Chapter-134 The Competition Begins pt-10
Taking out a talisman from his sleeves, he closed his eyes and poured his psion into the talisman which started floating mid-air!
"[Spirit-Detection]!" (Mikihiko)
He spoke!

Mikihiko closed his eyes and became one with a [Pseudo-Earth-Spirit], a pale green aura emerged from his body and poured into the gun-shaped CAD.
He was going to mimic the function of a CAD using a spirit and see what happens when he pours his psion into the construct.
If someone had rigged Erik's CAD then he would be able to sense the spirit once it partially activates in response to the construct.
'Let's see if Erik-san's suspicion is unfounded or not?' (Mikihiko)
And so he started pouring his psion into the construct he made using [Divine Earth Magic].
The green aura gave birth to a change in the CAD.
Black colored lightning suddenly appeared from the CAD and started devouring the green aura!
Within seconds! The construct was wholly covered with black-colored lightning which started to break it from inside!
"What is this!?" (Mikihiko)
He hastily stopped pouring his psion into the construct in fear of psion infection; he didn't know how dangerous was that black lightning and didn't want to take any chances.
He quickly placed the original gun-shaped CAD back on the table and created some distance between himself and the table.
Tatsuya, Mizuki, Minoru, and Erik were the only individuals who saw everything that happened due to the nature of their eyes.
Whereas others only witnessed Mikihiko hastily moving away from the CAD.
He was avoiding it like a plague.
Mizuki had a worried expression on her face as she looked towards the disoriented Mikihiko.
Compared to her Tatsuya and Minori had a grave expression on their faces, even though their reason differed from each other.
One was worried about the safety of his sister whereas the other was angry and nervous to see Erik's reaction.
The man in question had a knowing expression on his face which quickly turned into a slight smile.
"So my suspicions were indeed correct." (Erik)
He closed his eyes and crosses his arms while narrating a rather interesting narrative.
"Look's like some outside interference tried to sabotage my CAD so that I would fail to perform in the upcoming event." (Erik)
"Fortunately the [Engineers of First-High] were able to identify this attempt at influencing the competition and helped deal with the problem." (Erik)
"The Kudou family requested the assistance of the [Kudou Forces] to secure the perimeter and help this find the culprit." (Erik)
The slight smile on his face was becoming more and more apparent as he continued to speak.
"The Saltzman Family took this attempt as a threat to my safety and hired the commander of [Sword Corps] to be my bodyguard for the rest of the tournament." (Erik)
At first, his words confused the others since all of this hasn't happened yet but as he continued to speak, they started to understand his motives.
He was narrating this to Kudou Minoru so that he could act accordingly with his grandfather and handle the situation.
Whereas he, using his status will be able to keep Naotsugu tied as the latter wished for.
This way none of the other students would fall into any kind of danger and all the focus will shift onto Erik instead.
But is he that simple?
The answer is no!... Far from it!
Erik wanted to put himself in the spotlight to provide a distraction; because his friend was busy locating the hideout of the [No Head Dragon].
You didn't see this coming now, did you?

Well to put it simply!
Katsuto was busy locating the main hideout of the [No Head Dragon] organization.
So that they could later raid the place and get what they needed.
And what they needed was "information".
Yes! Information on the leader of the [No Head Dragon], Zhou Gongjin, and the former leader, Jiedo Heigu.
The device Miss Kyouko was working on was nearly ready and it was finally time for a bargain Dorma—*cough*.
Anyway, these events are destined to be explored in some chapters later so let's get back to the main topic.
"But Erik, this will put you in danger!" (Mayumi)
Mayumi spoke with a worried expression on her face.
She wasn't comfortable with her fiance entering the spotlight and painting a target on his back.
Especially since the other party was an international criminal organization!
Erik let out a sigh at the overprotective nature of his fiance.
He really adored his beautiful fiance.
Even though she was well aware of the fact that he was very much capable of protecting himself with his magic.
She still couldn't help but worry.
Erik firmly believed that Mayumi would be the one who will understand his motives even if the world was against him....hopefully.
Faced with her concern for his safety, he comforted her in a soft tone.
"Don't worry, Mayumi...I will not be taking any action against them." (Erik)
"Naotsugu here is just insurance." (Erik)
"Not to mention with Elder Kudou dealing with them, I wouldn't be in any danger." (Erik)
Naotsugu nods at Erik's words as he knew that whatever the latter spoke was true, for the most part anyway!
"You need not worry, Mayumi-san." (Naotsugu)
"I will make sure that Erik remains unharmed in any case." (Naotsugu)
Erik and Naotsugu gave Mayumi some assurance using Elder Retsu's name and their skills.
Erik then turned to look at the others; Minoru to be specific.
"Since my CAD is rigged, take it as proof and show it to Elder Kudou." (Erik)
Minoru nodded hearing Erik's words, he completely agreed with the course of events that the latter had described to him.
"Alright, Senior Erik!" (Minoru)
Seeing that the problem was resolved, for now, Isori turns towards Erik and asks an important question.
"What about the event?" (Isori)
Since the CAD was no longer usable, what would Erik do now!?
The person in question turned towards Isori and spoke in a "matter-of-fact" tone.
"I don't need a CAD to cast magic." (Erik)
