The 7

As I was going back to the inn my stomach growled. I went down a well-decorated street with stores and restaurants on both sides. A wonderful aroma drifted into my nose, following it I came to a restaurant called Luana's Cook. The place was lively with many couples and families.

Going to an empty table I sat down, a waiter came and told me tonight's menu.

Couples and families were having fun and laughing. The citizens must trust their soldiers and adventurers.

My food came, after paying the tab I went back to the inn.

Instead of the girl from this afternoon, an older gentleman greeted me. He was probably the girl's father, the innkeeper.

"Hello, do you need a room?" (Innkeeper)

"No, my name is Link" (Link)

Checking through his book he saw my name and gave me my key.

Lying on my bed I set an alarm on the Sheikah Slate for midnight. Waking up I drink a sneaky elixir. Going out the window I head towards the Rota Ooh shrine. As I ran across the rooftops of the city I noticed that the closer I got to the middle the nicer the architecture. In the middle was a grand castle, it was quite the sight.

Passing that I arrived at the shrine, conquering it quickly I went back to the inn.

The shrine had a chest, in it was a feathered edge.

The next morning I took out the Sheikah Slate and used the amiibo. Storing the items I wondered what I would do with the chest. I tried to put it in the Sheikah Slate, it worked. I had a few things to do today. Going to the Outskirt stables I went to browse their horses. I was definitely faster than a horse but my feet were aching from running everywhere. A horse would solve that problem.

Most of the horses cost thousands of rupees, I didn't have that amount. Needing money I went back to the adventurers guild hoping to make quick cash.

Once I got there, there was a commotion happening.

I asked an adventurer what was going on, he said the knight commander came to inform the participating adventurers of the lynel subjugation. I could've done it with ease. Needing a whole army showed just how powerful I was compared to them.

"We have looked through the documents of all adventurers living in this city, for the sake of Outskirt City you must participate if you are ranked B or above. Failure to participate will result in a fine or even imprisonment" (Knight Commander)

I looked to see where the voice came from. I saw a tall man with a well-defined face, he had very light blue hair and dark green eyes. Combined with his pearl toned skin he looked strange yet exotic. Next to him was the girl I met yesterday, I think she said her name was Triana Lowis.

A large muscular man came out of the crowd and started to speak to the knight commander in a casual tone.

"Alexander, long time no see. How have you been?" (Large Man)

"Belgarath, do not speak to me so casually" (Alexander)

"Aw, come on. Why the cold shoulder, I thought we were buddies?" (Belgarath)

Ignoring him the knight commander continued.

"Are the 5 Elementalist here?" (Alexander)

Popping up one by one 4 others emerged from the crowd, one of them was Yenir.

One of them had an average build, not too much bulk but not too lean. He had messy golden hair as if he were struck by lightning.

Another one carried a bow, she had long dark grey hair that hangs loose.

The last one looked like he came from the Sheikah Tribe, he was quite thin. Most of his face and head were covered so the only things I could see were his feminine jet black eyes.

"You 5 will be important in our victory tomorrow, make sure to rest tonight. No drinking" (Alexander)

They all saluted and shouted yes, except for Belgarath.

"Later this evening at 6 there will be a meeting at the town hall. I expect all the participants to be there, relay this information to any others that aren't currently here" (Alexander)

After that, the knight commander also told everyone to gather at the front gates by 6 in the morning tomorrow. Actually I think he directed it at Belgarath then to tell us, almost as if he knew Belgarath wouldn't come to the meeting later this evening. Alexander left with Triana, for some reason Belgarath was grumpy afterward.

"What a drag, I've defeated many lynels on my own before. He always acts all high and mighty" (Belgarath)

Belgarath seemed like the kind of person who thought with his fists, he also seemed to hate those with higher status.

With no more interest, I went to the request board. Let's see here, help wanted at shoe store pay is 8 rupees an hour. That seemed like a decent job, looking around I picked a request that needed help at a herbalist store. The pay was the same but I wanted it because it was located in a herbalist store. I chose this job for 2 reasons. I could make money and I could learn a little more about herbs and plants. I went to Clair and asked her to sign me up for this job. I didn't even need an interview, after Clair checked the box she told me where the herbalist store is.

The sign said Granny Smith's Herbs, walking in I was hit with the strong odor of herbs. Ringing the bell attached to the door an old lady came out. Showing her the paper I got from Clair she put me right to work. I just needed to help her son load the wagon with supplies.

I waited until a wagon appeared. The driver was probably the son, his name is Iven. In the wagon were 2 others. Apparently they took this request a few days ago and have been working here since. Since the blood moon is nearing, the store needed to stockpile as many ingredients as they could so they could create the best concoctions.

After a whole day of work we were paid, once everyone left I asked Granny Smith how she made elixirs. She told me that I might not understand her craft but I told her not to worry. After a brief moment, she said why not. She took me to the back, Iven was already hard at work. There were multiple cauldrons for making elixirs.

The first thing she told me was, don't mix up the terms potions and elixirs. They are different things. I asked what the difference was.

"Potions are made with plants and elixirs are made from monster parts and bugs" (Granny Smith)

Seeing the large cauldrons I guessed that it could probably hold more than 5 items. I asked how she overcame the 5 item rule, she asked what that was. I changed my wording. I asked how she was able to make large batches of potions, she said that as long as you had the right proportions the potion wouldn't come out diluted.

I see I could make large batches as long as the proportions are right. Showing her my sneaky elixir she was quite disappointed in it. She said that the proportions were right but the ingredients weren't processed.

I asked her to explain, she said that unprocessed ingredients would yield lower results. She took a fresh stamella mushroom and showed it to me. Testing me she asked how much stamina this would recover when cooked, I said cooking this will recover 1/5th of your stamina gauge. Correct she said, however if you process it the potency will be higher, and using it will recover 1/4th of a stamina gauge.

There were so many new concepts, my brain was starting to hurt. Since I was here she asked if I wanted a bonus on my pay. I was already learning, I might as well get paid too. Giving me a basket of truffles she told me to lay them down onto a baking tray.

"Wouldn't that just roast the truffles?" (Link)

She said that as long as we keep the temperature at a fixed amount the truffles would be fine, we are trying to dry them not roast them.

Telling me that she has already dried a batch beforehand she gestured for me to come. In a bowl were the dried-up truffles, she led me to a millstone and asked me to grind them. I did just that, a stream of white powder collected in a glass jar. Once the blood moon was active she would use the powder and make potions.

I wanted to witness the creation of potions on a blood moon, as if reading my mind she said I could help her make potions on the blood moon. Granny Smith seemed like a kind elderly lady.

I asked if I could take the powder as is, she said it would still heal you but using them for potions on a blood moon would increase the effects.

Thanking her for the lesson I made my way out, I've learned what I could but earning money for a horse this way will take months.

Walking through alleyways I tried to find street gambling. I came across a few games but they were all card games. After a bit of searching I found what I wanted to play, Sloppy Dice. You win if you roll a 7, 11, or double. I chose this game because I could cheat using Stasis.

I rolled the dice, I waited for the dice to slow down before activating my power. I proceeded time slower than the other players, once the dice landed I would quickly trap and untrap it using Stasis. This would stop the momentum allowing me to choose what number I wanted. I tried to go with 7's as 7 had the most combinations.

I made sure to lose every so often, after just an hour of playing I had enough money to buy a strong horse.
