Chapter 8

He told the guard they could talk later, and started toward the hall again, I decided to follow him,

"So what's going on?" he said as we started out to the back gardens.

"Well, he wanted me to talk to you about some anomalies or something."

The king turned around and looked at me as I shut the door.

"So he's letting you in on those, well you see, there has been something going on with the world, I found out it's been happening every year, where I end up reliving it."

"Wait really, you have been feeling the resets too!"

He didn't get to finish his sentence, but his look was enough to know he understood, shocked but he got it.

"So that's what it is, resets, how long has it gone on for you?"

I stood still for a second thinking about what he said,

"7 years."

I almost felt the time stop, he turned his head to the withered garden and sighed.

"The garden has died as if it has been that long, after I fired the garden keeper before this started, it doesn't seem to be affected by the resets, I noticed after the second time."

I looked at the garden and thought,

"If the garden did also reset it would look fresh and it's only been a few hours, so it looks off, almost simultaneous to others."

I knelt down next to a stem on the ground surrounded by old crippled petals. It looked so old that if i touched it, it could turn to dust, i took out the flower from earlier and it still looked young and bright, how is it the garden was not resetting, it's a place, not a mental thing, the resets were only supposed to be mostly physical and effected normal people's memory.
