His Dearest

The room was suddenly too quiet. The only thing Mika could hear was Noah's footsteps and her own heartbeat. For a second, she thought that fate was playing with her. It hadn't even been twenty-four hours since she talked to Grace about him. She tried looking at him in his eyes, but it was too much for her rushing heart. His cold dominating gaze sent a chill all around her spine. Her cheeks flushed faster than her heartbeat. She moist her lips as she kept pushing herself backward.

None of them were speaking a single word. Their eyes were meeting and breaking every second. Mika was flushed. Her face was red as if she was out in the sun. Noah had a cold aura. He had this expressionless face which Mika couldn't read even a little bit. Their footsteps were echoing in the empty classroom.

"N- Noah?", Mika whispered nervously, scared of not knowing where could this be leading to.

He didn't reply. His eyes were fixed on Mika. A little too fixed. Enough to make her tremble.

It didn't take her long to realize that she had gone out of space to move now. She was at the edge of the room with Noah just two steps away from her. Her thoughts were jumping up and down in her head. She knew that if she didn't find a way to escape from here, he would soon have an upper hand in this situation. This was something she would never want anyone to have.

Abruptly, in a second, she moved her feet to run away from the whole thing.

But this time, Noah was serious. He was too anxious to let her go this time. Especially after all these days when she has been leaving with Ryan and not even looking at him in the eye.

He stepped forward and rapidly slammed both his hands to the wall, making Mika caged between his arms and most dangerously, himself from the front.

A little cry left Mika's mouth. She looked here and there but all she could see was him.

"N- Noah what's wrong?", she was scared now. She clenched her chest tightly as she looked at him moving her chin upwards.

His gaze was piercing through her chest. Was it anger or agony? There was no way to tell.

He brought his face closer and closer to her. Slowly as if the time as stopped.

Mika couldn't think anything straight. She had lost the upper hand. There was no way to undo this, except for letting him have his way and wait for this to be over.

But was he really looking for something to be over?

Her hands started shaking, her breath was getting hotter. Slowly her breathing got faster and faster.

He wasn't even blinking. His eyes were set on the girl standing in front of him. Scared, trembling, innocent, but somehow his place of bliss.

He stopped moving right when his lips were a second apart from touching hers. She could hear his breathing, his heartbeat. His eyes were so close that she could see the depth in them. Behind that cold gaze, she could see the warmth that no one else had.

Apparently, fate was trying to play with Mika. Or maybe it was being generous with Noah.

Right when these two were having their moment, someone unwanted was passing by the window. As soon as Ryan glanced in the window, he felt his ground shaking. For someone who had the confidence to get his love back, this was not the prettiest sight.

In a quick motion, he stuck himself with the wall, peeking like a stalker from the window.

"Now Mika, I think this position is enough to make you forget about the formal chit chat", Noah finally spoke.

His face was too close. The vibrations in her ear were sending chills down through her spine. She looked away in embarrassment. There was no argument she could throw here.

"Good", Noah whispered in his deep calm voice. "So, I'm going to ask this one question, and I want a straight answer. Do you understand that?"

Mika nodded.

'I need to barge in!', Ryan thought this is his chance to just jump in and save her, just like they do in the movies. But as fast as he thought about stepping forward, he was held back. What he realized made his heartache.

Looking at them, why couldn't he find any flaw? Why couldn't he find it bad? Why was there a weird energy around this setup?

As he looked at Mika's face, he figured out everything.

This was happiness. They were standing there, it wasn't anything forced. He could see how cautious Noah was to not hurt her in any way. How Mika was standing there with her face flushed. She didn't have a single sign of agony.

'So, this is what you meant huh?', he sighed as he stood there still.

Noah sensed someone was looking at them, but the moment was too good to be spoiled by looking back.

"So, tell me, Mika, why do you keep on running away from me?", he whispered in a deep sinister tone.

She felt a sudden shock. Her face flushed just by the thought of being honest with him. There was no way in hell she was telling him.

"Wha- what are y- you talking about? I don't d- do th- that", she laughed nervously, even though she knew it was a dead giveaway.

Poor Mika was again successful in pissing Noah off, even though she didn't want to.

"Oh, is that so?", he smirked

"Y- yeah…", she mumbled, trying her best to not look at him in the eyes.

"Alright then", Noah started getting back from her.

