Unexpected in a Chest

Waking up at the crack of dawn I quietly leave the house on the hunt for the last shrine, the Keh Namut shrine.

Looking at the map I decided to climb Mount Hylia and slide my way down to the shrine.

The mountain wind howled as I made my journey, the warm doublet kept me at a perfect temperature.

At about 10 p.m. I found an entrance to a small cave. Taking out some logs I began to make a fire. With a blazing fire, my mental state shifted back to normal. Roasting some food I relaxed for a bit.

Outside the cave I could hear a loud growl, taking a peek I was face to face with a bear. Not liking my intrusion it tried to slice my face off, unfortunately for it I was too fast. I pulled out the dragonbone club and ended it like so. The meat it dropped was well-marbled, I couldn't wait to eat it for dinner.

Getting to the base of Mount Hylia I looked up, stretching up for what seemed like miles I began to second-guess my decision.

Too far in to go back, I advanced up the mountain. Occasionally I would run into monsters, but they've become a bore to fight. I can understand how the lynel felt, beginning to sympathize with the lynel I punched myself for even thinking that.

As nightfall steadily came I wasn't anywhere near the summit. I tried looking for any sort of shelter, unable to find any I pulled out the Sheikah Slate. Facing an icy wall I threw a bomb, running away I detonated it. It made quite the sizable hole, after another bomb I made a crevice large enough to comfortably fit me. Getting inside I excitedly made the fire, pulling out the bear meat I sprinkled it with crushed up nuts.

It was amazing, my mouth salivated. The meat was like a meaty wax. It kept coating my tongue no matter how many times I bit into it.

With my dinner finished I went to sleep.

The following day I was able to get a lot of ground covered.

Walking over something hard and metallic sounding I used Magnesis on the object. Pulling it out a small but well-jeweled chest laid before me. Using Magnesis I picked the lock, looking inside I couldn't believe my eyes. Closing the top I pinched myself, I looked back inside. The cold weather must have had a greater effect on my psychological condition.

Inside the chest, I thought I saw an amiibo figure, an amiibo! Calming myself I take out the contents, it really was an amiibo. Using the Sheikah Slate I confirmed that it was indeed an amiibo. Looking at it carefully I couldn't identify what game it was from. Reading the description on the Sheikah Slate it said the amiibo came from the games "ARMS".

In botw, amiibos could be used to summon chests and other useful items once a day.

Holding the amiibo I place it on top of the Sheikah Slate. After a moment apples started to rain down including a chest.

It worked, it actually worked.

Opening the chest I got a traveler's broadsword, it was much weaker than my dragonbone weapons. Still, I kept it in case I could sell it in the future.

After what seemed like forever I reached the summit. Taking out my shield, I enjoy the ride.

The cold wind burned my face as I slid down the mountain, but I was having too much fun to care. Back in my previous world I lived near the equator, my family was too poor to go on vacations. The closest phenomena to snow was crushing ice in a bowl.

Going over an incline I flew for a while, I truly am glad that I've been given the opportunity to come to this world.

Slightly downhill some white blobs emerged. Icy chuchus, an ice version of the regular chuchus. Swerving to the right I managed to avoid it. Then directly in front of me an icy chuchu popped out of the snow. I tried to stop but I was going too fast, with quick thinking I pulled out the Sheikah Slate and used Stasis to trap the shield. With my momentum stopped I just barely avoided a near-death collision, pulling out my bow I notched a fire arrow.

By sunset, I reached the shrine.

Getting into the familiar elevator I go down, the new feature this time was called Cryonis. Overall this is the most situational feature as it can only be used if water is present, it allows me to make rectangular pillars of ice. Luckily this shrine had water almost everywhere.

With my last feature it was time to conquer this shrine. Before me was a gap with water near the bottom. Using Cryonis I create a pillar of ice, doing a bit of parkour I made my way across.

It led me to a room with a closed gate, the ones seen in medieval castles. There was water seeping through the gap between the floor and the gate. Making an ice pillar I lifted the gate opening my way. Greeting me on the other side was a level 1 guardian scout, dealing with its kind already I had nothing to fear. Closing the distance between us I dispatched it quickly, it took almost no effort.

On the way to the next trial I almost missed a chest, using Cryonis I made a pillar below my feet. Bringing me up I opened the chest for a throwing spear, though not a great weapon I hoped that I could sell it for some rupees.

The next task asked me to make a pillar of ice so I can tilt a seesaw, effectively making a ramp. Making my way up I finished the shrine, grabbing the spirit orb I returned to the entrance.

After about a week on the plateau, I've gathered all the spirit orbs.
