Stay Hidden

Still, she took Acelen's word seriously, and undoubtingly ran from the table.

As Bonnie ran, she could hear Acelen's struggles of pain because of his fight with his body. She felt such a strong urge to turn around and help Acelen through his current state. But she didn't want to face the repercussions of disobeying Acelen.

She also knew that turning around... could mean death. Although she wasn't afraid of it, she ran for Acelen's sake. Bonnie didn't know why she did so, but she felt as if she didn't have a choice. At least... that's what she told herself.

By the time she arrived at their room, Acelen's groans had long stopped. It would have been silent if the sounds of bones crushing and blood spilling made themselves well known throughout the echos of the house. But those sounds had been long gone as well.

Bonnie burst into their room and rummaged through their things. She noticed that their luggage had been placed carefully on their bed. She searched impatiently for something, anything, to cover up her smell just as Acelen had said. Unfortunately... she didn't find anything to do so. She only found some sage and even she could reckon that she didn't have time for that.

Quickly, she darted to the cost and slammed the door (but quietly) behind her. She hid behind some previously hung clothing just in time, because someone had just barged through the door and slammed it shut, shaking the walls of the wardrobe.

They obviously had a great sense of smell because they were relying on it. Bonnie could hear their breathing clearly. She just hoped that they couldn't hear the same for her. She wished that she'd just had time to gather her thoughts, especially the one of her past.... at least that's what she'd assumed.

"Oh, Bonnie~. I know you're here. Come out!" Said the familiar voice as it searched. It was Acelen. That part was obvious. But it didn't seem to be the Acelen she 'knew'. Now voice-wise, he sounded the same. Mischievous yet serious, playful yet straightforward. But in this voice, he was slurring his words.

'It's almost as if he were drunk... wait. Am I misunderstanding something?' She thought.

Acelen's mom had been a bit rude to Bonnie from the start but she's had no reason to want to hurt her. And Zythe? Well, he's just competitive. Acelen's mom did say that Acelen hadn't eaten in a few weeks or so... could it be that the side effects of not eating for a while then to suddenly eat is.....

The same symptoms of a drunk person!?

Is this why Acelen wished for her to hide? Because he didn't want Bonnie to see him in this state? It all slowly started to make sense to Bonnie the more she thought about it. She silently facepalmed.

'Now there's only one way to confirm it.' She thought.

'Just.... open the door.'

Bonnie stared at the wardrobe door as she contemplated. She moved quietly towards it, pushing the clothing out of the way, and rested her hand on it.

On the other side, Acelen was 'drunkenly' rummaging through the room. He kept playfully calling for Bonnie as he did so.

Bonnie sighed and pushed the wardrobe door opened. It was a sigh of relief because of the situation. She couldn't help but laugh at Acelen's silliness.

Acelen snapped his head towards Bonnie and tilted it to the side. Once he realized who he was seeing with his bloodshot eyes, he fell to his knees in immense.... sadness?

"Bonnieee~" He complained. "Where did you go? I was looking for you~ I thought I'd misplaced you!" Said Acelen as he referred to her as an object. She didn't mind because he was technically not in the right state of mind, but any other time and she would've-

Acelen had now crawled up to Bonnie's leg and tugged on her dress. Snapping her from her thoughts as she stared down at him, who looked every bit of an actual puppy! He had a pout on his face as he whined.

This was actually unbelievable. Bonnie couldn't believe her eyes.

"I-It's okay! Really. It's my fault because I hid from you." Said Bonnie trying to calm down Acelen's sadness.

He stared at her as she did so. The pout had now disappeared. A childish frown was now in place of it. Bonnie honestly had wanted to laugh, but she wondered how long this would go for.

Acelen stood up with his frown and stamped his feet. Bonnie was taken aback at how cute this was.

"Why would you hide from me!?"

"Acelen- that's because... you told me too! You made it seem like you were gonna kill me." She said calmly. Acelen's toddler-like behavior was demanding her attention, and she had no problem giving it to him.

However, Acelen's was just staring at her after she responded. Like he was trying to remember if he ever said anything like that.

"Why would I ever kill you?! I wouldn't ever think about doing such a thing!" He yelled. Bonnie chuckled in response. She wondered how Acelen would feel if he knew about his actions of this evening.

He was continuing his glare at her until he started to feel tired. He began subconsciously leaning forward while he stood but then immediately snapping back, trying his best to stay awake.

Bonnie noticed this and was about to tell him that he could sleep, when Acelen suddenly grabbed her shoulders. He now had a complete mood switch and his eyes looked full of sadness.

The pout was back as he let one of his arms fall off her shoulders in response to his tiredness. He then took that hand and pointed at his mouth repeatedly.

He was asking Bonnie to let him have a bite.
