Equipment and Skills

A skull appeared in Metro's hand. The skull only had fangs that was extremely elongated, while the shape of the skull was bent outwards at several areas. The hollow areas of the skull were all occupied by something white that was unsettling. It was relatively light in weight, since it was just a skull.

"So there are events that grant rewards? These events seem to be valuable to partake in. Where do I store this though?" Metro held the cold, hard skull in his hands, and tried to rotate it around.

Brian's Skull

Tier: E-

Class: Mysticism

Active Skill: Demon Parasitism

Demon Parasitism- The soul is the most important part of your body. These parasites eat your soul to empower the pitiful physical body. The physical body also can use these parasites to attack spiritual beings for limited periods.

Ritual: Smash the skull close to the user.

Warnings: One time use, Mysticism skills disabled

Remarks: It's a skull with parasites in it.

Metro was greeted by a stat screen after he had seen every side of the skull. He had played games in his previous life, so he knew that he was in some sort of role playing game by now. After reading the description of the reward, he scrunched up his face.

"This looks great early on, but the drawbacks are too severe..." Metro did not think much of the equipment. It was a one time use object, and he was not able to learn new skills from a particular class. However, he now knew that the skills in this RPG he had been thrown into had different classes of skills.

"I know about these descriptions for these items now, but maybe I could even be lucky enough to have an inventory too?" Metro tried to will the skull into an inventory, but it did not work. He could only carry the skull.

"Fine. Tch." Metro was annoyed, but he did not complain. He could just carry it under his armpit for now. Once he got out of this place, he would try his best to find a bag.

Then, Metro willed the status screen into being again. There was a subsection next to the "Death Clock". It recorded down all the kills and the time it granted him. The system had somehow classified the mass suicide of the audience to be his own doing, and had granted him around 2 hours of time.

Metro flicked his fingers out of anxiety. He had not expected that some lives did not even matter up to 1 second.

"Oh, I also learned a new skill." Metro remembered that he had seen the status screen informing that he had charmed Brian. Checking his status screen, he found that all his skills were still here, but a new "Basic Charm" was next to his inherited skill.

[Basic Charm: Derived from a higher level of charm, this allows you to influence people easier.]

"So that's the difference between the Inherited Skills and Body Skills..." Metro has figured out what they were. In his theory, Inherited Skills were the skills that he had learned himself, and the Body Skills were the ones that the body possessed. He could not directly assimilate Body Skills, but he could use them to incorporate them into his own skill set.

"If only I didn't have the restriction of this damned Death Clock, I could probably find more opportunities to learn skills!" Metro lamented about the time limit that was imposed on him. Skills were extremely important. He was sure that if he did not have the Trained Body skill that he had somehow obtained, he would have died by now due to slow reflexes.

[Basic Trained Body: Higher chance to deal critical damage, quicker movement, higher willpower, stronger basic strength. This covers all parts of the body, how convenient.]

Metro played around with the skull in his hand, thinking about the possible opportunities he had. He had already adapted to the mindset that he was in a world where there was a new set of rules to play by. Were there any experiments he could do?

Using his imagination, he simulated several experiments in his brain, until he slapped his thigh in epiphany. He could try and see if other people besides him could use the items given by this system.

Patting himself on the back, Metro saw the stone stairs that lead upwards. At the top of the doorway, there was light shining through. He was cloaked in a dark purple robe that stretched all the way to his ankles, and he was naked underneath. It restricted his movement, so he had to hobble up the stairs.

"GO! GO! GO! Move in!" Metro could hear the sounds of a door being crushed, which made him startled. He stumbled to the ground, but managed to use his arms to support his body in time.

Metro crawled to a large debris, and hid behind it. Cold sweat dropped from his forehead, as his entire body started to heat up from anxiety. What was happening now? Was this site being raided by somebody?

"Clarkson, do you see any hostiles?" A distorted voice wormed its way into Metro's head.

"No, there's no hostiles anywhere. Where did the demonic cult go?" Clarkson replied over the wireless receiver.

"I want you to check every part of this building. Lord Gore instructed us to kill all the demonic cult members that are actively resisting. If you can't find anyone, we will turn on the thermal imager to snuff anyone who is hiding. Whoever is out there can probably hear us. I'm warning you, we have already surrounded the whole apartment building. If you do not surrender, we will give you an agonising death." An arrogant voice proclaimed from above Metro.

Metro, who was still hiding, still remained patient. The willpower given by the Trained Body he had was crucial to his behaviour. If he did not have it, he would have probably been pissing his pants when he heard the word "kill".

"Thermal imager? Apartment building?" Metro was filled with fear. In the modern age, many scientific advancements had allowed people to create lethal methods to kill people. What he feared weren't guns, but the use of chemical warfare and other silent assassinations. He had already judged the invaders as professionally trained assault teams.

"Why are these events happening so fast?" Metro was sure that this was an event, like the one that he was thrusted in at the beginning. The arrival of these people was too coincidental for it to be not.

"Roger, all the floors have been checked. Wes encountered a supernatural hostile in the third floor, but he escaped quickly. We can call the Priests to clean it up later. We will now search the basement of this apartment!"

Even Metro's increased willpower could not help him now, as his heart started to beat extremely fast. Just then, an idea popped up in his mind. He crawled towards the bodies that were lying down in various positions. They were still warm to the touch, but their limbs had stiffened already. A disgusting stench was already the air, as the waste in the bodies pooled out.

Metro nodded. "Just as I thought, I should be able to pull this off."
