Fotola died, what remains is her clothing and a necklace. Hatsotan pocketed the accessory.
Crossing the bridge, Hatsotan is back in the city. He's had his fun, now it's time to get to work.
Besides the well-fortified bridges, the city has little protection.
At the center of the city is the Royal Palace of the Zora Family. Using invisibility Hatsotan walked right past the guards.
He wants to learn the fundamentals of how this government works. He has asked Ganon many times, but Ganon isn't the brightest of creatures. Hatsotan knows that much of the world is ruled under monarchies, what he doesn't know is how powerful the Zora monarch is.
Unsure of where to go, Hatsotan chose a random direction. Every so often he would pass a statue of one particular Zora girl.
"I haven't seen her face in ages" (Ganon)
"Mipha, I presume" (Hatsotan)
"She was strong, but I am stronger" (Ganon)
After a bit of wandering around, Hatsotan found what he wanted. The library.
"Reading, is that all you like to do?" (Ganon)
"Information wins battles" (Hatsotan)
Greeting him inside is the librarian. A young Zora male in his early hundreds, he is thin and tall with spectacle like eyes.
"Hello, do you need any assistance?" (Librarian)
"I'll be fine, thank you" (Hatsotan)
Walking past the rows of shelves, Hatsotan stopped on the Political and Social section.
For the next few hours, he read as much as he could. From his research, he concluded that the Zora nation has a monarch with a council. Disrupting these branches will surely dampen the Zora military.
As night approached the palace laid silent. The librarian is still here, sneaking behind him Hatsotan knocked him out and allowed Ganon to poison him with Malice. In just an hour he is under their control.
"Where do the elites stay?" (Ganon)
"On the west wing" (Librarian)
"A bit more specific please" (Hatsotan)
"That's all I know, I am not permitted beyond the west wing" (Librarian)
With all the information they have, they left the library for the west wing.
Luckily a Zora with a bit more seniority passed them shortly. Abducting him, the Zora gave them more details on the whereabouts of the elites.
As they neared the west wing, a young Zora with the royal crest is training in a small courtyard. The Zora is built like a knight, he has pristine red scales, and his handsome face pairs nicely with his beautiful smile. His opponent is a Hylian with a thunder spear. The Hylian is nothing special, a bit overweight with a scruffy face. Hatsotan watched from afar.
There are Zora guards watching the duel, they're here because they are untrusting of the Hylian.
"AHHH" (Zora Royal)
The Zora Royal wielded a traditional Zora Spear and Shield, charging in, he took the first strike. The Hylian parried cleanly and lunged, the Zora blocked with the shield. The Zora Royal advanced, the Hylian seemed to let his guard down as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Then a small electric field came rushing out of the Hylian, temporarily stunning the Zora Royal and forcing him into a kneeling position.
Surprisingly the Zora Royal took minimal damage, he seems to be quite resistant to electricity. The Zora stood up and charged again. Learning from his past mistake, when the Hylian tried the same trick the Zora backed up. After seeing that the Zora wouldn't attack the Hylian went on the offensive, the Zora readied itself. When the Hylian was in striking distance, the Zora Royal swung horizontally, the Hylian ducked. The Hylian aimed at the legs, inflicting a small scratch. They exchanged blows for a few minutes before the Zora had enough electricity.
Kneeling down, the Zora began catching his breath. On the other hand, the Hylian hasn't broken a sweat.
A servant brought an elixir for the Zora Royal to drink, his health replenished.
"Well done Prince Sidon, you are getting stronger every day" (Hylian)
"Thank you Ronald for your words of praise" (Sidon)
Even though Sidon is winded from fighting, he answered with lots of vigor.
"Shall we call it a night?" (Ronald)
"No, let us continue. I must get even stronger and defeat Vah Ruta with Link" (Sidon)
"As you wish my prince, tell me when you are ready" (Ronald)
Hatsotan changed his plan, the prince is right there. When the prince decides to return to his room Hatsotan will follow him.
