Roman Showdown

Back in my room I went to bed earlier that day. I wanted to spectate the battle tomorrow. I wanted to know the power difference between me and an average person. The piece of armor should be in the colosseum, after they clear it out for me I can go grab it. Shutting my eyes I rested well that night.

The next morning before leaving for the colosseum I used the amiibo, collecting the goods I left the inn. The colosseum wasn't that far away. I could get there in an hour.

The colosseum was on top of a small mountain. Climbing up the steep sides I made it to the top of the mountain. Along the way I grabbed 2 Korok seeds, another one should be in the colosseum.

The colosseum was surrounded by this black and red goo. It is known as malice, a byproduct of Calamity Ganon. Pulling out a herb I got from Granny Smith I dipped it into the malice, once it touched the goo it shriveled up. I made a mental note to never touch that.

I still needed to climb the colosseum walls, if I went through the front the lynel would see me.

At the top of the wall, I peered down into the colosseum. Calling it massive was an understatement, it was absolutely ginormous. The diameter must've been over 1000 feet. For reference, the diameter of the Roman Colosseum is about 600 feet.

The colosseum had 4 layers, the base layer was where the lynel was. The other 3 floors had monsters wandering around, one staircase connected all the floors.

Drinking a sneaky elixir I made my way down to a ledge, lying comfortably I awaited the show. The time was 7 a.m.

There were various monsters such as bokoblins, moblins, and lizalfos. There were even silver variants mixed in. They each held a multitude of weapons, the silver types had the best ones. The lynel was a white variant, 2 levels away from being gold. It carried the usual equipment such as the multishot bow and shield, it also carried a flameblade on its back.

They sure did take their time, at around 10 a.m. a scouting party entered the colosseum. They didn't try to be discreet, the lynel noticed immediately and shot them.

They died without ever getting to swing their sword, dying they released a white smoke before they disappeared. All that was left of them were their equipment, how scary it is to die in this world. Nothing of you remains.

With a loud warcry, the rest came charging in.

I used the scope feature for a better view, the 7 came fully equipped. They each had their own elemental weapons.

There were also 50-60 other adventures and soldiers with them. Half the group went up the stairs, the other half went straight for the lynel. The lynel looked quite worried, issuing orders the monsters sounded their horns signaling an attack.

The lynel pulled out its bow and started firing shock arrows. Yenir banged her staff on the ground, then an icy wall appeared blocking the arrows.

'What was that?' (Link)

I started to feel less special after witnessing that.

The dark grey-haired girl bombarded the lynel with ice arrows she created.

It would seem that magic is well developed in this world. There were a few others with staffs as well, they mimicked Yenir and made ice walls of their own. However, their walls were much thinner and they could only block a shot before they crumbled. I witnessed the power difference between an elementalist and an ordinary person.

The 7 focused on the lynel while everyone else kept the monsters at bay. This seemed like a bad plan, lynels are immune to elemental effects. Sending the 7 elementalist would be like sending regular people.

I would soon see the power elementalist had.

Alexander rushed in killing his enemies with one strike. He was graceful with every swing, he was a true knight commander.

The blonde guy was talented with the spear, aiming at vitals he was able to dispatch his enemies with 1 strike.

The Sheikah guy used a pair of twin flaming daggers. He wasn't as strong, he needed a few more strikes to finish a target. However he was the nimble type, instead of parrying the attacks as the others he would dodge every attack perfectly.

Belgarath was sloppy, he used his mass bulk and great flameblade to chew through enemies. Most of the time he wouldn't even bother to parry attacks, but he didn't seem to mind as he shrugged it off.

Triana had a little bit of everything. She was nimble and graceful, and she aimed at vitals ensuring she would kill the enemy. Though you could still see the imperfections as sometimes the enemy needed more than one strike.

I turned my attention to Alexander, he twirled around with his frostblade as if he were dancing. He left behind a frosty mist. Soon the mist clumped together and 3 ice soldiers were formed.

'WHOA!' (Link)

Following their master he was the first to make contact with the lynel. Shortly after Belgarath caught up and then everyone else.

