Final Hours

The moonlight reflected off the frosty ground. With all the spirit orbs now in my possession, I can complete the Old Man's quest. I teleported to the Owa Daim shrine as it was close to the Old Man's house.

Once outside his house, there was a note on his door.

'Meet me atop the ruined Temple of Time'

How he knew when I completed the last shrine was beyond me, complying I made my way to the Temple of Time.

Finding a ladder I make my way to the top. The weathered roof was falling apart, I almost fell through a few times. Seeing the Old Man I hasten my pace.

Standing before him he began to speak. Listening to his tale, he told a story of Calamity Ganon.

"I was the former King of Hyrule, King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. 100 years ago a Great Calamity befell my kingdom leaving it in ruins. My daughter, Princess Zelda, is trapped with Ganon in Hyrule Castle. Seek Impa and save my daughter" (King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule)

Giving me the paraglider he faded away. On my left was a chest, opening it I got a soldiers bow, doing 14 damage it outshined my previous bow.

First things first I need to pray to the goddess statue, offering the orbs I am able to increase my stamina and health.

Jumping off I used the paraglider for the first time, the feeling of slowly descending was peaceful. Kneeling before the statue I heard a voice in my head.

'You who have conquered the shrines and claimed their spirit orbs. I can offer you great power. It appears you have claimed 4 spirit orbs. In exchange for 4 spirit orbs, I will amplify your being. So tell me what it is that you desire.'

Without needing a decision I went and used all the orbs for stamina. The reason being the more stamina I have, the longer I can use my power. My limit as of now is around 5 minutes.

Asking the voice to exchange all my orbs for stamina, a divine light shone. Slowly dropping down was a golden container with green in the middle. Absorbed into my body a new stamina gauge appeared, it takes 20 orbs for a full gauge. Since I only had 4 on me the second gauge was 1/5th complete.

That should give me an extra minute.

With my power tamed, it was time to pay a visit to a golden friend.

Making my way to the Forest of Spirits I searched for it, using the map I went to all the large clearings. While in the forest I could hear the screeching of bats, out of nowhere a ball of leather hurled at my face. Taking a sidestep I quickly identified the creature, it was a keese. It was a large bat with only one eye. Bringing its friends along they attacked in unison, they were more annoying than dangerous. Charging up my dragonbone club I killed all the keese at once.

After 20 minutes of searching I found it, its face showed the look of boredom. Preparing for battle I chug an attack boosting elixir, I felt strength radiating throughout my body. Walking out in the open it smiled widely.

"So, you've returned. I thought you left the plateau, telling the tale of your encounter with a golden lynel" (Lynel)

I wasn't one to talk or bad mouth, though I did think it.

'Yeah, the tale of how I defeated my first golden lynel' (Link)

"What's wrong, cat got your tongue? Let's see, where did we leave off?" (Lynel)

Just like last time, it swung its arm. However times have changed, I'm not the same person I was a week ago. The arm moved in slow motion. Performing a backflip I pulled out both clubs, rushing in I got a few hits.

"You're fast little one I'll give you that, but that attack barely left a bruise" (Lynel)

Using its forelegs it tried to crush me. I easily avoided and pelted it with attacks.

The lynel grunted, pulling out its sword and shield it finally got serious. With a deafening roar it started its attack.

With large swipes it tried to slice me in half, unable to hit me its face changed from a slight frown to a frustrated mother.

"Stay still!" (Lynel)

No matter how strong you are, if you are unable to hit your opponent that strength is wasted.

Taking a leap back I used magnetic launch, hitting it with the rusty shield I dealt a decent portion of damage. The shield broke upon impact, having enough the lynel stood on its hind legs. Bringing its sword up, it drove it deep into the ground. Knowing what was about to happen next I made a dash. The next moment a flaming explosion occurred, lynels are immune to elemental effects so it came out unharmed.

Opening its mouth I saw that it began to light up, spewing out fireballs I ran in a circle around it. Soon the whole forest was engulfed in flames. Needing to end this quickly I got an idea. Running towards the lynel it spat a fireball at me, sliding under I was unharmed. Pulling out the Sheikah Slate I used Magnesis and snatched its bow.

'A 5 shot multi bow!' (Link)

Pulling the string back my single arrow magically turned into 5, I shot the lynel inflicting serious damage. With clear anger in its eyes, its bloodlust seeped out of his body. Running around I fired shot after shot at the lynel, its health bar was depleting at a rapid pace.

With a surprise it threw its sword at me, missing, it charged. It must be getting desperate.

Pulling out a spherical bomb I threw it at its feet, slipping on the bomb it fell down. With its face unprotected I unleashed volley after volley, once its health bar was just a sliver away from death it spoke to me.

"I am a golden lynel, one of th-" (Lynel)

I didn't let it finish its sentence as I ended it. Slowly the body turned to smoke and disappeared. Picking up my spoils I laughed.

"Haha, I've become the strongest being in this world!" (Link)

The lynel dropped a lot of goods, the shield has a guard of 62 with durability up modifier. Its sword was something else, the base damage was 58, add in the attack up modifier of 12, and this weapon was nothing to scoff at. The bow was as good as it could get, dealing a base damage of 32 per arrow. That gives a maximum of 160 damage if all arrows hit. It also dropped the regular drops such as hoofs and horns.

Falling down I was exhausted from the fight, with my heart beating I was also a little thrilled at fighting a strong creature.

After a short break, I still wanted to do a few things before I left the plateau. I want to defeat the stone talus and I want to collect all the Korok Seeds on the Great Plateau.

The stone talus was nothing special. Big and slow, it was an easy target. Defeating it I filled the Sheikah Slate with amber and opal.

It was fun exploring the area trying to find the Koroks, sometimes they were under rocks, other times they were in trees. After spending the entire night collecting I saw the sun rising over the horizon. Drinking an energizing elixir, I wondered if its effects were similar to coffee. To my surprise, I felt revived. Since it was a new day I used the amiibo again, this time I received a bundle of arrows.

Standing on the edge of the plateau I look back. This place brought me my first memories of this world, I wish to cherish it forever.

Unfortunately, the map feature won't work unless I climb the tower of that region. With my memories of the game, I should be fine.

I decided to go to Outskirt stables as I had various items to sell, also a piece of the best early game armor should be near that location. Jumping off, the adventure truly began.
