Nate and Grace were both sitting in the president's office. It was a quiet setting, due to soundproofing done last year, they could not hear any of the other bands practicing in the club studio. Because summer was going on, the cool wind of the AC was covering the whole room. Little rays of sunlight were coming from the half-closed drapes. They were landing right on the coffee table next to the president's desk. A nice white modern couch was resting behind the table. Grace took a seat on it, while Nate was leaning on his desk. She was able to see a small storage room on the other side of the room with a mini-fridge and some files inside.
"So, what was this ex thing that made you so upset?", Nate broke the silence.
"Nothing, I prefer not to talk about it, it's all Mika's matter anyway.", Grace replied looking down on her hand as she was twisting her ring.
"It's alright. I understand that", Nate told with his usual gentle and comfortable tone.
"Thanks, you are a great person Nate", she smiled.
Nate looked up to the ceiling and sighed, "Is that so?"
"Yeah it is!", she clenched both her fists together and declared it in full confidence.
"Well I'm glad then", he chuckled on her innocence. "But I'm sure you must have met a lot more guys like that".
"I haven't actually.", she looked down. "The whole time, I had my fair share of encounters with some negative jerks.", she sighed in disgust. "But yeah, I have met a lot of interesting ones too."
"Oh yeah, that reminds me! How long has it been since you have been in a relationship?".
"I didn't have any", she declared innocently with a scoff.
"Wait seriously?", he was a little startled. He considered looking at her again and examined her from head to toe. "You sure?"
"Yeah!" she answered straightforwardly. "I mean I did have a two-day relationship and some meaningless hangouts with lots of guys. But never a relationship."
'I wish somehow I could be there times like that', he imagined while clenching his fist getting angry in his head. "So did you have your heart broken?"
"Yeah!", she chuckled. "I had been rejected quite a few times. And had been friends with some toxic people too."
"You mean you confessed and got turned down?", he was startled and a little shocked.
"Yeah. Life has its own way to make us realize our own worth, I had my lessons too.", she gave out a bright grin.
"Damn", Nate whispered. He was captivated by her aura at that time. It was beaming bright. Enough to make people smile for no reason. And enough for Nate to fall for her more and more.
"What about you? I doubt your dating life was a drought with these looks", she raised her brow.
"Well- I can't say it was. I had a share of good and bad relationships. From one-night stand to long terms. I've got all the experience", Nate rubbed his head roughly in utter confusion to what he was saying.
"Wow, sounds like you are eligible for our job as a hotty for a lifetime.", Grace nodded professionally as if she was taking an interview.
"Owe c'mon! It's nothing like that", he rubbed his hand on his neck.
Grace chuckled, "we all know the truth, sir. So I'm assuming that this had lead to quite a lot of heartbreaks."
Nate clenched his teeth and squinted, "cannot deny the statement."
"It's alright", she said, "As I said, life is a good teacher."
Nate couldn't take the angel's presence anymore. He was getting more and more intrigued by her.
"I really admire you, you know", he finally placed his hand on hers.
Grace suddenly felt chills running down her body. Placing hands was nothing weird. It's pretty normal. Then what's happening right now? She could feel the blood circulation pacing through her cheeks, her lips felt like they were trembling. Her whole body was filling up with some kind of weird warmth. Just his palm on her hand was the gentlest thing for her. She knew looking at him right now would be dangerous, so she quickly moved her face and got some voice from the back of the throat to continue the conversation. "Why's that?"
"Well, you are just- how to say this?", he scratched his head as he looked up in deep thinking. "Special! Yeah. Just so different."
"What do you mean?"
"You probably got that already from what I told you, I've been with a lot of people. Got to know a lot of point of views. Got to know some big idiots. But I've always seen them having this attitude you know. this 'normal attitude'. 'oh he broke me, now I can't be with anyone else', past issues, regret and stuff."
"Yeah, I'm familiar with that", she chuckled.
"I don't know why, but you seem to understand me completely. The things that I'm about to say, you always speak them, like you speak my heart.", he started looking at her in the eyes. His eyes were beaming with the spark he always carries with him when he sees her. His love was almost spilling out of them.
"I actually understand that", she whispered, while getting her cheek pink she continued, "It's weird indeed, but I never had someone who could understand my words this easily. I mean obviously Mika is there, but I always seemed to keep on searching for someone like you."
The moment was pleasing itself, there was happiness filling inside every inch of their body. They could have been like that for the whole time, but unfortunately, if they continued this, no one knows what actually might happen.
Nate looked away; he knew something really unusual could have happened. No matter what, he wanted to resist putting her at that tough spot.
Grace moved her hand away from his hand to tuck her hair behind her ear. Her face was beet red again.
There was an awkward silence again. None of them was ready to utter a single word. They need to do something. Even though all they could think about was going back to that moment and see how far it could go. But neither of them had the courage to propose that. They were just waiting there for someone to come or to a storm hit the building.
'I need to break the ice!', Grace thought.
"A- a drink?", Grace asked hesitantly.
"What?", Nate flinched. Even though he was nervous as hell from the inside, his reflex made his cool personality to go on show.
"Do you want to drink something cold? I could go and get it from the cafeteria!", she wanted to get away as soon as possible.
