The Crown Prince (Ch.39)

~Who is the most sensible person? The one who finds what is to their own advantage in all that happens to them~

- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The crown prince of Dalagh placed down the scroll in his hand and leaned back. Fingers lifting up to slowly rub his temples. He glanced back at the heap of scrolls still left to attend to and sighed in devastation.

His imperial father, the king had taken the day off abruptly again, once again

leaving matters of the court to crown prince Jaran to handle, and with Jalan's absence, there was no one for him to share his work in half with whilst ignoring their begrudging glares. Jaran missed his little brother already, as cold and distant as Jalan appeared, to Jaran his little brother was the one he could rely on the most.
