When Would It Die?

"Because?" Prince Xiaodan inquired, his face stoning up as the seconds go by.

She was clearly frustrated. Tianshi Xue could not tell him that the vase slipped accidentally. Its usual position was a few yards away! He knew that she threw it on the floor.

"You're really mad that he left?" Prince Xiaodan said in a calm voice but it was more of an accusation.

"It's not that," she said. "Prince Qui and I got into a little disagreement." There was nowhere else to go but to tell the truth. "He gave me a cactus."

She did not know why she was trying to make everything alright between her and Prince Xiaodan. Gracious, there was NOTHING between them! Why was she even letting him down slowly?

If she had been Tianshi Xue, she would have already broken his heart in little pieces. But she was not. She was still Princess Yingyue in his eyes and she had to act her part. She could not risk another prince knowing about her situation.
