Chapter 10

Natalie felt like her whole world was going to crash when Dana and Amber got into it at the airport but thankfully Natalie went to her parents to settle in since they weren't far from the airport though she didn't expect her mom to find out about her new love interest. It took all she could do not to run away from her own mother without tears and regret of leaving completely.

"Natalie, you have no right to be kissing that woman in public. I don't agree with you being with her after you divorce that asshole. I will not put up with my daughter being gay." Katie shouted throughout the whole house.

"Mom, please, stop! I am going back to Texas to be with her once this is all said and done. Amber is beautiful, loving, and so sweet. We may be different in body but she treated me better than Aaron did and I hated him for trying to make me feel bad about my shape. I can't wait to get away from all you closed minded people, this is so ridiculous." Natalie replied.

"I will not have you be with a woman that is beyond miles from here and doesn't speak a lick of proper english like us. I have raised you to be proper, not some out west, filthy hooligan and for hell sakes Natalie go change into proper wear that I prefer you in." Katie responded with gritted teeth.

Natalie got up from the table and did something she never imagined doing but she got sick of people dissing her life then turning her love life into nothing because Amber means something to her. She looked straight into her mom's eyes then slapped her as her father stood there with no words and Natalie walked out of the room, grabbing her luggage and decided that this divorce wasn't worth dealing with the idiocy of people who couldn't accept her decisions. Natalie called a cab, made arrangements to be back at the airport and decided it is time to leave as she called her lawyer, he wasn't happy that she is leaving but understood that her love is more important and her divorce with Aaron will be settled without her there. Natalie looked back at her childhood home, as she saw that her life with the cell phone was ruining her but she knew once she got to Amber that it will be history because it has tied her life down for so long. Natalie knew she wasn't her mother and will never be so selfish to ruin her child's life because she liked someone of the same-sex.

Soon as the Taxi arrived Natalie felt grateful to not be consumed in her thoughts. Natalie dialed Amber's number that she found in a directory and it just rang, though it threw her off knowing Amber is usually not far but then a voice she recognized picked up.

"Please tell me it is you, Natalie?" Sheila said on the other end.

"It is, where is Amber?" Natalie asked.

"No idea, she made breakfast for herself, shower and then from that I have no idea. We got drunk last night and our worlds have crashed since I told her I was homeless." Sheila explained through heavy breathing.

"If you see her, let her know I am coming back and that she has nothing else to worry about at this point. My divorce is being handled." Natalie replied as she got out of the cab with her luggage.

"I will for sure and I will make sure we wait up for you. See you in a day or less." Sheila responded drunkenly then hung up on Natalie.

Natalie chuckled, placing her phone in her back pocket. As soon as she was about to board the airplane her phone went off as she looked at it, it read her mom so she shut it off and gave the lady her plane ticket without anyone else coming to catch her. She made her way on board without any problems and found her seat. A long trip back to Texas but it'd be so worth it to be in Amber's arms again and kissing her with that spark. It always makes her happy that they were able to share a kiss at the airport and be passionate for once. Natalie took it as a grain of salt for not dealing with her mother's closed mind and also not accepting her life even though she knew her mother would eventually come around if at all. Natalie fell into a deep sleep as more passengers boarded the plane and as she dreamed away from the world of life it became her alternate sense to listen to someone speaking to her though she rather be sleeping instead of conversing with other people.

"Miss, you are in the wrong state to be here in New York with that kind of style." A woman said with a thick New York accent.

"Pardon me?" Natalie replied looking at the woman beside her.

"Country women don't belong in the City." The woman responded looking Natalie up and down.

"I am from here, this is what my girlfriend gave me to wear before I came back home." Natalie replied looking at the woman in her fancy wear of a white top and khakis with heels.

"Sure, lady, whatever you say." The woman responded holding tight to her purse.

Natalie rolled her eyes then went back to sleep. Before she could fully drop off the woman had the nerve to speak again.

"Did I hear you say girlfriend?" The woman said with a gasp.

"Yes?" Natalie replied with a raised eyebrow.

The woman looked at her with infatuation all of a sudden and all Natalie could think of is fuck, here we go again with a woman wanting to be curious. Natalie stopped the woman before their lips crashed together.

"Don't you dare. I am in love with my girlfriend back in Texas." Natalie said with demand.

"She is damn lucky for a sexy thing like you, who can resist such a sexy redhead that is full of spitfire." The woman replied, winking.

Natalie rolled her eyes wishing this airplane would get to Texas faster because sitting next to this woman is going to piss her off.
