course, not want to put himself in unnecessary danger.
Even the other people within the room agreed with his words, including Erik and Naotsugu himself.
Erika also understood his reason and immediately felt that she had crossed the line with her tone.
Unfortunately, she couldn't jump in and apologize since there were more serious matters that were being discussed at the moment.
"I agree with Tatsuya-san." (Isori)
"These people are very dangerous and have infiltrated the organization. We can't take a risk here!" (Isori)
Isori presented the danger factor to the people within the room as a grave expression dominated their faces.
Erik, even after all this drama; had no change in his expression.
He turned to look at his friend and asked in a passive tone.
"What do you think, Naotsugu?" (Erik)
Everyone turned to look at Naotsugu who was expressionless and looked lost in his thoughts.
Even so, he made a response.
"Since there is an international criminal organization involved, the government would surely send special units to take care of the situation." (Naotsugu)
"Which also means that I wouldn't be able to do anything." (Naotsugu)
He looked towards Erik with a serious face.
The latter simply nodded and he motioned towards Suzune to pass him something.
"Hm...Suzune-san, can you please pass me the CAD I am supposed to use in [Pillar-Break]?" (Erik)
Hearing Erik's request, Suzune was confused and wondered why was he suddenly asking her to get him the CAD.
But even so, she complied with his request.
"Ah..sure?"
She turned towards the suitcase kept on the table behind her and opened it by flicking the correct digits on its lock.
*click!*
The suitcase hatch opened, revealing a small gun-shaped CAD resting with the other mechanical stuff.
She took out the gun-shaped CAD and gave it to Erik and thanked her for the help.
"Thank you." (Erik)
He then turned towards Mikihiko and spoke in a calm yet commanding tone.
"Mikihiko-san, you can use [Spirit-Detection] right?" (Erik)
Faced with such a random question, Mikihiko stumbled to respond but eventually replied.
"...Yes, I can?" (Mikihiko)
"Then please use it on this CAD and tell me what do you see?" (Erik)
Hearing Erik request him to use [Spirit-Detection] on the gun-shaped CAD made Mikihiko's eyes widen in horror.
"Erik-san, do you perhaps think that yo—" (Mikihiko)
Unfortunately for him, Erik was done wasting time.
"Please do it, Mikihiko-san..." (Erik)
For the first time in a long time did his expression change into one that was completely emotionless.
And it scared the shit out of Mikihiko!
Heck! Even the other's felt scared after seeing his face!
Gone was the calmness from his face, what replaced it was utter and pure indifference.
It was a frightening experience!
Mikihiko quickly agreed and started to cast the spell.
"O-Ok..." (Mikihiko)
Taking out a talisman from his sleeves, he closed his eyes and poured his psion into the talisman which started floating mid-air!
"[Spirit-Detection]!" (Mikihiko)
He spoke!
