I woke up feeling quite energized actually. It was so bright wherever I was that I winced when I attempted to open my eyes. I smiled when a cloud passed by the sun allowing me to open my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes, careful not to hurt them from sudden brightness but instead, confusion struck me.
Forgetting about protecting my eyes, I quickly glanced around wherever I was. It was not familiar at all, in fact, I was positive I was dead and in some type of fancy, high class, heavenly hospital room. I thought about how I could've possibly died and that's when the memories from yesterday night had flown in. Or at least, I think yesterday.
How could I be so stupid? I wanted to reach to facepalm my forehead...but I couldn't? Actually, now that I realized this, I also realized that I couldn't move my legs or my neck, arms, and hands. I glanced at all of which, and they were tightly secured and strapped to the bed I was comfortably in.
Frustrated, I tried to squirm and get out of the hold of these straps but it was no use. I could feel the straps burning into my flesh as I squirmed so I decided to stop moving before I got any permanent damage.
This can't be heaven... I haven't done anything bad, ever. Oh no... is this my punishment for sneaking out last night; I freakishly thought. The more I thought, the more I freaked myself out. At this point, I was hyperventilating. I tried to calm myself down so I could come to my senses. Looking at my still bruised arms and legs, I figured I wasn't in heaven. I grew more confused about my whereabouts.
"So... if I'm not in heaven... where could I be?" I accidentally said aloud but didn't notice.
"The opposite." Someone devilishly said.
Their aura leaked into the air as if it were a poisonous gas looking for a victim to suffocate. Their voice boomed loudly in my ears. I was so deliberately surprised by the sudden well-spoken words, that I forgot to be frightened.
"T-The opposite..?" I asked the voice. "You mean..." I continued. The voice quickly replied.
"I mean, you must be, right? If you're sure you're dead and not in heaven, then you must be in..."
"...the opposite," I said, finishing their sentence as my mouth hung open. "So if I am there...then... a-are you the...devil?" I genuinely asked as the delayed fear started to kick in.
"Mm. Some say so. Some say worse, and some don't get to say anything at all." They continued.
I shuddered at the utter thought of possibly having a conversation with the devil. At that moment I wanted to turn and hide under the blankets but unfortunately, I was still strapped.
The other person in the room seemed as if they could smell my fear. They took large steps closer as their shadow stretched over my body. I shut my eyes in fear.
The person let out a soft and desirable chuckle when they saw my expression. It only made me cower more.
"How could you be so gullible?" They asked. I was still too scared to open my eyes.
They scoffed, as I slowly started to realize this was a masculine voice. I opened my eyes slowly and saw the side of his strong jawline blocking the sunlight from hurting my eyes. He was turned slightly to the side, I'm guessing confused about my reaction? His white hair parted down the middle and positioned in front of his eyes. It glistened in the sunlight and complimented everything about him.
It was as if he could sense my stare, because he devilishly smiled and turned his head back to me. I was too late to react and we had caught eye contact with each other. I was absolutely amazed by the fact that he had Heterochromia, a condition where the irises of the eye are two different colors. His being grey and red. His pale skin complimented his eyes and his sort of darker eye bags.
I shook off my thoughts and spoke with firmness in my voice.
Well sort-of.
"Uh-... if you're not the devil then... who are you?" I asked.
"Who am I?" he said while chuckling in between. "I don't like to repeat myself. But I will this once just for you, Some say Im the devil. Some say worse, and some don't get to say anything at all."
I started to grow more curious about him. He tilted his head then spoke,
"You don't remember what happened yesterday night?" he asked.
Ah, so it was yesterday.
"I remember getting beat up by a group of girls, and then blacking out." I deliberately said.
"How incredibly rude of you to forget our first time meeting." He said with a firm voice.
"I'm sorry- I've always forgot after blacking out. But that doesn't change the fact that I don't know who you are or where I am." I said without thinking twice.
He chuckled at my stubbornness, I'm guessing, then turned fully towards me.
"I'm Acelen. Delighted to meet you, Bon Bon."
He said, as he held out his hand.