After a few minutes, Sidon got up and they began to spar again.
In the middle of their session, an older Zora walked into view.
"Prince Sidon please, it's past 8. Go to bed, you have a lot of paperwork to do tomorrow" (Old Zora)
"Councilman Muzu" (Ronald)
Ronald stomped his spear on the floor and closed his fist to salute.
"Muzu, I can feel it. Link has awakened, we can reclaim Vah Ruta" (Sidon)
"Do not speak of that name in front of me. Guards, escort the prince to his quarters" (Muzu)
"Yes councilman Muzu" (Guards)
Muzu left them.
"Let's call it a night, I don't want to get you in trouble" (Sidon)
"Yes prince Sidon, a goodnight to you" (Ronald)
"I wish you a goodnight Ronald" (Sidon)
On queue, Hatsotan followed Sidon. They were led to the third story on the west wing, guarding his room are two Zora knights.
"Going to sleep already, usually you spar till midnight" (Zora Guard)
"Muzu told me to go to bed" (Sidon)
Sidon entered the room, Hatsotan slipped in quietly.
Instead of sleeping, Sidon started yelling.
"Manifest before me! Heal! Sidon's Grace!" (Sidon)
He began saying weird things and striking bizarre poses, Hatsotan was confused but found it quite amusing.
"Why can't I do it, I'm Mipha's brother. Why don't I possess the power, I'm her age now" (Sidon)
He became a little frustrated.
"Sidon, you are the people's hopes and dreams. Have a bright smile on your face and everything will be okay" (Sidon)
Now he's talking to himself.
After a brief prep talk, he went to bed. They waited till they heard him snoring before they injected the Malice into him. He is now under their control. With nothing else to do, Hatsotan searched the room for secrets.
He found a diary within a desk. It is not his, it belongs to Mipha.
[At the request of Hyrule's King, a group of outsiders came to greet us at the domain. One of them was a Hylian child of only about four years of age. His name was Link. He made quite a first impression. He was curious and full of energy, with a ready smile...]
It seems Mipha had a liking towards Link. There is a part where her powers first developed, it just naturally came to her after the Divine Beast was found.
Morning soon came, Sidon woke up and began to dress. Today Hatsotan would follow him and observe. Outside the room is a secretary-like girl, she is tall, wears a pair of glasses, and has that serious look that most secretaries have.
"Prince Sidon, today's schedule is as follows. You have a meeting with the Noblemen's under Otalmo Apan's territory at noon, afterward you will attend the ceremony for the new recruits, then you have multiple proposers who wish to build a new port" (Ali)
"I will fulfill my duties for my people" (Sidon)
Full of energy, Sidon started his day.
It is noon, a trio of Zora noblemen sit in a meeting room that Sidon had prepared. Sidon entered the room promptly.
"Viscount Hophon Keki, Koraka Malvi, Atena Ovun, did councilmen Otalmo Apan send you 3 to complain?" (Sidon)
Each councilman has Viscounts that serve under them, under the Viscounts are the Barons.
"Prince Sidon, your decision on the fishing restrictions has caused an uproar in our territories" (Hophon Keki)
While saying that, Hophon sloppily munched on a biscuit.
Hophon Keki is short and fat, his scales shine a greasy gleam.
"As you already know, it was decided by the council to limit fishing as the fish population has been decreasing lately, I just finalized the paperwork. Councilmen Otalmo Apan lost the argument during the lastest council meeting" (Sidon)
"This is preposterous, I am losing money because of this" (Atena Ovun)
Atena Ovun has fair toned scales and her clothing reeks of wealth.
Sidon knows this meeting is nothing more than a way for them to waste his time. But with an image to protect he remained calm.
"Spawning season is soon, please wait until then. After that the fishing restrictions will be uplifted" (Sidon)
"That is after the blood moon, the demand for fish is increasing. We have to sell as much as we can now!" (Koraka Malvi)
Koraka Malvi lost his cool. Of the 3, he looks to be the youngest.
