Exhibit D

Surges of shocks zigzagged throughout his insides, shaking him awake. His eyes snapped open, yet no pupils were found as they were rolled back. The electrocution continued.

"Set the voltage higher," a familiar voice commanded.

The shocks multiplied within, inducing more pain in even more areas all at once. Everything within his body coursed in rapidity. His life, flashing before his eyes alongside the flashes that came from the electrocutions.

"Okay, stop," the same voice said. It spoke through an intercom, its static quality was also familiar.

The electricity finally stopped flowing, and the shocks slowed to a halt.

His eyes finally unwhited as his pupils rolled back down. He panted from the induced screaming he'd done. Every part of his body felt numb and fragile. His entire being was in excruciating pain.

"Mr. Regardius. Welcome back. It's been quite some time since our last proper encounter."

Though his body was numb from the pain, he felt a rising heat surge through his body. His face heated up at the recognition of the voice. Reed refounded his excessive hatred for the Overseer.

"You know, we've had to delay this exhibit for another two days. You know why? Because the Cell of Solitude ruined you!" Raphael laughed ecstatically. "The look on your face after your two days of isolation was unforgettable. You were absolutely brain-dead, minus being able to say 'white' all the time. Just white!"

Reed dipped his head with a growing fury as Raphael's laughter echoed through the mic. He looked around, and surely enough it was the same chamber he'd done the last exhibit in. On his body, thin metal pads were attached everywhere, connected by wiring to the wall. Reed was suddenly zapped with electricity from each pad. He yelped with pain.

"Like it? Using that, it took us about an hour of high voltage shocking to get you to wake back up. But look! You aren't dead! Isn't it amazing? This is already a good start for Serum D," Raphael said. He turned to Matthew who sat next to him with his pen and clipboard. "Can withstand high voltage electricity, write that down." Matthew nodded and began writing.

Raphael turned back towards the testing chamber, looking through the observatory window at Reed who ripped the metal pads off himself.

"Mr. Regardius, we'll be testing your physical capabilities as well as your physical endurance once again. Remember, this exhibit was delayed by two days; two days of extra resting for yourself, so you better perform well in return," Raphael smirked.

Raphael then pressed a button on the control panel, initiating a beep that blared into the chamber. The set of entry doors to the chamber opened, and in rushed 50 Angel Units and 50 Seraphim Units.

"We're starting with big numbers this time," Raphael chuckled.

He looked down at the bronze watch that wrapped around his wrist and pressed a button on its side.

"10 hours starts now."