"Well if you want, we have some soft drinks in our mini fridge over there.", he pointed out to the storage room.
"O- oh alright. I'll get it", she got up in that second. 'there goes my plan for escaping this', she cried in her own mind.
"Can you get me some too?", Nate asked. He was feeling awkwardly hot now.
"Yeah sure."
'What the hell was that?', she started imagining. 'What would have happened if I had not moved away? How far would that thing have gone? And why is this happening anyway? Wasn't he just another guy a while ago?'
Mika's words start echoing inside her head, 'he like you; you know!'
She abruptly shook her head and went back to reality getting her cheeks from beet red to normal agiain. She resolved to give Mika a good scolding for putting inappropriate ideas inside her head.
As Nate was waiting on the couch, just sitting there and looking through his phone for something to get his mind off from the earlier situation, Grace entered with two glasses in her hands. She was walking with a smile on her face. Somehow wherever they both are in front of each other their body gives out smile as a reflex. He looks at her as she tries to be as careful as she could. Even the fact that she tries so hard, is cute itself.
But, being the clumsy Grace, she is, as soon as she's in front of him, she slips on her own foot. As she started to fall, Nate stood up and caught her on time before she could hit her knees. She held on to his shoulder to gain her balance back. Right at that moment her gaze spotted Nate.
"Oh no! You are drenched", she gasps as she looks at him.
"Don't worry, it's not that big of a deal", he chuckles in a soft voice.
"I saw a towel in the storage room. I think you can wipe yourself with it", without evening listening to his reply she just flew away.
Nate smirked at her quick move. "She's a fun girl", he whispered. He decided to take his shirt off since the AC's coolness was getting him cold. As he did, his 'more than perfect body' was out for the show. Little drops were sliding down from his chest down to his abdomen. He threw off the shirt on the ground and his body was fully exposed. Every inch of his muscle was crystal clear. His body was beaming with hotness, enough to anyone have a nosebleed. He flipped his hair back, showing off his abs. His handsome face was fully exposed, shouting that he was a pure dom.
"Hey, here's a towel, you-", Grace froze on the spot. It was too much to take, even for her. Her eyes were seeing every little detail, they were actually seeing too much. A little birthmark on his shoulder, his idealizing body, the beautiful skin he wears, his hair back was making him look sexier. She was clearly seeing the beautiful human he is. Her cheeks started flushing. Suddenly her body got hot, even she didn't know what was happening. This effect was a hundred times stronger than what happened a while ago. Her legs were turning into the clay. Her eyes were shimmery and lip up. Her lips were actually trembling this time.
She wasn't the only one who felt this. Nate was seeing the most beautiful soul in front of him as if their energies were pulling their body closer and closer. His eyes couldn't see anything but her. The beautiful expressions she was making as she was all blushed up. He was able to notice the little mole on her lips moving because of her trembling. 'There's no way I can stop myself now.'
He moved ahead and went closer and closer to Grace. She wasn't even able to flinch. Her body was rock hard at that time. Moreover, this time, she didn't want to move away. The room was ghost quiet but still, there was some kind of harmony ringing inside their ears. Nate stood in front of her and looked down on her. Grace wasn't ready to look him in the eyes, she was unable to. Somehow, he completely understood it. He placed his hand under her chin and slowly moved it up. Tiny little Grace was looking up at him with her innocent angel like eyes.
As soon as their eyes met, it was like some kind of magic spell blasted right at that spot. Their gaze was locked. They could see each other in their eyes. It was only them, no one else. Their eyes were deep as the endless sea, but the image of each other was still crystal clear. Every second there were constant sparks running up and down through their body. Starting from their feet to head and even the tips of their fingers, it was pure bliss.
"What's wrong?", Nate whispered, not moving even an inch away from her. His whisper was as soft as a feather but somehow still hard which was like a pleasureful melody to Grace's ears.
"I- I don't know…", she replied slowly. Her tone was cracking from nervousness, but it was still the most beautiful sound.
"Do you want to find out?", he came closer and whispered in her ears.
Grace couldn't take this torture anymore. This moment was feeling like she was under some kind of spell. A spell she never wants to come out of. Her body felt heavy. But her soul was feeling light and free. Free as a wind. With the cutest and smallest voice, she replied, "Yes".
That moment was like ecstasy for Nate. It felt like a moment he was waiting for his whole life. Like he finally got what he has been longing for. He felt free of something. Something that was really heavy for him.
He brought his face closer and closer to Grace. As he did, he didn't take his eyes off her the whole time. Their heart was beating faster and faster. Nothing was around them anymore. They only saw each other. As his face kept coming closer, she felt her patience getting destroyed more and more. Her whole body was trembling, her legs couldn't hold her anymore. She reached out her hand and placed it on his shoulder. As she did, he didn't let go the chance to hold her tight, something he has been longing for from the first time they met. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in. As Grace was on tiptoe to reach him, he leaned down. Within that moment, he pressed his lips on Grace's. As soon as they touched, lips stopped trembling. She could feel the tight stronghold of Nate. Whereas he could feel the warmth and softness of fragile Grace. Time stopped for them at that time. The moment filled their heart with happiness. They didn't feel heavy or hot anymore. It was warm and blissful.
