Chapter 12: Revelation

Pharaoh is now at the chamber of Medicine. Haran, the main physician of the palace along with his assistants tries to fix his right hand.

But they fail. They try their best to fix the hand. Now Pharaoh is in rest. Haran gives him herbs that will lessen his pain. As the pain is decreased Anmatre feels asleep.

Haran reports the condition of Pharaoh to his mourning Queen and Aasar. Aasar tries to console the Queen. But Asiya can not stop worrying.

She weeps for her Pharaoh. Not only for Anmatre but also for another Pharaoh of Egypt. Egypt's future Pharaoh. The little Pharaoh inside her.

Now Asiya is infront of Anmatre. He is awake, staring at his right arm. Asiya tries to hold him. But he flinches away from her.

He tells her, "Don't touch me! Because I am the man who robs you from your most valuable thing."

Asiya replies, "I am not worried about that. Because that is gone and I will never get it back. But the only thing that consoles me is that it was taken by you whom I did marry. I think we must forget it and welcome what will come in the future."

"What are you talking about? Asiya." Pharaoh asks, astonished.

"I am talking about a little human being. A little boy or girl who is growing inside me."

Pharaoh smiles at the woman in front of him. Hearing the news makes him the most happy man of the world. Because he is the father of the child. His prince or princess. But he thinks otherwise.

He asks his wife, "What do you want?"

Asiya asks further, "What do you mean? My Pharaoh!"

"I mean the child. Do you want a boy or a girl?"

" I am happy with what the Gods will give me. Be it a boy or a girl. Both are equal to me."

But she is surprised by the next words of him.

Pharaoh tells her, "Then, shall you make a promise?"

"What is it?"

"Promise me that you shall never tell the child about his or her father."

Asiya only stares at him. Anger creeps inside her. Without thinking anything she slaps her Pharaoh. He did not protest and only hears her words. Truly he deserves the slap not because he once slapped her. He deserves it because what he is saying right now is wrong. He understands it.

" The child will be afraid of me." Pharaoh says, pointing towards his right hand. "I think he or she will not even come to me."

"Then you should think about it before. You should think about the child that it will be afraid of you one day before doing that foolishness." Asiya replies pointing at Pharaoh's lost arm.

Pharaoh says nothing. He sits there holding his cheek in his hand. It stings there.

A moment later, Pharaoh realizes that someone can not hold her laughter.

He looks up at his wife to find her laughing at him.

"What's so funny? Why are you laughing at me?" He asks Asiya.

"Nothing my Pharaoh, I am just thinking that I can not forget my past.

Before coming to the palace, I was just naughty. My mother worried about me. Now I am thinking whether this child will also make me worried or not. If it is mischievous, then my life will be on fire." Asiya's simple confession also makes Anmatre laugh. She stares at the man. "Why are you laughing?" She asks Anmatre.

"Your words are fun, woman. But I am also thinking that if the child is like me, then what will you do? You are already in trouble, Asiya."

With that he goes back to do his works. He is unwilling to do it. All he wants is to accompany his queen, the mother of his unborn child.  But now he has to do these works because he is the father not only to his child, but also to his people. The people of his beloved Egypt.
