Knowing Better

"Hey, Ryan! we need to go this way", Mika said pointing out to a closed door.

"But the sign says it's here. Plus I can see some people practising", he peeked inside the club room.

"Yeah, that's right. But our band practice here. We've got the president on our team", she winked.

"That's fancy. Well, not that I'm surprised when it's you", he sighed in awe.

Mika grinned with her big wide smile, showing off her teeth.

Suddenly familiar footsteps neared them. Noah came with a calm look on his face as he always does. His aura was beaming with an unapproachable yet attractive light. Little strands of hair were dangling in front of his eyes. As he swept his hair back, Mika's cheeks flushed. She looked away right at that second. Ryan's eyes went towards her. Something was off there but he wasn't at a place to ask about it.

Noah didn't really care about greeting and ignored the face of the guy standing in front of Mika. Ryan was looking at him with an expression of 'who are you? What do have to do with her?' But Noah didn't really feel the need to even respond to him. He looked at him from head to toe and did not say anything. His urge to punch him though was increasing faster than the heat outside the room.

"Hey, Noah! Are you going into the club room too?", Mika asked as she got a hold onto her embarrassment.

"Isn't that obvious?", he replied in his dominant flat voice. "I left some stuff here", he said ignoring Ryan as much as he can.

"Oh, by the way, this is Ryan!", she brought him closer with his arm, "a good friend and an ex of mine".

Noah didn't pay much attention. He looked down at him and nodded his head. Ryan was fully aware that they are not going to be good friends. But he didn't expect him to be this straight forward.

"Let's go inside!", Mika turned to the door, unaware of the tension between those two.

She turned the doorknob and as soon as she opened it, she was frozen to one place. Her eyes stopped blinking, her feet were glued to the round. She couldn't even give any expression other that, 'MASSIVE SHOCK'.

There was Nate, and then there was Grace. But the problem was, their lips were wrapped around each other. Grace was in Nate's arm, held tight. Moreover, to make the matter even worse his shirt was off on the ground.

Noah and Ryan who bumped into Mika were also able to sneak a peek for some seconds before Nate and Grace flinched. Grace quickly moved far from him. Her eyes were on the ground, her hand was on her lips and her face was red as a tomato. Nate looked at the audience who had suddenly made unrequired entrance to the room.

Ryan smashed his forehead with his hand, "Oh boy, this is bad", he whispered.

Nate was looking at Mika who was standing there with her pale as if she had seen a ghost. her eyes were bulging out if shock. Her lips weren't moving at all.

Noah looked at Nate, "dude that ain't a very nice choice, neither a piece of nice luck".

Before Nate could even say anything, Mika started walking towards her. Her face didn't have a single bit of expression. Her chin was slightly down but her eyes were fixed at Nate. Rage was spilling out of them. Her every step was loud and heavy as a rock. As she came closer to him, her pace increased. Nate couldn't understand what he should say. everything was going on so quickly and with that kiss a while ago, his thoughts were not inline. Grace, on the other hand, was not even in this reality. She was lost after that kiss.

Without wasting a single second, Mika paced towards Nate, moved her body, and gave out a jump kick like a Taekwondo master, which she actually was.

Nate didn't even receive a sign or signal. Being caught off guard, Mika landed on his front and sent him flying a distance away from his spot.

Noah and Ryan were just standing there, not even daring to utter a single word in from of her. Ryan's mouth was wide open. Noah was standing there scratching his forehead in a 'you shouldn't have done it in the first place manner'.

Without wasting time there, Mika grabbed Grace's hand, who was still in her own imaginary world and flew away like a bullet train.

Ryan and Noah were left there with Nate on the floor holding his stomach. He was in pain, but for some reason, he couldn't stop blushing either. His tears were coming but he couldn't stop smiling. Noah came up to him and asked, "Woah, are you okay?" He gave out his hand.

Nate gripped him and got up. He rubbed his belly a little. "Yeah, It's not that bad. But damn is there any martial art that girl does not know?"

All of a sudden, his face went from pain to smile, "but I don't really mind it today", he picked up his shirt and grinned in happiness.

Seeing his quick change in expression, all Noah could do was give out one expression. 'Dude this shit is fucked up', was written all over his face. " Dude you're creeping me our", he crossed his arms.

"Sorry sorry! I just didn't expect this to happen you know", Nate snickered. " I mean, I was aware how important she was going to be for me from the day I met her. But this... It's just so real".

Noah smiled at him, "I understand. Congrats dude. You finally got her. Was worth searching for her huh?", he punched his shoulder lightly.

" You have no idea", Nate chuckled almost laughing out with happiness.

Their attention was drawn by Ryan as he scoffed after hearing what Nate said. He knew he had to say something otherwise it would be too awkward.

"She finally got someone who deserves her huh", he sighed as he nodded slightly.

"What do you mean?", Nate asked as he was not following his words.

"You know, she's very naive from the start", he looked at them as he starting speaking. " She would do anything for anyone's happiness, without really caring about the evils in this human world".

"You seem pretty close to her", Nate asked with a little seriousness.

" Well, I was just close to Mika and she was her life. So that's kinda how it worked for me".

"Oh", Nate nodded rapidly. "How was she back then?", Nate asked curiously as three of them took a seat on the couch.

"Hmm, she wasn't any different than today. A pure soul if I may. The girl was always a flight risk. Mika had to keep an eye on not only her but the people whom she would encounter", he told Nate.

"So everything was fine right?", Nate asked worriedly.

"Too kind", Ryan chuckled a little sadly, " She was too kind ya know. Just helping people in need, but never taking care of her own. There were times when I saw her hugging Mika and crying so that no one else would find out".

Nate looked down feeling sad. Even though it was impossible, he wanted to be there. But as Ryan uttered his next sentence his expression was changed completely.

"Obviously Mika made their life living hell after that", Ryan laughed in terror.

'How did I forget this part', Nate thought as he lowkey smiled.

"But I'm sure I have hardly met anyone, this innocent yet this wise. There are many souls she has helped for good. And you know what she used to say? 'Their smile is the most precious thing'. Just like that with her pure smile", Ryan chuckled.

"Sounds like her", Noah mumbled as he was looking at his tab.

"Yeah!", Nate smiled. His face was exhibiting happiness. He felt really happy about himself. All those things that Ryan had told him, he had noticed it himself. Somehow he was feeling a little proud of his love. He felt the need of protecting his little pure soul more and more.

"Alright I should get going", Ryan got up.

"Already?", Nate got up too.

"Yeah, I mean those two won't be seen till tomorrow because of your little gesture of romance. So I guess I'll look around for my classes while I can", he headed to the door.

"Yeah, that's true. Well, thanks for the talk".

Ryan waved back to Nate as he closed the door.

"Sometimes I think how convenient it would be to just make people disappear from the world", Noah finally spoke.

"Or instead you can just be honest and hold on to your treasure", Nate scoffed sarcastically.

"Oh that I will", Noah looked at Nate with an evil smile. His expressions were speaking loud and clear that no one should mess with the devil itself.
