Shame

Acelen shot awake. He was in his bed which was now accompanied by Bonnie. He was still at his parents' home, he could tell. Bonnie was sound asleep next to him when he'd checked.

Acelen couldn't help but wonder what had happened last night as he suddenly sat up frozen in place. He almost never slept during the night, and he had a raging headache. When he tried to remember... it all blurred together. Once he focused it became just a bit more clear.

He randomly remembered that they went to dinner and were served with blood and...

and...

Oh! And- ...The butler!? The shaky butler was chopped up onto the plate. He remembered seeing Zythe's bloodshot eyes and he remembered telling Bonnie to run, as he held himself back.

So if this happened, why are we asleep next to each other? Acelen thought that normally he'd feel horribly sick the morning after eating so much from going rogue. Yet, he didn't feel sick at all. There must be something he's missing.

He tried to think more about what had happened afterward. He thought and thought until...

He remembered. Suddenly his face turned from the palest of whites to the rosiest shade of pink. He covered his mouth with the back of his hand as he realized. His eyes slowly trailed over to Bonnie as she slept.

'How could I even dare to show my face to her from now on?' Acelen thought. He was ashamed because if his memory was correct, he was 100% sure that Bonnie had seen that side of him.

Acelen's anger brewed towards his mother as he thought about all her reasoning to do this. He was definitely going to deal with that later. But now it was time for him to remember exactly what'd happened. It was hard for him since his memory was so hole-sy. If he wasn't caught so off guard then he wouldn't have gone rogue and... acted that way.

He covered his face in shame as he turned back over to the sleeping Bonnie. He slowly moved his hands away from his eyes before quickly covering them again. It's because Bonnie was suddenly wide awake and staring at Acelen. Her face was also turning pink as the memories of last night flooded back to her. Although she didn't do anything embarrassing she remembered how Acelen had acted and couldn't help but turn pink.

Acelen then cleared his throat and removed his hands from his face. He looked at Bonnie with a straight face and nonchalant eyes. Bonnie stared back at him as his lip started to quiver.

"Uh....Um, do you remember the events of last night...?" Acelen spoke with a voice that was completely opposite to his look. He was covering his mouth with the back of his hand as he looked away.

Bonnie smiled slightly as she responded.

"Mm. I do," said Bonnie.

His eyes suddenly darted back towards Bonnie as she replied. Well, of course, she remembered! She wasn't the one who...

"Th-That's..."

"It's?" said Bonnie trying to further tease him.

"Well... My memory is hole-sy right now... Do you mind filling me in on what happened after I confessed that I'd never kill you? Which by the way, you should pay no mind to that! I wasn't in the right state of mind....!" Acelen said making himself look exactly like a flustered teen. Bonnie couldn't help but slightly chuckle at him.

"After that? Oh yeah. You asked me if you could have a bite, or more like gestured it? You pointed at your mouth repeatedly while grabbing my shoulder."

'I-I, I asked her for a b-b-bite?!!' Acelen thought. If his face at this moment was compared to a tomato, he'd be redder.

'Did we go through with it? Did I really...'

"Ah, I would've definitely gone through with it if it made you feel better. But you had collapsed before you could even reach my neck."

Acelen thanked whatever larger force was out there that had helped him avoid doing such a thing at that time. Of course, he would want to taste Bonnie sometime, but not during a time where he wouldn't be able to remember. That was not ideal at all.

Acelen was actually beginning to regain his composure when Bonnie spoke again.

"Truthfully, the whole situation was really cute. Especially your actions." Bonnie said naturally. The sentence was really simple and short but Bonnie didn't realize the effect of it. Acelen was stunned and frozen in place.

It wasn't the first time he's ever been complimented before or anything like that. It was just the simplicity in the compliment which had stunned him. Honestly, he was expecting more. How conceited of him.

Acelen blank many times then noticed his mouth was open. He closed it then abruptly stood up. He looked back at Bonnie who seemed to be lost in thought. A strange thought ran across his head which shocked him as well. It caused him to literally shake his head and run out of the room. Bonnie didn't even notice because of her intense focus.

She found herself suddenly trying to remember if her flashback from yesterday was true to her or not. If so, there's a lot she doesn't know about her past,

That she intends to find out.
