Chapter 7: Beach Day

Sophie's POV

It was Saturday and I was lying down in the fluffy carpet in my room watching Netflix while Danny (Daniel my younger brother) was playing with his toys next to me.

After I completely embarrassed myself yesterday evening, I ran inside and stayed in my room until Rex and Ryan came home. I admit, I was upset that they left me but after Ryan explained that the car shop he worked at had an emergency and needed some help. I forgave them as they were just offering their assistance in a time of need, but somehow I felt like he was lying to me.

But suspicion forgotten, I am currently standing in front of my closet looking for a bathing suit. About an hour ago Jeremy came into my room, interrupted my Quantico marathon, and told me we were going to the beach. I chose a white bathing suit with a low V-neck and wore a pair of pale blue denim shorts for bottoms. I changed Daniel into some swim trunks and a tank top, before bounding down the steps with him in tow. Outside, all of my brothers were loading beach chairs, coolers, speakers and picnic baskets into the car. I buckled Danny into his seat and was about to get in when the honking of a car had me turning around to see the same black car that dropped me at home on Friday...

Jesse's POV

I was sat in Ashton's game room with him, Max and Caleb playing video games when my phone rang. I saw the caller i.d. and ignored Ryan's call. Soon after Caleb's phone rang, he picked up and spoke, to who I'm assuming was, Ryan. "Ryan said that him and his brothers, and sister, are going to the beach and wanted to know if we would join them. He also said that someone was dodging his calls." He said that last bit staring at me. I rolled my eyes and didn't even hesitate before saying 'no'. Caleb, being the child he is, huffed and pouted, "C' mon Jess-jess, it'll be fun and you can even drive me there." He said, whining like a child. "First don't call me that and second no."

"What's up between you and those brothers? First he says your dodging his calls and now you don't wanna hang out with them." Max asks. "To make a long story short, Ryan and Rex joined my father's gang even after I warned them not to." I ran my hair through my hair while a frustrated sigh. "Maybe they didn't have a choice." Max said. I pondered over the thought and it made sense, "Fuck!" I grumbled, feeling suddenly, shitty for yelling at them yesterday. "Okay, lets go be ready in half-hour."

With that I left and walked to my car. I started heading towards the place I call 'home'. When I got home I went straight to my father's office and barged in without even knocking. I was meet with my father sucking faces with a whore in skimpy clothes. When they pulled apart I glared at my father and waited for him to get rid off the slut. After about a minute of an intense stare off with my lame-excuse-of a father he sent the whore away and stood in front of his desk with his hands folded across his chest. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" He question with narrowed eyes and

heavy sarcasm. "Cut the bullshit! Why did you force my friends into your stupid gang." I knew that what I said had a fifty-fifty chance of him spilling the truth, and I hope, for my friendship with those idiots, that they were forced in and didn't join willingly. What he said next sent a wave of relief and anger through me.

"Those little pricks told you didn't they!" He shouted angrily. I smirked before saying, "No, but you just did, so thanks. Just know that what ever it is you have against them won't last long if I could help it." I then walked straight out of his office without a second glance. I jogged up to my room and got ready to go to the beach.

After pick up Caleb and Ashton we took off towards the brothers' house with Max in tail along with Rosie and Claire. As soon as we pulled up I saw all three brothers loading different things into the trunk while little Sophie was putting her baby brother in his car seat. She turned around when Max pulled up and honked his horn. She look hot to say the least.

After greeting everyone the girls decided that they wanted to drive together but neither of them had their driver's license hence the reason I have three girls singing to one direction in my car. I glanced over at Sophie in the front seat to see her smiling at me already. When she realized I caught her she looked down at her lap with a blush covering her already red cheeks.

A couple minutes later we pulled up in the parking lot and piled out off the car Claire, Rosie and Sophie walked down to the beach with the picnic blankets and baskets while we emptied the trunk. Everyone walked down to the beach and the boy started picking teams for soccer.

Sophie's POV

While Claire, Rose and I were laying down the picnic blankets, I saw Claire looking at me with a raised eyebrow and a small smile, I gave her a questioning glance and continued to put a basket at the end of the blanket. "So...uh.... What's going on between you and Jesse?" I almost chocked on air as I looked up at her with wide eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about." I stuttered trying to keep a blush off my face. "Oh, don't play dumb we saw the way you guys were making googly eyes at each other." Rose piped in as she took a seat next to Claire. " Okay, fine...we..uh..we kissed on Friday after he brought me home." The girls looked at me before squealing and clapping their hands like a pair of seals.

While Claire and Rosie were coming down from where ever they were I decided to take a walk down the beach, when I saw Jesse and Ryan talking. I started walking towards them, hearing bits and pieces of their conversation. I was stopped dead in my tracks when I heard the one thing I was afraid of happening,

Rex and Ryan joined a gang...