She sighed deeply, relieved that it was all over. Little did she know Noah doesn't have any boundaries.

He moved his face a little on the side. Before Mika knew, he was closest to her ear, her most sensitive spot.

"Hyaa!", she cried. "Wha- wha- what are you doing", she actually transformed into a wooden puppet trembling all the way. Her face suddenly started burning, anything is better than being near her ear.

"Let me ask you again now", he whispered in his ear. Every single word that vibrated inside her and his breath she fell on her ear, it was like a sweet torture. "Why do you keep on running away from me?"

"I- I don't", she somehow still fought. Even though her eyes were tearing up, her cheeks were burning and her face was flushed.

"Oh my, you still have the energy to fight back?", Noah smirked.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. A little cry left her mouth. Her body was pressing against hers. She could feel his stiff chest and his strength.

"Now listen here doll, if you want to have the ability to sit today, tell me", he bit her ear a little.

"eeeek", she cried.

"Why do you keep on running away?", Noah asked again. He was making it sure that it would actually be the last time he asks this.

Mika lost her balance. This was the end of her potential to fight back now. Tears started falling through her eyes. Noah felt a drop on his shoulder, he got a little back to take a look and what he found was something new, something beautiful, something painful, but most of all, something he could never forget.

She stood there, still as a rock, fragile as a feather with her mesmerizing eyes shimmered with tears. Every single drop that fell from her cheek made her voice louder.

'Maybe I scared her', Noah felt guilty. He took some steps back to give her some space. He bent down to reach her face, "Mika? What's wrong?", he asked being a little worried. There was a sense of guilt in his heart that he couldn't reach out.

This time Mika did something that made his heart skip his beat.

She jumped forward landing on him. Her arms were wrapped around his waist, little Mika could only reach his chest. She started crying louder and louder.

Noah thought he was dreaming. Mika is there, and for a change, she's the one holding him. Even though she was crying, he couldn't be happier about it. 'Is it alright if I'm happy about this?', he thought to himself.

He moved his hand and reached her head. Patting her gently he asked in the most soothing voice ever, "I'm sorry Mika".

"Un- unfair", words fell out of Mika's cry.

"What is it?", Noah asked unable to hear what she said.

"It's unfair!", she shouted, even then her tears haven't stopped. "What can I do!?, she hugged him tighter.

"Mika? Are you alright?", Noah was startled.

"It's not like I want to run from you! But what can I do!"

"Hey, Mika…! Wait"

"Every time I come closer to you my heart beats louder and louder! I run out of breath!"

"Mika!"

"I feel the urge to hold you, be in your arms!"

"hey…! Hold on!"

"I feel so warm being with you. Even though normally it would be weird or too fast, I just know that it is you! All these feels are too overwhelming… I can't process these thoughts, so I end up running away", she started crying more and more, not letting go of Noah.

"Mika, calm down", he patted her head. This was the first time his perfect mind didn't know what was happening.

"DON'T YOU GET IT THAT YOU ARE THE ONE I'VE SEARCHING FOR ALL ALONG!", Mika snapped out.

These words wrapped his heart. His heart skipped a beat. The cold, calm, sadistic Noah, who never let anyone have the upper hand in any situation was blushing. He covered his lips with his hand. 'What's this? I've never seen myself like this', he thought to himself. 'Hey angels, is this what it feels like to be in the warmth of someone?'

He scoffed in awe and started patting Mika, "I'm sorry", he said with the obvious tone of happiness.

"You made me cry", Mika was sniffing. Even she was feeling warm. She was holding him and this was more blissful than she could ever imagine.

"Well I'm sorry about it doll", he said in the most soothing tone, holding her tight and patting her back.

"You are a meanie", tears were still spilling out.

"Am I?", he chuckled as he wiped her tears.

"Yes… But not a bad guy", she said making sure Noah knows she doesn't hate him.

"Oh, I'm relieved I'm not"

"But still you were cruel"

"Yes, yes. I'll be careful from now on"

"meanie…", her voice got low.

"Mika?", Noah looked at her as he felt her getting heavy.

Mika's eyes were shutting slowly, she lost her balance. As she did Noah caught her by the waist.

"Hey, Mika! Are you okay? Stay with me!", Noah shouted.

Before she could hear him, her legs gave up. She fell unconscious in his arms.
