Roman Showdown (POV)

A/N: This is not the next chapter, but a POV from the 7 elementalist. Enjoy

It was 6 p.m. and the knight commander, sir Alexander Lowis the 3rd, was in a meeting room, to his right was his daughter Triana Lowis. The room was filled with rough and smelly adventurers and knights.

Standing up, the room halted to a silence.

"Is Belgarath here" (Alexander)

Waiting a few seconds it would seem that he wasn't present.

With a sigh, the knight commander continued.

"Here is the plan for tomorrow, listen carefully" (Alexander)

Alexander found a rough layout of the colosseum, there were 4 layers each connected by a single staircase. The plan was to split the force in half, one half would keep the monsters on the upper floors at bay. The other half would go with the elementalist and distract the monsters at the bottom.

After discussing the plan the knight commander paused.

"With that clear does anyone have any questions?" (Alexander)

Hands shot up from the crowd. Pointing at someone she spoke.

"How will the distribution of the monster goods be divided?" (Random Girl)

It would seem she only cared about money.

"All of the loot will be equally shared no matter how hard you fought, this will limit infighting among us. Does that answer your question?" (Alexander)

Yes the group said in unison, it seemed that a lot of people had the same question. A majority of the hands dropped but a few still remained.

"Will the city be offering medical aid in the event we are injured?" (Random Guy)

"Yes, no matter how minor the injury is the city will take care of the costs" (Alexander)

Almost all of the hands fell down, only 1 remained.

"You there speak your mind" (Alexander)

"How did you find the existence of the lynel" (Random Guy 2)

"Our soldiers were patrolling the area between Gleeok and Aquame bridge, they saw prints of a lynel in the grass. Following the tracks it led them to the colosseum. They were too scared to venture any further, I hope that answered your question" (Alexander)

Seeing no more hands the knight commander said his final verdict.

"With all the questions out of the way you may leave now" (Alexander)

After everyone left his daughter had a question.

"Father, have you heard of an inn called Elde Inn?" (Triana)

"Do not bother me with such trivial questions, if you have nothing more to say return to the manor. We have an important day tomorrow" (Alexander)

Ignoring his daughter he left to do business elsewhere. Triana felt a little down as her father once again ignored her.

The following morning carriages were lined up outside the main gates.

"Where is Belgarath, he's late" (Alexander)

Alexander had done a headcount everyone was present except Belgarath.

The knight commander was quite annoyed but his tone sounded as if he knew this would happen.

"What did you expect Sir Lowis, he's always late. Not to mention that Shronia isn't here either" (Elize)

The girl with the dark-grey hair spoke to Alexander.

"It'll be fine, we can defeat this lynel without them" (Zoon)

The man with the spear spoke with confidence believing that they didn't need them to win this battle.

Alexander looked at his expensive pocket watch, it was already half past 6. Alexander was the cautious type, he never took risks too large. He decided to wait a little more.

On the other side, a small party was talking.

"Hey Yenir, how many lynels does this one make eh?" (Kenness)

"I think this'll be our 4th lynel" (Yenir)

"When we're done, Ima drink till I can't walk anymore" (Steward)

"Cheers to that Steward" (Toby)

The 2 other members were already discussing what they would be doing after the battle.

Just then Belgarath arrived at the front gates.

"Sorry guys I was out drinking late. I would've slept till past noon if this little brat didn't keep banging on my door" (Belgarath)

Walking beside him was Shronia.

"Okay everyone, get in the carriages, we leave now" (Alexander)

With everyone in tow, they left for the colosseum.

"Belgarath since you were having fun drinking last night you missed out on the plan. I divided the forces up int-" (Alexander)

"Yeah yeah, I get it" (Belgarath)

"But I didn't finish what I wa-" (Alexander)

"I'm tired, lemme sleep" (Belgarath)

With that, he went to sleep.

"Why this brute, how dare he disrespect me like that" (Alexander)

The knight commander didn't like the way Belgarath spoke to him.

"Shronia how do you know where Belgarath lives" (Zoon)

"I just asked the local pubs, he frequently drinks till he passes out. They would usually call carriages to take him home" (Shronia)

"Still weren't you scared to wake him up, I would've been scared" (Yenir)

"The only thing I fear about him is catching whatever diseases he has" (Shronia)

Everyone laughed at that.

"Sir Lowis care to make a friendly wager" (Elize)

"What would this wager be?" (Alexander)

"I bet you 10 silver pieces that the lynel is a white variant" (Elize)

"Okay and I will bet that the lynel is a blue variant" (Alexander)

Shaking hands they agreed to the deal.

"Lady Lowis how many lynels have you slain?" (Zoon)

"This will be my first time encountering a lynel" (Triana)

"Well you're in for a treat, this creature isn't like anything you've ever seen before" (Zoon)

Nearing the entrance of the colosseum the knight commander told everyone to get off. Sending off a scouting party the rest waited. Once the scouting party reached the entrance, arrows pierced them.

