The Charred Present

The flames of Claudia's memories burnt brightly and singularly as she stood still like her statue. Just now, she has pushed her body to the absolute limit by unleashing every single ounce of remaining heat within her. Her skin felt like the burnt pieces that were thrown back into the deepest corners of the pizza oven, so charred and brittle and even the slightest breeze can break it apart and the slightest movement can peel it off her body.

There were tingling sensations all throughout her body, and the after-effects of her letting lose her heat death applied a constant toll on her body. The echoing of pain bounced within her, amplifying with the return of her sensations as time goes on.

However, nothing she suffered physically compared to what she heard mere moments before. With the sound and voice distorted, coming from a body that was broken up, patched in and barely put together, from a voice she still haven't got used to....
