Museum and Pyramids II

The moment Jade walked out of the taxi and looked up at the huge building in front of her she knew immediately that something was going to happen today.

The energy that she's been feeling is back again and now much more potent and powerful than the previous ones. She gasped as the strange phenomenon continued to lick her senses to the point that she had beads of sweat crowning her forehead.

She doesn't feel right, everything in this place feels off to her. Her intuition tells her not to go in, but something is controlling her movements. Her feet moved slowly towards the direction of the entrance of the building.

'W-why? Why am I moving towards the building? What is going on?!'

Jade panics, as she's trying to control her emotions but for some reason a small part of her wanted this. To go in there and to fill the hole that's encompassing her heart.

Who is it that she's yearning for out of all this mess?

"Jade, are you coming? Or are you just gonna stand there looking all pretty?!" Angela yells.

Jade looked up and she saw Angela in front of the entrance door while she still hadn't taken a single step towards the big staircase.

She looked around her and she could see a beautiful open landscape with a lot of exotic and tropical plants everywhere. Jade also sees this gigantic statue that is standing on guard right next to the entrance door.

Magnificent, and she's not even inside the museum yet but the scenery outside is already beautiful.

However, Jade is having goosebumps again, this place is really giving her the creeps.

Jade then hurriedly walked up the staircase.

"I'm coming," she said as she looked around her one more time as if a monster would suddenly pop out and abduct her.

Jade and Angela both stepped foot inside the big museum as their jaws dropped and both looked around in awe. They had never thought that this museum could hold all these beautiful artifacts all at once!

Everywhere they land their eyes on is a work of art. There are so many precious artifacts that are being showcased. And all of them came from thousands of years ago. When ancient civilization used to live and prosper on these lands.

How cool would it be to see the world back then? How nice would it be to watch the sculptor carved all these precious metals or these beautiful pottery. And to see the hands and the faces who used to make them.

Though Jade couldn't imagine living at the time where a person's life must be very fragile, where famine and diseases are rampant and killing people from left to right no matter what age. And warfare is definitely a big part of it too since all of it is prevalent at that period.

She thought sadly.

"Wow, amazing! Are you seeing all these beautiful bricks of wall that have all these writings Jade? or how about this wig. This is so cool! What do you think I would look like if I wore them?" Angela said while jumping all around excitedly.

Jade only heard the first thing she said as she is focused on the big pieces of walls that have writings all over them.

Jade can't believe it! She knows those bricks! Or more specifically those writings!

The dreams.

That's where she had seen them multiple times! How did she not figure it out until now?!

As Jade scans them she can't help but be amazed that she's finally seeing them in real life. When she's dreaming she would just have a quick look at them before her attention would be dragged again to the mysterious man.

And this is the cycle of her dreams every night. It's always the same place, same furniture, and same man. In a daze Jade took a step forward until the enclosed glass that's protecting the ancient wall stopped her.

She raised her hand and touched the glass softly and carefully as if she's touching the actual wall itself.

"How strange," she whispers.

"Jade, I just asked a man about this writing! And he said it's called hieroglyphics," Angela said.

"What?" Jade looked at her.

"I said that this writing is called hieroglyphics. This is what Ancient Egyptians used to communicate back in the day. Isn't that crazy? I wonder how they're able to read this things," Angela said with a confused look on her face.

Jade looked back at the tablet again.

"Yes, it's very beautiful indeed," she whispers.

"Okay, let's move on and look around! There is so much more to see!" Angela took a hold of her arm and dragged her to the other side of the museum where there's more mummified coffins.

They saw Pharaohs and noble artifacts that were collected, even the majestic coffins of Pharaohs are also on this side. And is strictly enclosed in this thick glass so people can see while at the same time preserving them.

"Wow! look at this coffin Jade! He was a Pharaoh back in 1325 BC. He is called King Rameses II and he is considered to be one of the most famous and notorious Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt!

How amazing is that? Though it's unfortunate that he died really young," Angela said sadly.

Jade looked at the coffin her best friend was talking about. And Jade is stunned once again. This coffin must have cost a lot of fortunes back in the day! Based on how the coffin itself is made of stone and painted with gold.

With intricate drawings of different shapes and vibrant colors covered the whole thing. Even the mask you can tell was meticulously made with such finesse and detailing that would have probably taken days if not weeks to make.

This is the only coffin that was separated from the rest, deliberately exhibiting the utmost importance of this specific King out of the other ones. Not that other Kings and Queens are relevant but this one seems to be more significant.

And the fact that this coffin is much more isolated than the rest and much grander says it all. This man must have done some outstanding heroic deed thousands of years ago.

Just as she took her eyes on the coffin she moved to observe the mummy right next to it. She can't help but feel sad. She can tell by the height of the mummy that he is tall, which is unheard of based on what she's learned from her history class.

Usually, back in the day people didn't have much resources to get the best nutrient to consume foods, that is why it hindered their growth.

And let's not talk about how the diseases and the wars could've also played a big part in why people die so young.

But this man must've been relentless in taking care of his body. She wonders what drives him to be this strong when others don't have the same capability as him and could easily destroy any enemies that he has in front of him.

'So, why would you go to this lengths?'

Jade thought as she continued to roam her blue eyes on the once majestic king and at one time left his footprints on this very same land.

That's when she noticed this unique but beautiful round amulet on his sternum. As if it was put there for people to see and admire.

'So beautiful. What is it?'

Jade noticed how the amulet is also made of gold all the way to the chains. The center is shaped like an eye with blue iris and a supposedly black kohl surrounding it.

She also couldn't help but notice how the eye is slightly slanted as if to emphasize the kohl making the eye stand out more.

And outside of the middle is this ring where there's engraving written inside of it.

'How bizarre. I wonder what it means.'
