Thurak's Descent (Ch.38)

~At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid~

-Friedrich Nietzsche

Lord Thurak strolled down the hallways of his castle, heading towards his chambers, his uninterested gaze roamed everywhere as he moved and he noticed unsurprised the cobweb dangling at different places. His gaze took in the dusty surfaces untouched for years, left so at his own command, his castle only felt like home when it was so, when the solitude and emptiness seeped into every crevice of every wall, the castle had always felt strange to him whenever it was cleaned, seeing it the way it was now both comforted and unsettled him.