For the next hour, the 3 continued to demand for the restrictions to be removed.
'Those 3 are suitable candidates, we must control them' (Ganon)
The 3 knew they wouldn't win, they just wanted someone to vent to.
"If you have nothing else to say, I have a very busy day. Good day to you all" (Sidon)
They left the meeting room, quietly following them is Hatsotan. They each entered a room in the palace, one by one, Ganon infected the 3.
"Disobey Sidon's orders and continue to overfish" (Ganon)
"As you command my lord" (Hophon Keki)
After commanding the 3 to continue overfishing they returned to Sidon. Since Sidon has been infected with malice, Ganon is able to locate him. He is in his office with a tall stack of paperwork.
"Tell him to stop" (Hatsotan)
Ganon commanded Sidon.
"Stop what you are doing" (Ganon)
"Yes, my lord" (Sidon)
Hatsotan began reading the paperwork.
[Plans for new welfare tax
More money towards education
Increase military budget
Increase tariffs
Increase income tax
...]
Hatsotan wants to divert the spending into other areas while simultaneously limiting military power. Rejecting tax increases and increasing spending in other areas will deplete the treasury, leaving little for the military.
Telling Sidon what to approve and what not approve, this will hopefully weaken the city.
It is around 6 P.M., the ceremony for the new recruits is about to begin.
Riding in the carriage with Sidon, they arrived at one of the Zora military bases.
Hatsotan made his way into the armory and had Ganon eat the weapons.
After that Hatsotan watched the ceremony, each of these new recruits will soon be killed in the future battle. Sidon welcomed each with a handshake before reciting a long speech.
After the ceremony is the discussion about the new port.
The venue for the meeting is hosted by an architecture firm, Sidon will get to choose the team with the best design. Forcing Sidon to choose the most expensive one will make a decently sized dent in the treasury.
With his seeds sown, Hatsotan walked back into the city. Going to the eastern bridge to return to Ploymus Mountain, Preston came in the opposite direction.
"Hatsotan, hey Hatsotan!" (Preston)
Preston waved him down.
"Preston, nice to see you again. What's troubling you?" (Hatsotan)
"Did you hear? The waitress from that restaurant is missing" (Preston)
Putting up an act, Hatsotan looked confused.
"Really, what happened?" (Hatsotan)
"Well, she hasn't returned home since yesterday. People said they saw you with her" (Preston)
"She said she had something to do, so she went on ahead of me" (Hatsotan)
Hatsotan began to walk away. Preston followed him.
"Where did she go afterward?" (Preston)
Hatsotan didn't speak.
Preston still believes that Hatsotan is a good man, after all, he did save his life. Though some lingering feelings of distrust dwelled within him.
They're in an alleyway away from the main street.
Turning around Hatsotan showed the necklace worn by Fotola.
"What's that?" (Preston)
"The necklace she dropped when I killed her" (Hatsotan)
"You killed her, but why?!" (Preston)
Hatsotan just smiled, Preston became uneasy and prepared to fight or run for his life.
"Remember when I saved your life, well its time to pay up" (Hatsotan)
Using his superior strength, Hatsotan slammed Preston into a wall.
From Hatsotan's sleeve, a blade extracted, he aimed it directly for Preston's throat. Coughing blood he began cursing at Hatsotan.
"He-lp, he-lp" (Preston)
His cries for help were barely audible.
"Cry all you want, no one is going to see or hear you" (Hatsotan)
Hatsotan continued stabbing Preston in non vital areas, Preston pulled his pocket knife out and stabbed Hatsotan in the heart.
To his surprise, Hatsotan merely pulled the blade out. No blood gushed out and the wound closed almost immediately.
"Wha-t are y-ou?" (Preston)
"The guy who saved your life" (Hatsotan)
Preston's eyes stared into nothingness as he died, then his body disappeared.
Hatsotan has enjoyed his time in this city. He awaits when the fleet is finished.
