The last thing he saw, was the lightening bolt destroying the hologram of the demon then he instantly lost control of his body and fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
He awoke to find himself in a small room with new clothes and a bowl of monster meat which he sniffed and ate. When he finished, he tried to get up but instantly felt pain from all parts of his body which caused him to let out a moan of pain.
"Oh you are awake, how do you feel" A young woman came into the room and asked him while observing his expression.
"I am fine thank you, who are you and how did I get here" James thanked her before questioning her.
"My son found you unconscious in the deep forest while hunting for monsters so he brought you here when he found out that you needed medical care and you have been here for 1 week" The woman said as she pressed a warm towel against his arm.
"Thank you for taking care of me, where is your son so that I can thank him for saving me, wait there was another child with me in the forest, where is he" James said before he remembered Tom.
"Oh the boy, he is in another room, he doesn't seem to have any injuries but he hasn't woken up since he was brought here so what were you doing in the forest and how did you gain such injuries" The woman answered him then asked him a question.
"My memory is a bit foggy so I don't remember much, was there anything with me when your son found me" James lied because he couldn't say that he had a fight with a demon but when he thought about it, he didn't actually understand what happened.
"My son found this cape on your back and he noticed something strange, he said that all the monsters he met seemed to be scared of going in your direction and that there was a huge crater where he met you" The woman said with suspicion.
"Oh , whenever I try to remember what happened, I feel a piercing pain in my head" James cried out in pain as he clutched his head.
"I am sorry for inquiring, eat then get more rest, you are still recovering, I will introduce you to my son when he returns" The woman said then stood up and left.
"I am sorry for lying to you but it was the only way to stop your questioning" James said when he confirmed that she had left.
