He practically shoved me out of his office. Well, not physically but I knew he was annoyed of me. I went back into my apartment and set my things down. Then began opening binder to read the first page. It was labeled as, "Contracts and agreements."
I read until the evening which my eyes got tired. I randomly signed my signature not caring about the agreements anymore. It wasn't super important right? All I had to do was sign my name to agree to marrying Alexander, that was probably what the whole thing was about.
I got ready for bed and slept till the morning when it was 12 pm. Wow, that late?
I had usually gotten up at 7 am for my classes, now I was basically education less. I yawned, checking my phone for notification. Which I had none.
Sighing, I got up preparing myself. I put on black leggings and grey hoodie. Then grabbed my bag.
I didn't get breakfast because I'm pretty much broke—although I could use my parents credit card, I won't. I kind of feel bad for them already, I've used their money all my life. And I wanted to get a job, good education and pay them back for it in the future. But now I can't even do that. Much less, I couldn't even get a good education. What am I now expected to do? I could always get a job, but I doubt they would have any. For gods sake, this New York City.
I put the big binder in my bag and started heading out. It was already 2 pm by the time I was heading to the train station. I tried swiping my metro card, but it didn't go through. What the hell? It had said that the balance was zero dollars! I groan getting my card out, which had the last five dollars in it and bought a new metro card. Sighing, I swiped the metro card and entered into the platform.
I checked my phone, it was already 2:30pm and the train wasn't even here yet! The trip to Mostelli Enterprises was at least 30 minutes of train ride to get there.
After waiting for about another ten minutes, the train was finally here. And let me tell you, it was packed. No wonder there was a delay.
The whole ride, I felt super uncomfortable. Everyone was literally touching each other. But I finally got off my stop and got out of the station. I breathed into the fresh air and was suddenly super relaxed. The neighborhood where the building was, was pretty much rich. It was a financial district, I was guessing.
I walked through the streets that were also pretty busy with people accidentally bumping into each other. And finally I was in front of the Mostelli building. I suddenly remembered the time and quickly checked it.
3:10pm. Oh shoot, I was late. And I'm pretty sure Alexander didn't like that.
I rushed into the building and went up to the receptionist—the same lady from yesterday was there.
"Um—where is Alexander Mostelli?" I ask politely with a smile, trying not to show my panicked expression. "You are about to be fifteen minutes late. He's up in his office." She glares and me and scoffs.
Oops.
I entered the elevator which took me to the thirtieth floor and quickly rushed in front of his office, knocking on the door.
"Come in," his dark voice says sternly, he almost sounded mad.
I turned the handle and opened the door, revealing him. His expression was shown as annoyed and upset. Wonder why.
"Sorry I was late—the train was de—," I quickly rushed out my words until he stopped me.
"There's no excuse. If your late, then your late," he stares at me deeply, like he was trying to figure me out.
"Yeah I know that, and I'm sor—," once again. I was cut off.
"I don't care what you have to say. Just give me the damn contracts," he says loudly. It was intimidating. He runs his fingers through his soft looking dark hair and sighed out, annoyed.
I quickly pulled out the binder and handed it to him. "You read all the agreements, I suppose?" He asks me, wondering.
"Yep," the lie slips right through my words. But he could probably tell I was lying.
"So you know that you're supposed to move into my apartment tomorrow?" He raises an eyebrow. "Yes?" I reply with, but it sounded like a question.
He nods and speaks, "Alright, you can get out now." I replied with an "Okay," and headed out. I finally let out a breath. I didn't really have the time to look at him but I did notice his white button up shirt had three buttons unbuttoned on the top, showing his smooth skin. And how he was wearing dark black jeans with it. He was attractive—not that I would ever admit out loud though.
I exited the Mostelli building.
Tomorrow would be a new day.