"Do not panic, keep calm. Just as we discussed, group one keep the monsters on the higher floors at bay, the rest of you follow me. Everyone drink your preferred elixir" (Alexander)

On his command everyone charged in. The lynel was a white variant meaning that Elize won that bet. It carried its usual bow and shield, but on its back was a flame blade.

"Well would you look at that sir Lowis, I guess I won that wager" (Elize)

Triana was taken back by the sheer aura of the lynel, it really wasn't anything she has ever seen before. The knight commander, Belgarath, Zoon, and Shronia charged in. Being dazed by the sight of the lynel, Triana was a little slow to the fun.

The lynel shot at them, Yenir banged her staff on the blocking any incoming shot. Elize readied her bow and created arrows of ice, firing them she accurately hit the lynel's face.

Belgarath was like a walking tank, with his great flameblade he swung it around wildly. Alexander did a little dance, 3 ice soldiers were formed from the mist.

"I see you still like to play with toy soldiers Alexander" (Belgarath)

"Focus on the task at hand" (Alexander)

The knight commander was more elegant at killing his foes, he perfectly struck the enemy so that it was killed in one hit.

Zoon was fast, with his lightning spear he looked like an electric whirling tornado. He left behind a trail of monster parts.

Shronia used a pair of flame daggers, she killed her enemies before they even knew what killed them.

Triana, like her dad, did her best to kill her foes with one strike. However, she still has room for improvement.

Yenir and Elize supported the 5 with long-ranged attacks.

Reaching the lynel first was the knight commander, dodging the lynel's Alexander slashed at it. Following the lead of their master the ice soldiers attacked the lynel as well.

The ice soldiers moved about with agility like that of a person.

Shortly after Belgarath joined in on the fun. Instead of dodging the lynels attack Belgarath took the attack head-on. He blocked it with his sword. Surprised at his strength the lynel put more force into its attack, unable to withstand the attack Belgarath slid back a little.

With the lynel distracted on Belgarath, Zoon and Shronia both got a swing on the lynel.

Shronia was very agile, she was able to climb the lynel's back and strike at the lynel neck. The lynel bucked trying to shake the person off.

With this many attackers, the lynel was overwhelmed. Getting angry it did its signature move. Raising its sword it shoved it deep into the stone floor. Everyone ran away but Triana as she has never faced a lynel before.

Yenir saw this and quickly made a thick wall of ice in front of Triana. It barely held against the lynel's attack.

Triana wanted to thank Yenir later.

After a long and ensuing battle, the 7 defeated the lynel. All that was left was cleaning up. Helping the others they were able to clean the colosseum by 2 a.m.

After gathering all the spoils the knight commander said a few words. Going back to the carriages they had a long ride back to the city.

Back in the city, the people cheered as the heroes returned. The knight commander walked to an empty spot, with a gesture he issued the 5 to come with him. Standing in the middle he began to give a speech about the brave people who died today defeating a great evil.

Turning Alexander said something to Belgarath and the rest.

"You 5 will come to the cemetery tomorrow at 6 a.m. to mourn the dead" (Alexander)

"What a pain, just send me the money once you finished selling the monster parts" (Belgarath)

Belgarath began to walk away.

"I'd better expect to see you there tomorrow" (Alexander)

The knight commander shouted, though Belgarath seemed to have ignored it.

Just then an elderly gentleman burst into the middle. He asked the knight commander to save his supplier. Earlier today refugees from Digdogg village said a red hinox has terrorized their way of life, I sent my supplier through that region just recently.

The knight commander basically said no and started making up excuses such as the knights only responded to the needs of the city and his soldiers were tired.

If you want a subjection you must take that to the guild. Alexander would help the elderly man fill out a paper.

Just then a young and very handsome man came to the elderly man, he asked why this supplier was so important to the elderly man.

The elderly man told the story of how he raised the boy like a son. Hearing this the handsome stranger agreed to save his supplier. The elderly man shredded teras.

Just then Yenir, Shronia, and Triana appeared and asked to join the handsome man on his quest. At first the handsome tried to deny their help, saying he didn't need it. It didn't work, they didn't take no for an answer.

What is Triana doing, Alexander thought to himself.

"Triana, you cannot leave. We must mourn the dead, as for the 2 of you. You should be ashamed of yourselves" (Alexander)

"I cannot stand here knowing someone will die. I am leaving whether you like it or not" (Triana)

This was the first time she has ever spoken back to Alexander, it surprised him. It would seem all the pent up neglect has made Triana the rebellious type. Without knowing what to do he counted to 3 as if she were a child. As he got to 3 she grabbed the handsome man by the hand and started walking away. The other 2 followed.

Alexander wasn't having it, rushing through he grabbed her by the arm.

"Let go of me" (Triana)

In an instant Alexander was knocked out cold, the assailant was the handsome stranger.
