Jesse's POV
I doused the remains of my cigarette before walking to the parking lot and to my car. After the audition, I would never openly admit, but it was pretty interesting. Especially the way little Sophie's body moved to the beat of the music, like a angel gliding on water. If this was me a week ago I would've probably yelled at myself and question my thoughts but when it come to thinking about the short, blonde that is my best friends' little sister, I realized that my brain has a mind of its own.
Or maybe I don't want to acknowledge the fact that this girl makes me feel something. I snap out of my thoughts when I see a figure walk across the parking lot, just a couple rows ahead of my car. Realizing who it is I act like a love sick puppy and speed of towards the school gates. I slowed to a stop next to her and rolled down the window. She looked shocked to see me and just stood there looking at me like I had two heads. "Are you gonna get in or are you gonna just stand and stare at me?" I teased as she blushed and looked down at her feet.
She timidly reached for the handle if the door and got in. When she was buckled in I started driving, we sat there in awkward silence until I asked her for her address. She looked at me confused before asking, "Have you never been to my place before?" Now I was the one who looked at her confused. "No, why would I go over to your place?" I asked while glancing at her. "I just thought that because you were friends with Rex and Ryan you would've been over at some point." She said.
I chuckled before turning to look at her while making sure I can still see the road, "First of all no one in our ' friend group' knows where you guys live, we didn't even know you existed until you showed up at school with them. So know can I have your address so I know where to go?" I asked as nice as possible. She quickly looked down and started to fiddle with her phone but I didn't miss the quote of red that tinted her cheeks. I smiled to myself thinking I was the cause of that blush, even if she was embarrassed. She put up the GPS on her phone a let the device lead the way. We were sat in a comfortable silence until about five minutes from her home, when she spoke again, "Do you wanna play a game, I'm bored." I almost laughed at her childlike behavior and agreed.
She was almost bouncing in her seat when she suggested we play 10 question her 'made-up' version of 20 questions. Her first question shocked me, "Why do you hate me?" She asked nonchalantly while tilting her head to the side. I glanced at her before answering, "I don't hate you, what makes you think that?" I knew it was a stupid question to ask as I knew the answer. She looked down at her lap before answering, "Well you always glare at me and you don't talk to me so I just thought t-that -y-y-you h-ha-hated me." She stuttered out. I looked at her and saw tears building in her eyes. I was confused as to why she was crying but it made sense, she was not who she let everyone see.
She sniffled before saying her next words, "It's just I try so hard to make everyone happy and have them like me and then you just have to be a jerk and not like me, like what do I have to do for you to like me..." Her voice raised at the end as she continued her rant. I don't even think she noticed we were outside of her house. She was not going to stop talking anytime soon so I shut her up. I leant over the center console and gently placed my lips on hers. She stiffened for a second before she kissed me back. This is the cliché part of the story where you say fireworks went of, and though it is true, I'm gonna keep that minor detail to myself. After a couple of seconds she pulled away to breathe. I took this time to correct her question. "I don't hate you, in fact I like you a little bit to much and I don't know how to deal with being all mushy and expressing feelings and all that shit so I figured if I was mean to you, I would like you less or something."
I saw that she was twiddling with her thumbs while her cheeks turned red. She looked up at me and barely mumbled, "I think I like you to." Okay at first, I didn't want this, I didn't want these feelings, I didn't want to like her but hearing her say she likes me back had grin growing on my face. She didn't say anything else before getting out of the car and running to her porch. She was only a couple meters away when she turned around and came to my side of the car, she knocked on the glass indicating for me to put it down. When I did she Thanked me for brining her home and kissed my cheek before running of again. I waited until she got inside before pulling off and heading to my house. When I got there I saw the last two people I expected to see,
Rex and Ryan stood there in front of my father, Ryan had busted knuckles while Rex was holding a black duffel bag in his hand.

Ryan's POV
When we left to do the 'job' assigned to us, we ended up at an old run down bar in the bad side of town. Unfortunately, the owner didn't have the money to give us so I ended up having to 'rough him up' a bit according to Jesse's dad, who told us to call him 'boss' and refused to give us a name. We were now standing in front of him, myself with bloody knuckles and Rex with a duffle bag containing little cash and a bunch of jewelry. 'Boss' was about to say something when he looked behind both Rex and I and smirked evilly.
I looked behind me and saw Jesse looking beyond livid. I was about to speak but he beat me to it, "What the fuck are you guys doing here!!!" His voiced boomed through the area and I'm pretty sure the whole upper east side could hear him. "Well to make a long story short---" I was cut of by Jesse's dad, "They joined my gang." Both Rex and I stared in shock at his lie, Rex was about to correct his statement but he sent us a glare that could probably freeze hell. I think Rex got the memo as he instantly shut his mouth. "WHAT THE HELL, EVEN AFTER I WARNED YOU GUYS!" He started breathing hard and looked like he was about to transform into hulk soon. "You know what it's your lives just don't come hanging around me again!" With that he stormed off to god only knows where.

Jesse's POV
I was beyond pissed and thoroughly convinced that I had two morons for best friends. I don't even see a reason for them to join a gang much less my father's. As far as I knew their brother ran one of the largest trade company in the world, so they didn't need money. My mind then drifted to Sophie and what would happen if she found out what her idiots for brothers where doing and what would happen if she got involved. My mind started racing with thoughts of her getting injured or worse and right there I decided that I would protect her no matter what even if I have to protect her from her brothers' foolishness.