On the left flank was the Sheikah guy, on the right was the blonde guy. Triana helped the pair in the middle.

The battle was legendary.

The elementalist truly were special. Little by little they were able to overwhelm the lynel.

It didn't take long for them to defeat the lynel. Afterwards the 7 helped the others finish up. It was 2 a.m. by the time they were done. There were 8 deaths and 13 seriously injured.

After they left I went down into the now empty colosseum. After a quick search using Magnesis I found the chest. Opening it up I received the phantom helmet. I also remembered to get the Korok seed.

This helmet gave an armor rating of 8, it also increased my damage output. I didn't take long so I wasn't far behind their carriages.

Once back at the city the citizens were praising them. The 7 took most of the attention. Alexander then held his arms as if he wanted silence.

"Let us pray to the Goddess Hylia for the brave souls that laid down their lives today" (Alexander)

He then turned to the 5 and said something.

When Belgarath said something Alexander got visibly angry. After a brief exchange of words, Belgarath walked away.

Just then an elderly gentleman burst through the crowd.

"Please sir Lowis, you must send troops to Digdogg village. Earlier today refugees from that village said a red hinox has terrorized their way of life, I sent my supplier through that region just recently" (Elderly Man)

The knight commander didn't seem to care.

"Forgive me, the knight order only responds to the needs of the city. Though I will help you issue a request to the guild, if you have payment" (Alexander)

"I understand" (Elderly Man)

The elderly man frowned, it would seem this wasn't the first time he was turned down.

Walking through the crowd I came before the elderly man.

"Why are you so concerned? He is just a supplier" (Link)

Seeing me he responded.

"He was a street boy and would occasionally steal from my shop. One day I had enough and followed him down an alleyway. Instead of eating the food he stole, he gave it all to his younger sister. She was blind and frail, left behind by their family her brother was the only one she had. Something in me changed that day, I offered him work. He was confused, he said why would you hire someone that stole from you. I said to leave the past behind and look forward to the future. Never has he shown up late. Always working at dawn till dusk, he is like a son to me. Eventually, he became my supplier, bringing specialties from all over the world." (Elderly Man)

That was quite the long and touching story, I've made up my mind. I'm helping this elderly man.

"I will go save your son" (Link)

With tears in his eyes he began to cry.

"Thank you, I've asked every adventurer I could find but they always turned me down because I was offering too little. Please tell me your name kind sir" (Elderly Man)

"My name is Link" (Link)

Then Yenir, Triana, and the Sheikah person came before us. They also wanted to help the elderly man.

I wanted to refuse. I wanted to teleport to the Keh Namut shrine, from there I could glide down to Digdogg bridge. If I went with them we would probably take horses and that could potentially take days.

I pleaded to them, I didn't want them to join me. I tried making up excuses but they weren't having it. Letting out a sigh I let them join me.

For some reason the knight commander didn't want Triana to help the elderly man.

"Triana, you cannot leave. We must mourn the dead at the church tomorrow" (Alexander)

Is this guy serious, someone is going to die. I understand his want to mourn the dead, but surely saving someone is more important.

"I cannot stand here knowing someone will die. I am leaving whether you like it or not" (Triana)

"Get back here, don't speak to your father like that" (Alexander)

Her father! I was shaken, I couldn't see the resemblance.

Triana grabbed my hand and started leaving, the other 2 followed suit.

"Okay that's it, I'm giving you the count of 3. I'm not joking, 1, 2, 3. Get back here!" (Alexander)

Of course, the father would have trouble. I never saw Triana as the rebellious type.

Alexander had enough, forcing his way through the crowd he grabbed her arm.

"Let go of me" (Triana)

Without thinking I struck Alexander's neck leaving him unconscious.

I hope I didn't make a mistake.

Everyone was surprised.

'He just took out the knight commander'

'I wouldn't want to mess with that guy'

'He's pretty hot'

Walking away I followed the 3. Our first destination was Outskirt Stables, with Triana's help we were going to rent the best horses. During our walk I found out the Sheikah guy was actually a Sheikah girl. I couldn't believe it, she was as flat as they could get.
