Chapter 3: Never Trust The Silent Ones

Minutes later after he introduced himself, turns out he transfer schools, a lot. I mean, that's not surprising.

And his name is Miguel Ángel Iglesias. Sounds angelic to me.

Whilst the chemistry teacher is blabbering, everybody's attention, except me, is at the transferee who is peacefully sitting, and yet everybody's looking at him. I'm also sitting, why are they looking at him? What's so special about him?

Even Andrea is looking at him? I can't take this. The whole moment, my right hand was on my chin, until the professor announced we're finished and we are now able to eat our lunch. Exactly what I was waiting for. I can't stand this situation.

"Hey, it's time already?" I told her as if the teacher didn't just announce it a few seconds ago. What? Don't tell me she's too preoccupied just looking at the transferee? I am so-- ugh.

I looked at the transferee and I saw him going away while my friend here, obviously, looking at him while he's peacefully walking. If I'm him I'm gonna think my friend is a creep. I'm just glad that he doesn't take a glance at everyone at his back. He's not as friendly, fortunately for me. I don't want to befriend him and I will end up his rival for my friend's attention.

"Andrea," I whispered loudly. Does that make sense? No. I just want to eat.

I tapped her, "Hey." This is the third time that I called her. Not that anybody is counting.

"Huh, what?" She asked and looked at me. Probably because the guy is already outside. I could see him talking to our chemistry teacher.

"Uh... lunch?"

"Oh, yeah. Let's go." She said, with her sanity completely back. I held her hand as I went out to the chairs to let her out. We didn't have any bags with us and all we have is our wallets to buy lunch. Let's pray that we don't run into Kim and Karen. Ew.

In the middle of walking through the hallway, our professor that introduce the transferee is calling me. What subject did he teach us earlier? I don't remember, I'm busy thinking why they're so mesmerized by the transferee. Speaking of, is he a hypnotist or something?

"Hey, Addison." Our professor almost shouted in a non-negative way with his hand on the air, to capture my attention. I looked back and walk to the teacher and left Addison behind, leaving the message that she should go to the cafeteria while I deal with what my professor would tell me. I don't know our chemistry teacher's name, neither his surname.

I looked at our chemistry teacher who is still with the transferee at the moment. "Yes, sir?"

"Hey, uh... can you tour Miguel for a minute? I have an urgent meeting at this time."

I looked at Miguel for a second. "Sure."

"Thanks, I have to go now."

This guy doesn't look friendly. His aura is intimidating. He has a serious face with his hands on his pockets. A typical snob for a transferee. I mean if I were him I'd also be a snob since I don't like making friends.

"Let's go," I said, not minding the awkwardness between us. He doesn't mind it, it looks like he doesn't even feel it, so might as well just ignore it.

I walk towards without looking back, I'm sure he's following me since I hear his footsteps walking towards the direction we are going.

But actually... I don't know where I should start.

Since I don't know where to start, I just went where my feet brought me, to the library. Since it was the nearest to our building. Our school is huge, so, this tour would probably take no longer than five minutes.

Who am I kidding? A campus of two thousand acres would take no longer than five minutes? What a joke!

"This is the library. Did you already entered here?" I asked, in a "trying-hard formality" form of speaking.

No response. Psh. It's a simple yes or no question! A simple "yes" is fine by me. But he didn't even flinch!

"Well then, I assume you didn't enter the library so I'll show you around."

I entered the library, as did he. The library is still as neat as I entered here last.

"So this is the library, there's the librarian, Ms. Diana." I introduced him to the five feet tall lady who smiled at us. We know each other because the library is my favorite place on campus.

Then again, he doesn't seem to care. But, what do I care? I'm only doing this on our chemistry teacher's behalf.

"Those are the shelves," which is pretty obvious. I walk to the shelves and pointed at the books. "These books are arranged in the Dewey Decimal system, which is commonly utilized in libraries."

Surprisingly, I can sense his enthusiasm from these books. Which is confusing for a guy who looks like he could blow something off with one snap. Guess you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

I thought he'll get a book from the shelves but he didn't so we moved on, "ok if you won't get something then let's move on."
